dotty's pov

with every booming bang came a chorus of 'oohs' and 'ahs' from the people around us. people stood in awe as the ruby-red beams danced in the night sky.

the summer evening didn't stop the cold from coming however. trevor and i held hands, with his other arm, holding onto my forearm, in effort to warm me up. it was obviously not working, so he let go of my hand. i hummed in complaint but then realised he was giving me his hoodie. he nodded his head up, in motion for me to lift my arms so he could put it over me. our hands reconnected and i moved to stand in front of trev. he leaned down and rested his head on my shoulder with his arms, now looped around my neck cosily.

Very few words were spoken, apart from the occasional, 'is it finished' from small children, covering their ears with their hands.

More and more green, yellow, orange, blue, every colour you could imagine flooded the star lit sky. That meant it was finishing. It was the big finale. Trevor kissed my cheek which made me squirm and giggle.

"you know what we should do" he whispered in my ear, my cheeks flushing a deep red.

"what?" i said back, the corners of my mouth lifting into a small grin.

"we should go swimming. we should find some rocks to jump off into the sea" he suggested. i my mind immediately pictured us, hand in hand, jumping into the sea. so i agreed.

"we should invite ri and jamie. it'll be fun" trevor nodded in agreement and went over to them. i followed after him. as i got over to them, sherri squealed and started jumping up and down like a child. jamie placed his hands upon her shoulders, making her stop.

"we've still got our cozzies on underneath" i said nodding my head towards ri. the boys said they didn't so they were going back to their room to pick them up.

"is there anything you want me to get for you?" trev asked me.

"uhm yeah can you get my camera and," i was going to give him the bracelet tonight. "there's a small brown paper bag in the loo that's got tape on the top. don't look in it, but can you bring it for me pleaseeeee" i dragged the please on and smiled up at him.

"mk, just give me your room card" i dug into my pocket and handed it to him.

"stay there yeah. text me if anything happens" he nods his head to us reassuringly. and they were off.

trevor's pov

"what'd she ask for you to bring?" jamie questioned.

"uhh her camera and some brown bag from the loo?" i replied to which jamie furrowed his brows.

"loo?"

"that's what she said. not that i know what that is" jamie stopped walking.

"maybe it's girl code for something" he hit my arm lightly, as if he solved our problem.

"yeah!" i exclaimed in reply. "give me a min i'll look it up" i pulled out my phone and went onto google. i typed in 'loo meaning girl code' but nothing came up. i made a face which made jamie snatch my phone.

"huh? let me try" he deleted the 'girl code' part of the sentence and the screen went revealed that it meant toilet. "are you joking" he said in annoyance. which made me laugh.

we got to the girls' room and i clicked the key card. once i slipped the card into the slip for the lights to turn on, it looked like a bomb went off. there were clothes everywhere, bikinis, towels, everything was on the floor.

"yo you look for the camera, i'll find this brown bag" i suggested, heading for the 'loo'. after a couple of minutes looking around, i fond it. i walked out of the bathroom and was met with jamie  throwing clothes around the room, in search for dot's camera.

all of a sudden, there was a knock at the door. jamie froze and grabbed my arm.

"sherri? dotty? are you there?" it was a female voice. jams whisper screamed to which i slapped my hand over his mouth. who would was it?

jamie reached up to undo my hand to mouth and whispered, "it's their mum" that made sense. there were a couple more knocks until we were brave enough to look through the peep hole in the door, and there was no one there.

"coast is clear" i voiced. jamie took this notice to carry on throwing clothes around the room. "dude can you not do that. look it's here" i reached for the bedside table and picked up the small camera. i turned it on and took a couple of pictures of jam and i.

"lets go"

heyy!!!

okay so a lot has happened since the last chapter. like a lot. happy christmas, Hanukkah and new year to those who celebrate!!!

first of all THE TWO HUGHES BOWLS🏃🏃

secondly the heart breaking news of the trade :(( but jam looks like he's having sm fun over in philly which makes me happy.

right. world juniors??? like, canada what happened? minty my boy😿 connor's broken jaw? trevor's ankle? jamie's illness? and jack being out as well!!

over all the chaos, i hope you've all recovered from such a hectic couple of weeks THIS early on in 2024 💌
