Poison Food

Chapter 8

For the whole morning, Ashlyn didn't do anything. She was just reading and drinking tea in the garden while appreciating the flowers there. Ashlyn wasn't alone she was tailed by her personal maid Mirya.

Until lunch is reached, she was summoned again to eat with her family. This time her father and brothers were there. She was not late or early she was just at the right time. Again, she sat beside his father, opposite her brother's chair. The food was served. Just like in her lifetimes Mirya was the one who serves, her food. And just like it, her food had poison on it.

While eating Ashlyn was feeling the side effects of the poison. The poison's process is like this when someone eats or planted the poison in his/her body. After 2 minutes he/she will feel a headache, difficulty of breathing, making his/her blood cold as ice, and stomachache but it will just hurt your stomach like a needle prickling it and not diarrhea. Afterward, it will continue having the side effects until his/her headache is severe it will drive the person's head crazy. At the same time his/her blood will make him/her cold making her/his blood hurt inside. But if the person who takes that poison is used to it, it will be easy for him/her to take it. But still, this poison is dangerous it can kill you. Ashlyn on the other hand has been eating this poison since her first reincarnation so it should be easy for her. And she was fed with an anti-poisoning pill by Tristan her comrade before her fifth lifetime. The side effects well the pill can't remove it but it can't kill her from other poisons just the side effects like flu, her body will become cold as ice, headache, etc.

"Ashlyn, starting tomorrow someone will be teaching you about being a lady of this house. The history of the family, empire, royal family, and other things." Her father said while eating. Ashlyn couldn't speak she just smile while nodding. Ashlyn was sensuous about her stomach hurting. She didn't show it, she was gripping her dress restraining the pain. Her brothers, glance at her she just smiled at them and they went back to eat.

They finish eating. Ashlyn didn't show how hurriedly she goes to her room. She said to Mirya that come back if it's already dinner time. She also said she wants to sleep. Then Mirya just nodded and ran to her room. Mirya didn't know if her lady was feeling the pain of the poison. Yet she was feeling happy with guilt on it. She didn't know if it was the right thing to do. To poison her lady. While Ashlyn was kneeling on the ground, gripping the bedsheet. She was faintly screaming of pain. After her pain, she fixes the bed sheets and the pillows that were fallen. First, she drank water then sleep on the bed to relieve the pain.

It was already dinner time. Mirya knocks on the door waking Ashlyn up. Ashlyn changes her dress to a long-sleeve, green-jade dress. With accessories of a golden earring and hairpins. She came out of her room. "Mirya, are my father and brothers are eating now?" she asked then forcefully smile to not see how she is still in pain. "No, my lady, the master, and young masters are not there yet." She plainly said, Ashlyn just nodded. While walking Mirya was insulting her in her head 'What a bitch. If lady Charlotte didn't disappear you wouldn't be here. You're such a jinx the master and young masters are always fighting because of you. It was right to ruin your room and put poison in your food. I will always do this to you. You bastard' she angrily said to herself.

When they reach the dining room, her brothers and father were not there. One of the maids said to her that her father will not eat with her because he was at the palace and her brother Ezekiel was in the study, her brother Adrian was training with the knights. But Ashlyn knew it was a lie that her father was at the palace. Still, Ashlyn ate alone. She ate the poisoned food. Afterward, she came back to her room. She slept early to relieved the pain.

Someone was in front of Ashlyn's room. "Adrian, is this, even right? We intentionally didn't eat with her. And lied that father is at the palace when he is sleeping in his room tiredly. I know she is not our real sister, she's just a substitute. But still, we can't treat her like that." Ezekiel calmly said not wanting anyone to hear or disturbed Ashlyn sleeping."Brother, don't be guilty. Just like you said 'she is just a substitute'. A fake lady. So, it's just the right thing to do that to her. Will make everyone hate her. So, don't be guilty." He smirkingly said "You know I don't usually be with you and your pranks. But this is way out of the line. Don't be absurd. She's still young. Don't let her experience does kind of things. I can see she is kind" Adrian was pissed at what his brother was saying. "Come on brother. Don't be weak. Your, not like the brother I know. My brother is cold, quiet, and strict. Not like now you are being soft-hearted at that bastard. Brother just goes with the flow with me." He said while clenching his teeth "*his tone was cold* Do not get me too involve when you do your tricks. I can be with you in some of your pranks but not your pranks that will hurt her. I will not protect you from punishments if you do anything way out of the line. Remember this you will regret one day doing these things to her *then walked away*" Adrian ran towards his brother and put his right hand on his brother's shoulder while walking "Brother I know you're worried but don't worry because I won't be regretting it. She will, she will regret staying here in this house." His brother was in silence. He didn't want to answer. Why can't his young brother saw how kind her little sister is? Ezekiel was following Ashlyn since her first day here. She saw she was purely kind, quiet, elegant, and have manners. She is really lady-like, she's like a princess in every angle Ezekiel sees it.
