She and me...we both were surrounded by a 'not so good' 50 people crowd!!!

Who kept analysing me and her closely!!!

The Sarpanch and the antique 'wannabe groom grandpa' was still trying to argue with other members of Panchayat saying...

'I was lying!!!'

They kept arguing nonstop while one of the ladies brought a plate full of samosas and hot jalebis and asked us to eat!!

She denied!!! But Samosa and Jalebi seduced me and kept calling me with so much love and affection and I really couldn't deny such a humble request...I tasted a few samosas and relished some jalebis while she kept glaring at me!!!

Oh come on!!! Those uncle's were discussing god alone knows what in Marathi...it was more like someone's forced me to watch a Marathi movie without subtitles. So I convinced myself that even if they attack me I would be happy that I got to eat such delicious samosas!!!

And I don't know why she was behaving like a fish. I hardly ate 14-15 samosas and half a kg of jalebis those were nothing for my diet!!! No wonder she's like a stick!! She probably survives on air!!! So without bothering much I continued munching those samosas happily!!! While she slowly murmured in my ears...

'Its not my baby shower 'Mister Unknown husband' that you are swallowing  these jalebis and samosas like the world is coming to an end and there is no food left on earth!!!' while I shot her a look and rolled my eyes!!!

Suddenly we heard the members clear their throat...

'How do we believe that what you are saying is truth??? I mean we never saw you with Mukta or Chandrakant Bhau (brother)' and I blinked through multiple times wondering who are they talking about...

'Ummmm Mukta??? Who???' and suddenly there was a commotion...

'See Gaikwad...I was right he is a liar he doesn't even know her name' and I bit my tongue...damnnnnn!!!

So that's her name

So pure...

Shutup!!!

Damn I f*cked up!!! I had to cover up quickly!!!

'Yes...she is not Mukta anymore...actually we are Gawd Saraswat Brahmins...so as per our customs after marriage we give a new name to the bride. So we don't call her Mukta...her new name is  something else...' I blabbered and they narrowed their eyebrows...

'Whats her new name?'

Shit!!! What shall I say??? Ummm...

I kept looking here and there trying to find a name...

'Areyyyy tell whats her name after marriage?' and I took a bite of samosa while my eyes fell on the jalebi in my hand and I just blabbered...

'Jalebi...'

And the lady there said...

'Just a minute son I'll get you!!!' and I said it again...

'Jalebi...hehe...Jalebi... that's her name after marriage!!!'

And she shot me a death glare while all the ladies started laughing and whispering...'Jalebi...oh god they named her Jalebi??? Poor girl!!!' while I simply cracked a bite of the Jalebi in my hand!!!

While only drool was left to fall from her growling mouth!!!

Wooow!!! She looks like a she-wolf right now! Who knows if she turns into a werewolf or a witch maybe past midnight!!!

While the old man looked at me passing wierd looks and then at Mukta and said...

'You really named her Ja... Ja... Jalebi' and I knew there will be another question...

'Ummmm yes...yes uncle...I mean look at her... she's so sweet... sugar plum of mine...what else could be better than Jalebi...' and he smiled wierdly saying...

'Ofcourse!!!'

While the Sarpanch and that greedy grandpa groom argued again saying

..

'But why didn't we know about the marriage' and I was quick this time...

'Its the problem in her horoscope uncle...her stars have some complications...they said she is a unlucky and whoever marries her turns into undergoing huge loss in business and in some cases the groom even dies!!!

Even I didn't want to marry her but then my father and his promise he did to her father... and we got married last month!!!'

While they continued their hush hush talks, this time even that old grandpa groom also looked worried and I mentally patted myself for such an awesome storyline!!!

I'm talented indeed!!!

'And baby??? You said she's pregnant??? We dont trust you!!!' the member of Panchayat said and I quipped saying...

'Come on uncle...once people are married babies are bound to happen...I don't think you are that innocent' saying I covered my face with my palms and they cleared their throat.

'Fine...now that Mukta...I mean Jalebi is married...we can't get her married to Govardhan Bhau...' and that old man jumped arguing that we are lying and after some time they came back saying 'What is the proof that she is pregnant?' and I gulped nervously...

'She must take a blood test...'

'Why blood test...let her test using those home pregnancy tests na' and i was shocked!!!

Oh god!!! Now what???

But no one believed us.. she went to the washroom and after some time came out showing the kit to everyone...

I felt like Samosas and Jalebis are finding their way back to my mouth but to my surprise the test was positive!!!

What the hell???

Is she really pregnant??? While this time the lady police officer winked at me as she walked away...

And I looked at Mukta she also smirked.

She wasn't that dumb!!!

She was smart!!!

Suddenly everyone kept hugging us but then came the shocker!!!

'But uncle why are we doing this???' I asked as they made me wear some wrestler's kurta and kept a headgear and said...

'Because the village hadn't seen yours and Mukta...I mean Jalebi's wedding...and what is the big deal...you married her once why not again...this time in Maharastrian style?'

And I really was literally shitting in my pants now!!!

Damnnnn!!! They are getting me married!!!

I was made to sit infront of the holy pyre...I could see the Sarpanch and his brother were shooting daggers at me while suddenly a bunch of ladies came along singing something melodious in marathi and there was a white silk cloth covering my view. I was a huge man...they tried to hold the cloth at a height so I couldn't see her!!!

But my eyes fell on her beautiful mehndi cladded feet which had these heavy anklets and they stopped infront of me... Priests kept singing some hymns and in one go the cloth was put away and my eyes froze as my eyes fell on the most beautiful bride I had ever seen...

I was a goner!!!

In that simple yellow with a tint of red...a tint of green saree... minimal jewellery...hair tied well... those dozens of green glass bangles she looked like an angel!!

Nope!!! Archangel!!!

I didn't know what should I say!!!

Suddenly she lifted her long eyelashes and looked at me with those teary eyes and it pricked me hard!!!

I didn't know how to react!!!

Feel happy that I am getting married to her or feel sad because I didnt know anything about this girl..all I knew was her father died recently...her name is Mukta...the worst!!! She didn't even know my name and here we were

Getting tied into something strange!!!

Destiny Tied us in a knot!!!

I didn't know how to react!!! Yes she is beautiful but women and me...we never go well...we don't even know each other!!! She doesn't have a family now but I have a full fledged Tv serial of a family I'm supposed to answer too...

While I was thinking about all this the priest asked her to make me wear the garland and I was too tall for her. She stood there disinterested even in attempting it and I didn't know why...

I bent to her height bowing down to her and the garland was in my neck.

I kept looking at her those beautiful brownish black eyes who widened and grew to the size of tennis balls and I couldn't help but bite my lips to control my smile. I made her wear the garland too...

We kept doing the rituals while I recalled how things just got back normal between me and dad...and this time I'm going to bring in a bigger blunder!!!

While the priest asked me to fill her hair partition with 'Sindoor' and I did the same...I was passed a nuptial chain...i could see her silently shedding tears but I was helpless!!!

I tied the nuptial chain around her neck with shivering hands and the priest declared us man and wife!!!

I and she looked at each other!!!

Damnnn!!! I was single few hours ago and now suddenly I was married to this woman in the middle of this night???

It's like overnight... now I have a wife!!!
