Chapter 39
My Wife Is A Masquerade Master
Madison thought that after divorcing Neville, she could let go of the past, but every time she met Neville, she could still be hurt by his words. She had loved him for ten years. If she wanted to completely erase him from her mind, it would be a heartâwrenching and boneâchilling pain.
She knew Neville had been watching her. She stubbornly straightened her back but, when making a phone call, her voice choked. âMargaret, have Timothy come to pick me up.â
ant to show a any Just crossing this street had exhausted her. She had no strength left to drive, but she didnât want signs of embarrassment in front of Neville.
As Madisonâs secretary for many years, Margaret had come to share a kind of silent agreement with her. Not prying into the situation, she simply said, âAll right. Give me the address.â
After she hung up the phone, Madisonâs fingers trembled, and it took several attempts to share the address.
Closing her eyes, Madison took a deep breath, forcing herself not to recall every word Neville had said.
Neville kept staring at her. Though only separated by a street, he felt Madison was getting farther away.
This realization made him inexplicably restless. He wanted to smoke but found the cigarette boxâempty.
Micah handed him a cigarette and grinned. âYou didnât let others provoke her, but you have provoked her what? Suffer a loss?â
Neville lit the cigarette, took a deep drag, and said harshly, âAre you a spy planted by Madison next to me?â
Micah seemed to go against him these days, openly or subtly defending Madison.
Micah shrugged and said, âIâd love to be. But she might not need me.â
toâm Neville squinted coldly, and Micah shrank his neck. âJust kidding. Iâm just standing up for her. After all, she almost died on the operating table for you back then. The Preston family even bought her a grave.
This way, you repay the favor, gain a good reputation in the circle, and can marry another suitable woman with prestige.
âMadison isnât stupid. She knows your tricks, but she still married you when she survived and ever let bygones be bygones. Yet, for the past three years, youâve been indifferent to her, and your mom treats her like a maid.

Neville took a harsh drag of his cigarette. He didnât know the details of the situation. But his indifference indirectly fueled Reginaâs and Daisyâs arrogance.
Neville puffed smoke in annoyance and said, âI offered her 60 million dollars, and she refused.â
âThere are only two possibilities for that.â
Neville coldly said, âStop beating around the bush.â
âFirst, she is disheartened by you and feels sick even by seeing you. Second, she is unwilling to give up and deliberately makes you feel indebted to her. As time goes by, your guilt will increase, and you will put her in your mind.â
Micah suddenly smirked and asked, âWhich possibility do you think it is?â
Neville felt Micahâs analysis was reasonable. After some serious thought, he said firmly, âThe second one.â
âCongratulations. You still have a chance. She was playing a hardâtoâget game. Highâend hunters often join the hunting as prey.â
Hearing Micahâs analysis, Neville was less restless. âI wonât let her succeed.â
He looked up at Madison, seemingly waiting for a ride on the side of the road, and contemplated whether to. lower himself and give her a lift.
Micah suddenly exclaimed, âNeville, look at the dazzling sports car across the street. It is Koenigsegg!
Iâve been eyeing it for a long time, but a damn guy got it for 80 million dollars!â
Following his line of sight, Neville glimpsed Madison getting into the Koenigsegg with the help of an old man. The man had a bald head and a big belly and was dressed in a suit, looking wealthy.
Madison let him assist her, even lowering her head to say a few words to him. The two seemed to have a close elationship.
leville frowned and looked sullen when he saw this.

Daisyâs excited voice was heard. âNeville, I told you, Madison canât live without a man.â
Micah kept signaling to her, but she continued, âI thought her taste would have improved after three years in the Preston family. Unexpectedly, she hooked up with an old man. That old man must have newly acquired wealth, He canât compare to you.â
Micah tried to stop her, but Daisy wasnât aware of it and added, âSheâs such a gold digger, willing to accompany an old man for money. Doesnât she find it disgusting?â
Neville said coldly, âShut up!â
Daisy was startled. Only then did she notice Nevilleâs frosty face.
No man could endure being cuckolded.
Daisy thought, âBut Madison didnât shy away from it. Neville will feel nauseated whenever he thinks of her from now on. There was no chance for her to marry into the Preston family again.â
Micah said, âIt might be a misunderstanding. Shall I help you check who owns that car?â
Nevilleâs eyes flashed with a coldness, âWe are divorced. If she wants to degrade herself, I donât want to intervene.â
He walked to the car and slammed the door loudly.
With a thunderous roar, the car sped away, quickly disappearing from sight.
Daisy bit her lips and said, âMicah, I have to trouble you to give me a ride.â
Micah said, âDonât, Daisy. I have to go pick up the girls. Itâs inconvenient to take with you.â
After saying this, Micah drove away, leaving Daisy standing on the street alone.
She stomped her foot in frustration. Every time she met Madison, she would be unlucky.
After Madison left, she posted the humiliating words Daisy said to her online.
It was time to let everyone know how arrogant Daisy was.
