Chapter Wife 120
The Cherished Wife (Noelle and Charles)
Chapter 120 âJust keep them!â Charles looked at Noelle. âYou shouldnât feel bad about it!â
âYouâre not even a little surprised? Twenty percent is a lot. Thatâs more than what Winter got!âNoelle had her own thoughts about it. She had argued with her parents and Winter before, but shenever really wanted to cut ties completely with them. She just did not want to fight with Winteranymore. However, Samuel had suddenly given her a big chunk of the company, and that meantthings were going to get shaky.
Noelle was not one to fuss over shares. Actually, the way the Shaw family had treated her made herstop caring about such superficial things.
âYou do realize that with these shares, the Shaw family could be in for some big changes, right?â
Charles chuckled and tapped his fingers on the steering wheel. âItâs not as bad as you think. SirShaw must have his reasons for doing this. Itâs just you and Winter, his two granddaughters, andJoshuaâs overseas, If the company went to someone else, all of your grandpaâs hard work would bewasted. Heâs just being careful by giving you the shares now.â
âHow do you know all this?â
Noelle looked up, shocked, staring at Charles. This was her familyâs private business. Outsiderswere not supposed to know the details, but Charles seemed clued in. âHow do you know aboutJoshua and what my grandpa is thinking?â
Charles just smiled a little and said, âItâs not that tough to figure out! Anyway, are you hungry?â
Thatâs when Noelle remembered she had not eaten anything since she left work. She nodded.âHave you eaten yet?â
Charles gave a soft laugh. âI havenât eaten yet either. Where do you want to go?â
âHmm.â Noelle paused to think. âHow about we eat out today?â
âSure. Itâs getting late anyway. We could go back and eat, but it might be a rush with all the groceryshopping and cooking,â Charles said, not really minding either way.
âLetâs eat out, then. Is spicy barbecue okay?â Noelle asked a bit nervously. She was not quite surewhat kinds of food Charles liked, and she was a big fan of spicy dishes.
âSounds good to me!â Charles agreed with a smile. âWhere do you have in mind? Just tell me whereit is!â
Noelle mentioned a restaurant she used to go to a lot. Charles did not know the way, so Noellescooted closer to type it into the navigation. âItâs not too far, actually. Itâs near Vista University. Doyou know the shopping mall behind the university?â
Charles raised an eyebrow and nodded. âLooks like you had a lot of fun when you were a student!âHe was familiar with the mall since it was owned by the Hoffman family.
Noelle scratched her head, feeling a little shy. âYeah, my friends and I would hang out heresometimes. Itâs close to the university, so we came here a lot. The prices were good too. But Ihavenât been here much since graduating.â
She sounded cheerful as she talked about it, but then she looked a little sad. âItâs just Rowena andTeresa, my two best friends. Maybe I can introduce you to them sometime?â
1/2 +15 BONUS âThatâd be great!â Charles said with a nod. It was not often that Noelle was so easy to get alongwith. Whenever youâre ready!â He was waiting for the day she would really let him into her heart.
Noelle sighed quietly to herself. She did not think Charles was like what everyone else described.
â
Charles drove smoothly, and in about half an hour, they pulled up to the shopping center near VistaUniversity. The shop Noelle had talked about had been around for a long time, ever since the mallfirst opened its doors.
