Chapter 37
My Wife Is A Masquerade Master
Madison turned to the students and said, âGirls, itâs fine if you donât want to pay the money, but you may not afford to offend Ms. Preston. If the Preston family holds you accountable, you wonât be able to escape unscathed.â
Only now did Kara and the others realize that they had been fooled by Daisy. They were filled with anger, and hearing Madisonâs words made them hate Daisy.
âDaisy, what do you mean? It was you who asked us to help you vent your anger. You even promised to give each of us a Collins bag when things were settled!â
âWe had no grudges against Miss Guzman. Everything we did was for you. You even suggested that she streak, making her lose her reputation in Norton.â
Madison smiled and looked at Daisy, saying, âMs. Preston, what terrible thing have I done to make you scheme against me like this?â
The gazes of the onlookers toward Daisy carried a hint of fierceness.
âThe young lady has a powerful background and looks noble. But I didnât expect her to be so malicious.
âThe Preston family is a centuryâold wealthy family in Norxton, but it may not be as decent as it looks.â
Despite harboring deep hatred for Madison, Daisy remembered Reginaâs words. She could never expose the relationship between Madison and Neville.
She vented her resentment on Kara and the others, pushing them. âYou poor things, donât slander me!
The people I befriend are either rich or noble. But what are you? Donât shift the blame!â
âDaisy, turns out youâve always looked down on us, even though we stood up for you!â
âDonât think you can avoid responsibility. If it werenât for you, we wouldnât be burdened with massive debts, becoming the laughingstock of everyone!â
âLet go of me!â Daisy screamed.
The enraged girls surrounded Daisy, hitting her hard.
She was overpowered by the girls, with Raquel and others holding down her arms and legs. Several loud slaps. landed on Daisyâs face, which turned red and swollen immediately.
âShit, let me go! My brother is Neville. You poor bastards are done for!â
Madison was extremely satisfied with the fight. Suddenly, she thought of Neville being present and looked up at him.
Coincidentally, Neville was also looking at her, and their eyes met.
Madison was slightly surprised. She knew Neville didnât like his sister, but he wouldnât leave her alone.
However, now he seemed like an outsider, watching Daisy being beaten without any intention of intervening.
Madison thought, âHe is such a coldâhearted man. No wonder he could be so ruthless to me in the past three years.â
Madison revealed a relieved smile.
Little did she know that her smile carried a unique charm. In the midst of the fight, she seemed to stand aloof from the worldly mess.
But Neville felt a tickle in his throat. He raised his hand, irritably tugging at his collar.
Micah reminded him, âNeville, your exâwife has vented her anger, and Daisy was punished. Thatâs enough.â
Neville gave him a cold glance.
He didnât know why Micah thought he was helping Madison vent her anger. He just wanted to give Dalsy a good. lesson. As a noble lady, she should know what to do and what not. What she did just now had brought shame to the family.
âTell your people to disperse the onlookers and warn them not to leak a word about todayâs events,â
Neville said.
âFine, Iâll handle this.â
Micah walked up and pulled Daisy out of the crowd. A carefree smile was on his face as he said, âEveryone, have you had enough of the excitement? Please delete the photos and videos from your phones. If you dare to leak a single word of what happened today, you know the consequences.â
In Norxton, everyone knew that Micah was not easy to mess with. What was more, the one beaten was the noble lady of the Preston family. They couldnât afford to offend both the Myers family and the Preston family.
After everyone deleted the photos and left, Micah noticed that Kara and the other students were still around. He raised an eyebrow and said, âWhat are you still standing there for? If the Preston familyâs lawyer arrives, none of you will be able to leave.â
Kara and the others shivered at once. They had just beaten Daisy.
The Preston family was prestigious, and Neville was so ruthless. They didnât expect that they could leave unscathed.
Fearing falling into Nevilleâs hands, the girls quickly left.
Daisyâs clothes were disheveled, her face swollen, and her makeup smeared, making her look embarrassed.
She had never been in such a sorry state before, and she blamed all of this on Madison. âBitch, if it werenât for you sowing discord, these idiots wouldnât have laid a hand on me!â
After being beaten, Daisy finally understood that Madisonâs target wasnât those poor girls but her.
Madison didnât deny it and just sneered. âQuite interesting, blaming others for your own mistake.
If Daisy hadnât schemed against Madison, Madison wouldnât have fought back..
Daisy rushed towards Madison and said angrily, âYou bitch! Why did Neville marry you?â
Neville was implicated by Daisyâs words. He walked over with a stern face, pulling her hard.
âDo you want to be even more of a disgrace?â
Daisy, with teary eyes, said grievously, âNeville, you saw it. This bitch has been plotting against me, wanting to see me embarrassedâ¦â
Neville coldly interrupted, âShut up!â
Daisy, frightened by his anger, held back her tears.
Neville felt a headache. He massaged his temples and said, âApologize to her.â
Both Madison and Daisy were stunned.
Madison was surprised because whenever Daisy and Regina complained to Neville, he would punish Madison without distinguishing right from wrong. However, he didnât show any bias towards Daisy today.
Daisy, on the other hand, never expected Neville to make her apologize to Madison.
âNeville, do you know what you are saying? Iâm the one who was falsely accused and beaten. Why should I apologize to her?â
âDonât make me repeat myself.â
Daisy knew she couldnât argue with Neville. But the person she despised the most was Madison.
Apologizing to Madison would be equivalent to humiliating herself.
Daisy suddenly had an idea and said softly, âCan I apologize to Miss Guzman in private?â
Micah patted Nevilleâs shoulder and said, âNeville, she didnât want to lose face. Let them solve the problem themselves.â
Neville, seeing Madison not giving him extra glances, felt a sudden tightness in his chest. He wanted to go out and get some fresh air.
As soon as the two left, Daisy turned sinister and said, âMadison, who do you think you are? You want me to apologize to you, huh? Dream on!â
Madison was used to her fickle behavior and said calmly, âDaisy, it seems youâve got it wrong. Iâm giving you a chance.â
âWhat a joke! I am from the Preston family. If you want to return to the Preston family, the first person you have to beg is me!â
