summer. the best time of the year. school was out, so that ment riding my bike everywhere, going to the river without mum or dad knowing, polaroid cameras, the smell of sun cream, mr whippys every day. i could go on forever on how nostalgic summer is.

"woah" i said to to no one in particular, stepping out of the taxi. we had just landed ibiza. we, as in sherri, mum, dad and i. we were four weeks into the summer holidays. a black taxi had picked its up from the airport and drove us to our hotel. and this hotel looked amazing.

the taxi was parked around a grass round about, the hotel standing in front of us. the hotel had it name, sat above the entrance, 'El Hotel Sunrise'.

"dotty, come and get your case!" said my mother from the back of the taxi. i lifted my baby pink suitcase out of the boot and put my backpack straps around my shoulders.

"thank you" i thanked to the taxi driver as he drive away. i followed my mum and dad into the hotel, with sherri next to me.

"this hotel is so pretty" she said in awe, her mouth in an 'o' shape looking around the inside of the lobby.

"you're acting like you've never been to a hotel before ri" i giggled. sherri was my older sister, i was 18 and she was 19. she lived in a college flat now with her mates, while I'm finishing sixth form and living with mum and dad. i missed her.

"shut up dorothy, this ones just cooler than ones we've stayed at before" i hate it when she calls me dorothy. while we were bickering, mum and dad got the room keys and started walking towards the lifts. they're already sick of us.

"can you two try not to argue so much, it may do you some good" mum says, pushing a button that says 'level 2'.

"we weren't even arguing mum, we were chatting about how lovely it is that we all get to spend time with each other" i exclaimed sarcastically, wrapping my arms around both of my parents shoulders.

as we excited the lift, we walked down a halfway off rooms, until we got to ours.

"girls you're sharing a room, which is this one, 207. dad and i are sharing one on the floor above." mum hands sherri the key card.

"don't do anything stupid until dinner, okay?" dad chuckles and pars my shoulder. i smile and nod in response.

"we'll meet you two in the lobby before dinner. try to at least unpack a few things into the wardrobes!" mum smiles jokingly.

"sounds good, see you in a couple of hours" with a beep sherri had opened the door to our room. as we walked into our room, there was a bathroom to our left and a wardrobe to our right. as we walked past the bathroom, we were met with two double beds, and to the right was a light red sofa and an armchair, facing a tv.

"this is nice" sherri said, she was right. we had a balcony that looked out into a load of sun beds and 3 swimming pools. i can't wait to jump in one of them, i thought to myself.

"i dibs this bed!" i shouted, as i jumped into it in a star pose. sherri made an 'ugh' sound and dropped her handbag onto the armchair. i stayed in that position for quite a while, it was more comfy than i thought it would be.

"im gonna pop in the shower" sighed an exhausted sherri.

"okie dokie, i'll probably go in after" i replied, she nodded her head and started to unpack her suitcase. i turned on my back and moved to lean against the head board on my bed. with my hair sticking to the back of my neck, due to the sweat, i put my hair up in a pony. i went on my phone, waiting for sherri to be finished in the shower.
