Chapter 7
Pampered By Power: The True Heiress Returns
Chapter 7 Emma scrolled through the comments and saw that most people were siding with Elysia. A few folks tried to support her and her friends, but their comments got drowned out by all the positive feedback for Elysia. Some even faced harsh replies for defending her.
Emma started to get anxious. If Mia hadnât brought her up in the video, she couldâve just stayed out of it, playing the part of a clueless bystander.
Later, she couldâve said it was all a big misunderstanding, that her friends were just trying to support her. The people online mightâve felt bad for her.
But now that Mia had linked her to the whole thing, it was gonna be a lot harder for her to get out of it.
Bella had watched the video too and was shocked when she heard Natalie say that because of Elysiaâs return, she and Scott were neglecting Emma.
Having spent years in elite social circles, she was no stranger to the drama. It didnât take her long to figure out who had let that info out She glanced at Emma, who was sitting beside her. Unless Emma had let something slip or acted differently in front of her friends, they couldnât have known the details.
But Bella had always treated Emma well, often putting her needs ahead of her own daughterâs. She couldnât imagine what had Emma told her friends. âWhat did Natalie mean by that, Emma?â she asked.
Emma looked surprised at first but quickly understood what Bellh was getting at. Tears welled up in her eyes as she gazed at Bella.
She whispered, âI donât know why Natalie would say that. When Elysia came back, I had to move rooms, So, I wasnât in a good mood, and they might have misunderstood.â
The mention of the room hit Bella hard. She felt a pang of guilt part of her wanted to blame Emma, but it was just too difficult.
Emma had always been treated like a princess and had never dealt with anything like this before. Bella always blamed herself for not protecting Emma better in that room situation:
Bella let out a sigh in her mind. âAnyway, this is just a little thing The truth doesnât really matter. I might as well just forget about it.
At the Moore residence in Sivro, Zachary pointed at Natalie and shouted, âHow could I have a child like you? With your head, youâd probably thank someone for selling you out!â
âI didnât do anything wrong. It was all that witch Elysiaâs fault. If werenât for her, none of this wouldâve happened,â Natalie retorted.
Zachary was really fired up and slapped Natalie hard across the face.
Charlotte rushed over to protect Natalie, feeling heartbroken at the sight of Natalieâs swollen cheek. âYou couldâve just talked it out. Why resort to violence?â

Natale insisted, âWhy canât I say that? Elysiaâs a total wretch. If it werenât for her, Emma wouldnât be getting bullied. Iâm Standing up for Emma.â
Zachary raised his hand to hit Natalie again, but Charlotte quickly stepped in front of her, her voice filled with anger. âIf you want to hit someone, go for me instead. Just leave Natalie out of this.â
Zachary sighed in frustration, lowering his hand and looking at the two of them with exasperation. âYou know, just because you protect her this way, she acted recklessly and caused all this trouble.
Then he turned to Natalie and asked, âWho told you that Emma was being bullied?â
âOf course, it was Emma herself, replied Natalie.
Zachary let out a harsh snort. âYou seriously didnât realize you were being used?â
Charlotte got what Zachary was saying. Seeing the confusion on Natalieâs face, she felt somewhat helpless. âZachary has a point. I know Bella really wellâEmma is like her own child. Thereâs no way she would ever bully her Natalie shook her head. âMom, that was before. Now that the real daughter of the Rosewood family is back, Emmaâs not the favorite anymore.â
Charlotte said, âOh, my dear, youâre looking at this way too simply. A daughter who has been treasured for eighteen years wonât just be tossed aside because another daughter returned. I guess what Elysia said is probably true.â
A Zachary finally cracked a hint of a smile. âIf you were half as clever as your mother, I wouldnât have been so furious.â He then turned to a nearby servant and instructed, âTake Natalie to get some treatment.â
âYes, Mr. Moore,â the servant replied.
Once Natalie was taken away by the servant, only Charlotte and Zachary were left in the living room.
Charlotte rested her head on Zacharyâs shoulder, a hint of worry showing on her beautiful face. âHoney, does the company have any plans for this?â
Zachary nodded. âWe will release a statement with the Smith family and let the Rosewood family take the lead in quelling the issue.
âThank you for all your hard work, honey, Charlotte whispered Zachary sighed heavily. âWeâve managed the issues at the company, but what about Natalie? Sheâs always been stubborn and thinks she knows everything. I worry that if this keeps up, sheâs going to end up hurt.â
Charlotteâs eyes narrowed. âYouâre right. We need to keep Emma away from Natalie. Sheâs just going to take advantage of Natalie again!
âBut Natalie wonât listen to us. Just thinking about her attitude makes me so mad.â Zacharyâs frustration flared up again. Charlotte touched Zacharyâs chest gentlely to calm him down. âDonât get upset, darling. After all, sheâs our daughter, Compared to Emma and Natalie, Mia had it much easier. As the only daughter in her family, the elders never really scolded her. They just said a few more to her, even when she messed up 14:02 Tue, Jan 28 Chapter 7 1.69%
Still, Mia was holed up in her room, crying. The rest of the family was getting anxious, trying to comfort her from outside, her door.
The next morning. Elysia woke up to a call from the entertainment reporter. âFinally got you. The Moore and Smith families have released their statements, and your family has privately accepted their apologies. The online chatter has shifted. If you want to keep this going, itâll cost you.â
âNo need. How much do you want?â Elysia asked.
â300 thousand dollars.
âSure. Just give me your account number, and Iâll send it over shortly.â
After hanging up, Elysia opened Twitter and saw the official statements from the Moore and Smith families. They claimed it was just a small argument between kids and apologized for any negative impact. They promised to be stricter in the future.
The Rosewood familyâs official account also stated that they accepted apologies from the two families and thanked the public for their concern, implicitly agreeing with the two familiesâ statements.
Apologies? I never received any, Elysia sneered silently. Still, she wasnât planning to push it any further because she was just exhausted by the whole ordeal.
Today was Elysiaâs first day at Milton School. As she headed downstairs, Emma, wearing her senior uniform, greeted her with a smug smile. âCome have breakfast, Elysia. We need to get to school soon,â
Elysia didnât reply and just took a seat.
Bella frowned, annoyed. âEmma is talking to you. Why are you being so rude?â
âMom, donât blame her. She dropped out before finishing elementary school. Now sheâs eighteen and only in seventh grade, -she might be a bit uneasy. But donât worry. Iâll take care of hert Emma said softly.
Elysia smirked internally. âTake care of me? Who asked you to do that? Thatâs just fake sympathy. Whatâs her real plan this time?
Bella smiled warmly at Emmaâs comment. âYouâre such a thoughtful girl.â
After breakfast, Emma and Elysia hopped into the family car and headed to Milton School.
The luxury car pulled up at the entrance of the school, not attracting much attention. Students there typically came from wealthy families, so fancy cars were pretty common.
But as Emma and Elysia got out of the car, they instantly drew everyoneâs eyes. Elysia, in particular, caught the attention of the young nobles, who stopped and stared in admiration.
âWhoâs that girl over there? She looks even prettier than the school beauty, Emma, a boy exclaimed.
