the clock on my phone hit 11:00 so me and sherri made our way down to the lobby to meet trevor and jamie there. they were already there, jamie being on his phone, and trevor leaning against the wall. once they noticed us, they both started to walk over to us.

"i see you've almost recovered from last night" trevor said to sherri.

"don't even bring it up" she huffed, pushing her sunglass further up her nose. "so where is this animal sanctuary we're going to?"

"it's like a five minute walk" jamie explained.

"will there be food there?" ri asked.

"yeah, have you had anything to eat?"

"no" sherri replied bluntly.

"why not?"

"because we woke up like fifteen minutes ago" they were already bickering like an old married couple. we started to walk towards the place where we were going.

"i hope there's a shop there. or a stall where they sell souvanirs like shell and beeded bracelets and things like that" i said to trevor, and he nodded.

"sorry i'm only just saying this to you now, but you looked really pretty last night. like realllyyyy pretty" i swear my heart skipped a beat. "i-i mean you look pretty now i just ment you looked extra pretty then" aww.

"thank you trevor, you looked and look nice as well" i smiled up say him. for the rest of the walk there, we talked about anything and everything.

"we're here" sherri said. there was a sign saying it was €6 per person. trevor offered to pay for me, even though i told him i was perfectly capable to pay for myself, he still did it. the animal sanctuary was the cutest thing ever. there was a pathway you were able to walk through while looking at llamas, sloths, koalas, parrots and meerkats. i was terrified of parrots.

"oh my gosh look how cute the sloths are" i said talking to trevor.

"you know you can hold them if you want"

"you can?" i gasped.

"yeah. the sloths and parrots"

"i need to do that. like now" her grabbed my hand and led me in the direction towards the petting area. we got to it and there was a sign that said '€3 a los animales de compañía'. trevor tilted his head at it.

"it's three euros to pet the animals" i said.

"ohh, that makes sense, i can pay"

"no it's okay. you paid for me to get in, so i can pay for you here" i smiled and led the way to the cash desk. i gave the cashier my money and they led us around to the right area. we had to go through a door that had beads for a curtain which was really cool. i gasped once i saw the animals. there were parrots.

"oh gosh" i said to myself.

"what?"

"i don't really like parrots" i answered.

"well we can leave if you-" he suggested.

"no way i want to stay here, that's why i agreed to coming, i want to get over my fear of them." i didn't though. i just didn't want to leave.

"if you want to hold a parrot, you can stay in here and i'll come get one for you. if you'd rather not you can hold a sloth in the room next door instead." the lady said.

"can i hold a parrot?" i asked. the woman nodded and walked over to where the parrots were, a couple flew onto her arm. when she came over to us, she instructed me to hold my arm out, so i did so. the birds were beautiful. they were red with green and blue wings and they had white beaks and  patches around their eyes. i felt claws find my shoulder, a bird had just flown onto my left shoulder. "trevor take a picture so i can show my mum and dad when we get back" he got my phone out of my back pocket and took a couple of pictures. as i got more comfortable around the birds, the calmer i got.

"oh my god" trevor jumped as two parrots few onto both of his shoulders, one of them being the one that was on my arm. i laughed. i took a picture of him smiling with the birds on his shoulders.
