Chapter 16
She Approved the Split He Fell Apart
016 Gabrielâs Trial Scarlettâs POV âWhat?â I shouldnât have, but I laughed out loud.
Even for Ava, itâs a hit too dramatic.
âYou, want, her, dead,â Gabriel says with a stoneâcold voice. He is actually serious. His gang shoots. the disdain looks as if among them, a group of bullies, Iâm the most wicked.
âDid Ava mention that the last time I saw her was in her dear daddyâs study? With her daddy, mummy, and her Romeo all around her?â
âSo?â Gabriel is not laughing, nor getting my implication.
âSo?â I cock my eyebrow, knowing if I roll my eyes right now I would definitely piss him off so I dare not, So how do you even imagine that I could even lay a finger on her with her army protecting her?â
âYou didnât lay a finger on her?â Gabriel stands up and walks to me in a dangerous stride, his tone getting meaner and colder, âSure, not A finger. You left a fucking handprint on her forearm!â
I frown. I did try to grab her arm, but I barely even closed my grip before Sebastian pushed me down onto the floor. How the hell did I leave anything on her arm?!
âShe was trying to slap me so I grabbed her arm,â I try to explain, knowing if Ava really was âhurtâ, then today I wonât be able to leave in one piece, âand Sebastian pushed me away before I could even-
I gasp as Gabriel pours his drink down my head.
The spicy smell of the alcohol stings my eyes. I wiped my eyes in panic, and this move saved Gabrielâs slap from landing on my face. It landed on my arm and I fell backward.
âHe is right to have pushed you! Or you would have been dead by now!â Gabriel growls at .. I sit on the floor, dare not to stand up. He doesnât like it when I fight back for myself. I canât take my baby into a fight I canât win.
My heart pumping fast in my chest. Whatâs Aurora doing?! She would drop everything if she saw Code Red. But even if she didnât see my message, she should have been here by now.
âStand up,â Gabriel orders.
âWhat do you want?â I demand, scared as hell. Could I run, if he tried to get physical? Do I have a chance? But if I donât...he might not kill me, but he would definitely hurt the baby!
Lazily, Gabriel pulls out his phone and points its camera at me.
âStand up,â Gabrielâs tone gets grumpier, âdonât be scared, little bunny. I just want an apology video from you.â
I stand up slowly. I have been apologizing to Ava for âbullying herâ all my life. I donât care if I have to do it again to protect my baby.
âScarlett F,â Gabriel starts. He refuses to call me by HIS last name. Talking into his camera himself first, he continues, âYou broke a vase in Dadâs study, leaving shards on the ground, do you object?â
016 Gabrielâs Trial +26 BONUS I see where this is going.
âNo, it is true,â I answer as how he wants.
âThen, you said nasty things first to Mom, then to Ava, trying to get her into a fight with you, do you object?â
I didnât want a fight with Ava. Admitting that would only add more items to my crime list. But I donât see objecting do me any good.
âNo, I donât object.â
âAre you aware that even just a small cut on her finger could endanger Avaâs life?â Gabriel enjoys his game. So does his gang.
âShe is healed,â I answer. A small cut wonât make her bleed to death now.
Gabriel looks up from his phone, staring at me with his creepy evil grin.
âYes, Iâm aware,â I change my answer.
âSo,â Gabriel smiles with satisfaction, Bunu are now charged with the attempt on Avaâs life, do y An you object?â
âNo, I donât object,â I sigh, just wanting to get this over with.
âGood girl,â Gabriel grins, focusing his camera on me, ânow strip.â
What?! I open my eyes wide, not sure if I heard him right.
âStrip, or Iâll do it for you,â Gabriel says slowly, in that dangerous tone, âyou didnât think you could get away with such a horrible behavior just by saying a few lines of bullshit that you donât even believe yourself, do you?â
âI did not attack her!â I shout into his camera. I donât want to give him the satisfaction, but tears of humiliation are brimming my eyes. He has always been an asshole, but never pushed it this far.
I knew my life would be in hell mode now, Because Ava doesnât need blood transfusions from me like daily meals anymore.
âYou need a lesson you can remember,â Gabriel judges coldly, âRelax. I wonât spread the video. You bear my last name after all.
But if the next time you dare to touch Ava again, you can be sure that I will!â
In my desperation of realizing that he is serious about this, he strides over.
