Chapter 31
My Wife Is A Masquerade Master
Micah had no choice but to hand over his phone.
Neville reluctantly clicked on the video, only to be met with a distressing scene. A crowd had gathered around Madison, their voices urging her to streak. The men looked Madison up and down and wore a creepy and expectant smile.
Neville flared up. Since Madison left him, she constantly found herself in trouble. He wondered why she had the courage to divorce him.
Despite being besieged by the crowd, Madison remained composed. She swept the crowd coldly and calmly, not showing sighs of panic.
Neville wanted to poke out the eyes of those men in the video.
Seeing Nevilleâs darkening face, Micah hastily snatched his phone back, for fear that Neville might break his phone.
âNeville, calm down. Letâs play golf,â Micah said.
Neville was getting gloomier and glanced at Micah. âArenât you going to watch the streaking? Donât miss it.â
Micah felt a chill throughout his body and dryly said, âI suddenly remembered that I have some work to handle at the company. I have to go now. Enjoy the golf.â
It would be terrifying if Neville was angry.
As Micah turned to leave, Neville grabbed the back of his collar and said, âSince the show is about to begin, it would be a pity not to watch.â
He forcefully dragged Micah into the car.
Micah tidied up his clothes and said, âNeville, you canât let go of your exâwife, right?â
Neville instructed the driver to go and then gave Micah a cold look. âNo wonder you have bad taste.â
Micah twitched his lips. His girlfriends were all beauties. Even the media praised his good taste. How did he become someone with poor taste just because he complimented Madisonâs figure and appearance?
âThen why canât you sit still when you hear something related to your exâwife?â asked Micah.
Neville said, âJust like you said, donât miss it.â
She claimed she would thrive after leaving him. Now he wanted to see what she could do.
Micah chuckled. âNeville, youâre ruthless. You actually left her penniless. Now, she was laughed at by wearing a knockoff bag. Others might think you mistreat her if they donât know the inside story.â
Neville, annoyed, tugged at his collar. âCan you just shut up?â
He had thought about compensating Madison for the divorce, but every time he saw her, she was sharp- tongued. He wouldnât beg her to take his money.
Neville could allow Madison to play a tantrum occasionally. However, if she went too far, he wouldnât indulge her. He wouldnât give her the wrong message that only being a coquettish woman could get his attention.
Daisy hid behind a potted plant, aiming her phone at Madison, waiting for her to embarrass herself.
Daisy not only posted a photo of Madison with a knockoff bag on the internet but also tagged Collinsâ
official account. She deliberately informed several famous social media influencers, telling them someone was about to streak.
The influencers, who wanted to increase followers, rushed over when they heard that there was something exciting to cover. They pointed their cameras at Madison.
They became more excited when they saw Madison who outshone female stars in terms of temperament, figure, and look. This could be the perfect hook to attract more followers.
The crowd was in an uproar.
âBeauty, your bag is fake. Keep your promise and streak.â
âExactly. The society will be in chaos if everyone goes back on their words like you.â
âHurry up. Itâs so hot here. Donât keep us waiting.â
Madison swept a lazy and indifferent gaze over everyone. It seemed she wasnât a loser but a carefree queen, showing no signs of embarrassment.
âI can take off my clothes, but I charge a lot. Iâm afraid you wonât be able to afford it.â
Someone couldnât wait and shouted, âHow much do you want?â
Madison played with her nails and said lazily, âJust 20 billion dollars.â
Laughter and mockery filled the crowd.
âStrippers only charge 400 dollars a night, and that includes full service.â
âInteresting. A woman wearing knockoff goods still has the audacity to charge 20 billion dollars. Who gave you the guts?â
Neville and Micah arrived just in time to hear Madison asking for 20 billion dollars.
Micah couldnât help but chuckle. âNeville, your ex sure thinks highly of herself. Even if you gave her compensation, she probably wouldnât think itâs enough.â
Neville became more sullen and looked fierce.
He was focused on something different, not the amount of 20 billion dollars. What surprised him was that Madison was willing to sell herself for money.
He walked towards Madison, grabbing her wrist and dragging her towards a secluded spot.
Madison didnât expect Neville to appear. She stumbled and almost fell. His grip was so strong that it felt like he might break her wrist.
âNeville, let go of me!â
Neville pulled her to a shelving unit and forcefully flung her hand away.
Madison hit heavily on the shelf, and her back felt a searing pain.
Items on the shelf rained down on her head and body, causing her to gasp in pain.
Madison said angrily, âAre you out of your mind again? I told you not to interfere with my life.â
Neville suddenly reached out, firmly clasping the shelving unit behind her, and imprisoned her between the shelf and him.
His handsome face was close, and Madison could see his perfect jawline.
Even though she had let him go, Madison couldnât help but sneak another glance at him. After all, she fell for him initially because of this face that could drive all the noble ladies crazy.
But Nevilleâs words dampened her mood. âMadison, didnât you say you would live a better life without me? Why are you in such a hurry to sell yourself?â
His words stabbed at her heart, and Madison coldly replied, âYou donât know the story before you judge me. How stupid and arrogant you are.â
He was so arrogant that he always treated what he thought and saw as facts.
In the past three years, Regina and Daisy were indeed villains, but he was their accomplice. The real person who hurt her was him.
Seeing that her eyes were wet, Neville suddenly felt heartbroken.
He impatiently clenched his fingers and said, âHow much compensation do you want?â
