Pampered By Power: The True Heiress Returns
Chapter 98 Chapter 98 ས 3,70% +13 In the living room, Elysia went through the design plans and picked one to hand over to Caius. âIâll be heading to Shecrity in a few days, so you can start the work then,â she said. âGot it, Ms. Elysia Rosewood,â Caius answered. After he left, Bella walked in looking angry and immediately asked, âYouâre remodeling the bedroom?â âYeah,â Elysia replied. Bella frowned when she heard that. The room used to be Emmaâs. She had carefully decorated it, picking out every piece of furniture herself. Elysia couldnât just change it on a whim. Even though she wasnât happy, Bella tried to hide her frustration. âWhy suddenly remodel a perfectly good room?â she asked. âItâs a nice room, but it wasnât designed to my taste. It just doesnât feel right.â âYou...â Bella pointed at her, about to scold her, but the words got stuck when Elysia shot her a cold, icy look. The stare was so harsh that Bella couldnât speak. Elysia gave her a sidelong glance and teased, âAm I wrong? It didnât feel off to you? Or are you upset because it used to be Emmaâs room? âI can tell that room was carefully decorated, and the furniture wasnât cheap. Now you have to watch me replace everything, piece by piece. Bet that doesnât feel great, huh? âIâm actually curious. Why are you so good to an adopted daughter? Could it be... that sheâs your real daughter?â Bella froze, looking tense.
âWhat are you talking about?â she snapped. Seeing Bellaâs nervous reaction, Elysia smiled mischievously. âWhy are you so jumpy? Did I hit a nerve?â âStop talking nonsense,â Bella shot back. âOkay,â Elysia said, grinning as she headed upstairs. With the way Bella reacted, Elysia felt something was off and decided sheâd have to dig into it. Maybe then everything would make sense. Back in her room, Elysia pulled a black box from under her bed and took out her modified laptop. She powered it on, typed in the password, and opened a page. Her fingers flew over the keyboard, and lines of code appeared on the screen. She successfully hacked into the schoolâs surveillance system. She found the footage from the classroom of Class 6, and adjusted the time to match the day of the basketball game. Smirking, Elysia watched the footageâjust as she expected. 1/3 12:46 Sun, FED Chapter 98 70% +13 After copying the video, she wrote an anonymous letter explaining what happened, attached the video, and sent it to Leviâs email. Once she was done, she leaned back in her chair, casually playing with the USB drive in her hand, looking completely relaxed. She didnât care much about what Levi would do with the letter, but she was pretty sure the school wouldnât just ignore it. Because of her actions, she ended up causing such a huge problem for the school, and Levi wasnât going to let her off easy. This time, Grace was on her own to fix it. When Levi saw the email, he clicked it open without thinking, but as soon as he saw it, his face tightened. So what happened this afternoon wasnât just a student picking up the wrong drawing tube, but someone had purposely swapped two paintings. He watched the video of the girlâs actions, and his frown deepened into a scowl. If this was true, the school couldnât let a student with such bad morals stay. Plus, all the time and energy the school had wasted because of her little stuntâdid she think the school was some kind of playground? Levi rubbed his temples, went to the security room, and after checking the surveillance footage from the day of the incident, his expression turned even darker.
This student had to face serious consequences. The next morning, Graceâs punishment was posted on the school bulletin board, drawing a crowd of students. âGrace was in Class 2, right?â âI used to be her classmate, but I never thought sheâd be this kind of person. Sheâs got such a twisted mind.â âYeah, she actually dared to swap the paintings. I was wondering why that announcement got taken down so fast. Turns out Vincentâs chosen disciple wasnât Ava.â âIf it wasnât Ava, why havenât they posted a new announcement about who it is?â âWho knows...â As Grace walked through the school gates, she saw a crowd gathered around the bulletin board, and a bad feeling immediately hit her. âGrace,â someone from the crowd recognized her and frowned. When the others heard âGraceâ, they all turned to look at her. Seeing a girl with pigtails and blackâframed glasses standing there, they all made faces of disgust. âThatâs Grace?â âSheâs a mess, inside and out.â âYeah, I think âprobationâ is way too soft a punishment for her.â 2/3 12:42 San, 9 Feb Chapter 98 70% +13 When Grace heard the word âprobationâ, her heart skipped a beat. She didnât care about the whispers and stares around her and pushed her way through the crowd. When she saw the notice on the redâheaded document saying she was on probation, her heart dropped. So that incident had been exposedâand so quickly. She clenched her fists, and tears started to well up in her eyes. âGrace, you really surprised me.â
âStealing little things here and there, youâve probably done that a lot, huh?â âThereâs a saying that âCats hide their claws. Youâve really got some bad intentions.â Hearing the mocking comments around her, Grace lowered her head, pushed through the crowd, and ran out. In Class 6, when they found out Grace had been punished, the whole class went crazy. âI never thought Grace was this kind of person. I never liked her.â âShe always seemed so shy, but I didnât know she was so nasty inside.â âGrace, talk about making an impressionânow sheâs the schoolâs biggest celebrity, but not in a good way,â a guy said, laughing out loud. The others joined in, laughing as well. Grace was already at the door of the classroom. When she heard the laughter coming from inside, she stopped. She gripped the straps of her backpack tightly, her head lowered, and tears started to fall. A student saw her standing at the door and quickly stopped laughing, tapping his friend who was still laughing. The laughter in the classroom slowly died down, and all eyes turned to Grace. âGrace, how dare you even show up in class?â a boy said. And once he started, the others joined in. âYeah, have some shame!â âYou actually framed a classmate. Youâve got some nerve. If I were you, Iâd have run as far away as possible.â
