for the rest of that afternoon, we swam in the pool and i eventually got sherri to play mermaids with me. it was around 5:30 when we got back to our hotel room, and it seemed that trevor and jamie had invited themselves in as well. i dropped my bag to the side of my bed and went to the bathroom to brush my hair.

"this isn't much different than our room" jamie sounded. i walked out and saw trevor sat on my bed, his upper body leaning against the headboard. he was flicking through the channels on the tv. i slid off my sliders and walked towards my be. he held one of his arms out, for me to go to. i say next to him and he wrapped his arm around my waist.

"z we need to leave in like an hour for dinner."

"shit i completely forgot about that" i mentally slapped my forehead. we were going to have dinner with everyone's parents. everyone's.

"i'm gonna see if i can have a quick nap" trevor said, his eyes drooping. i mumbled a small 'okay' and he positioned himself so he was more comfortable. as he was drifting away into sleep i grabbed my book from my bedside table and laced my hands into his hair.

trevor and jamie had gone to their rooms to get changed for dinner mean while sherri and i were contemplating our life choices. i had left my hair to air dry, making it naturally wavy. i was wearing a long, lightweight purple dress that tied around my neck. i buckled my gold sandals and listened to ri rant on about how nervous she was, replying every now and then with a 'mhm'.

we eventually left our room and walked to mum and dad's room, hoping they hadn't gone down yet. as i was about to knock on their door, it opened and my mum bumped into me.

"why were you that close to the door?" she asked.

"because i was gonna knock on it" i said in a 'duhh' tone, making her playfully roll her eyes.

"why didn't you two just meet us downstairs?" dad asked, as we made it way to the lift. sherri and i looked at each other.

"the boys, you know the two from lunch?" they both nodded. "well we thought it would be fun if we had dinner with their parents as well as them" i cleared my throat.

"so are they there right now?" mum asked, referring to dinner.

"yes probably" ri replied.

"great" dad said sarcastically. mum gave him a look and he broke out into a smile. "what? i was just joking"
