She nodded firmly. “Okay, I promise.”

As Elysia walked out of K.L. Capital, Dan hurried over at the sight of her and opened the car door for her. “Ms. Evans, where are we going?”

“To the West Suburb Cemetery.”

“Cemetery?” Dan was confused. Then he seemed to remember something and nodded. “Okay, Ms. Evans, please get in the car.

I’ll take you there.”

Elysia took the back seat of the car, and Dan started the car, as his eyes glanced at Elysia through the rearview mirror. She still looked gloomy.

Dan thought, ‘Ms. Evans surely went to the cemetery to see Evelyn. Anyway, Ms. Evans is pitiable too. She’s the daughter of a wealthy family, but she has been living away from her family for so many years.

‘She suffered a lot to come back, but her sister had passed away. The cemetery is the only place where she can express her grief.

‘If Ms. Evans had come back a few years earlier, she would have been able to see Evelyn. Maybe Evelyn would have recovered from her illness if she had seen Ms. Evans.‘

When they passed by a flower shop, Dan cautiously asked, “Ms. Evans, do you want to buy a bunch of flowers?”

Only then did Elysia react, her eyes looking out the window at the flower shop. “Okay,” she said.

As Dan was about to open the car door, Elysia stopped him. “I’ll go myself.”

Dan looked at Elysia, withdrawing his feet. He thought, ‘It would be better that she does it herself.

Getting out of the car, Elysia entered the flower shop. Looking at the wide variety of fresh flowers, she didn’t know what flowers her sister liked best when she was alive.

Her eyes swept across the flower shop and finally landed on the li Her memories of Evelyn were a figment of her imagination. Evelyn loved reading and she was a kind girl, so she must have been fresh and elegant, as pure as the morning dew. In that case, she would like lilies.

“Hello, a bunch of lilies, please.”

“Okay. Just a moment, please,” the florist said.

The florist worked swiftly as she talked to Elysia, “Miss, do you buy someone very important these lilies?”

Elysia’s expression didn’t change, and she nodded. “Indeed, a very important person.”

The florist smiled. “Our flowers are all air–freighted, so they are fresh. I’m sure the person you mentioned will like them.”

The flowers were ready, and the florist handed them to her.

Elysia didn’t answer her question, but said lightly, “Thank you.” and then left.

The florist looked at her retreating, thinking, ‘She must be born that way. She didn’t think much of it.

The florist instantly became indignant. “I’m just trying to be friendly to the customers and attract more business to our shop.”

“According to what you did, you’ll ruin our shop sooner or later.

“Hey, how could you say that?”

Their voices faded as Elysia stepped into the car. The car drove smoothly along the road, arriving at the West Suburban Cemetery about half an hour later.

Elysia got out of the car, lilies in hand. With each step she took, her heart sank.

Placing the lilies in front of Evelyn’s tombstone, Elysia looked at the girl in the photo and smiled faintly. “I always wonder, if you were alive, we would be happy now.”

Elysia gently caressed the girl’s face in the photo, tears rolling down her cheek. “Evelyn, I found the cufflink you put in the drawer. Don’t worry. If you really got hurt back then, I will avenge you, no matter what the cost was?

She said firmly. This was a promise to Evelyn and a reminder to herself.

“Sometimes I think, if I had tried to find my family, would you possibly be alive?”

Elysia wiped the tears from her eyes, her gaze softening as she looked at the girl in the photo. “I brought you a bunch of lilies this time. I don’t know if you like them or not, but I think they suit you. Because you were a beautiful girl like them.”

Elysia had calmed down by the time she left the cemetery. Though her eyes were dim, the redness in her eyes subsided. You didn’t know she cried earlier if you didn’t look closely.

Dan opened the car door for her, wanting to comfort her but unsure of what to say.

As the car drove along, the atmosphere inside the car was heavy. Dan had enough of it and said, “Ms. Evans, Evelyn is in heaven now. She would be sad to see you grieving for her every day.”

Elysia looked in the rearview mirror, knowing Dan was concerned about her. “I know. Don’t worry,” she said.

Hearing this, Dan felt relieved and nodded firmly. Dan thought, ‘As long as Ms. Evans could move on from the sorrow of losing Evelyn, I’d be willing to exchange ten years‘ life for her.‘

When she returned to the Evans residence and stepped into the living room, she didn’t see the familiar figures. She went straight upstairs and found a wooden box among the things she had brought with her.

This was the latest poison she developed in Sivro. She hadn’t tested its toxicity yet. But it didn’t matter. She brought it here because she wanted to test it.

She remembered the person locked in the basement, a good test subject. It seemed like she hadn’t seen him fo ng time.

A sly smile crept onto her lips as Elysia went downstairs. She walked along the path shaded by trees, crossed the pavilion, and along the path paved with bluestone slabs. The sound of a hammer striking stone reached her ears. Her brows raised slightly as she followed the sound, passing through the woods. What came into view was a quaint pavilion. It was under construction.

The busy workers saw her and froze, dropping what they were doing. They exchanged quick glances, all eyes landing on Elysia.

From her look and outfit, they figured she had to be Elysia Evans.

10:20 Sat, Chapter 382 Fabian had told them to keep things hushed up, in case Elysia caught wind of what they were doing The leader glanced over at the guy chiseling stone nearby. He’d told him to cut it out, but the gry hadn’s licensed. How She Evans is drawn to the noise. How’s he gonna explain this to Mr. Evans? the leader thought The worker striking stone had no idea what the leader meant by that look. He looked at Elysia and said, “Miss, this is not a place to dawdle. Please leave quickly and don’t disturb our work”

Everyone fell silent.
