“We’re all here now. If you fall, we’ll have to take care of another one. Nico will definitely take Benny to treat the wound. Let’s go check out Joshua’s medical room.”

The little one’s face was filled with utmost seriousness, making her reddened eyes exceptionally adorable.

A bandage was wrapped around Benedict’s lower leg, which left Gwendolyn feeling somewhat uneasy.

As soon as Zendaya saw her mother coming, she immediately bounced off the bed and reached out for a hug, “Mommy, hug me.”

Holding his precious daughter in her arms, Gwendolyn looked at Joshua with a hint of worry and asked, “How is Benny? Are his injuries serious?”

Joshua said, “There’s nothing to worry about, Gwendolyn. It’s just a minor scrape. Children recover quickly, so the bandage can be removed tomorrow morning. Just remember not to get it wet during this time, and avoid eating anything spicy.”

Cedrick picked up Benedict, and the family of four walked out of the medical office.

The incident happened so abruptly that neither Nico nor Joshua had time to react before Benedict was injured.

However, Nico took all the blame upon himself. Before Gwendolyn could say anything, he immediately apologized, “I’m sorry, Gwendolyn. It’s all my fault. I was too careless and didn’t manage to hold on to the two kids, which led to Benny getting hurt. I’m very sorry.”

Indeed, Benedict had always been in poor health and required a lot of care. He was at fault because the child got hurt under his watch.

Nico hung his head low, filled with self-reproach. “Cedrick, Gwendolyn, all of this is my fault. I failed to take good care of Benny.”

Gwendolyn was left somewhat bemused by his actions, wondering how he could possibly blame himself for her child’s mischievous behavior.

Gwendolyn chuckled, and she could guess what Zendaya wanted to do.

In the next moment, Zendaya climbed onto Nico’s back, swinging her legs, and said, “Since it’s a punishment from Daddy, is it okay for me to act as Uncle Nico’s weight-bearing?”

The sudden extra weight made Nico want to laugh and cry at the same time, but he couldn’t refuse it.

Resigned to his fate, he continued with the punishment.

In no time, he had completed three hundred push-ups. Drenched in sweat, Nico smoothly stood up.

Apart from the slight panting, everything was done with ease.

Zendaya immediately clapped her hands and cheered, “Uncle Nico, you’re so amazing! My daddy can do it too!”

Seeing that the little girl was about to get himself into trouble, Cedrick quickly picked her up, saying, “All right, Zendy. Benny needs to go back to the hospital room. We should also head back.”
