Chapter 375
Pampered By Power: The True Heiress Returns
Chapter 375 As she heard the warmth in Oliveâs voice, Lindseyâs eyes filled with tears. Without thinking, she threw herself into Oliveâs arms.
Her voice broke as she whispered, âGrandma...â
Olive gently patted her back, shaking her head with a soft smile. âYouâve grown up, but you still act like a little kid.â
Lindsey looked up at her, blinking rapidly, a small simile tugging at her lips. âWith you, Iâll always be a little kid.â
Olive smiled and reached up to tap her lightly on the forehead. âYou were so small back then. I worried you wouldnât grow but now look at you. Not only did you grow tall, but you turned out so beautiful.â
As Olive spoke, her eyes became misty. She couldnât help but remember the little girl who had knelt in front of her, crying and begging to be sent abroad.
Lindsey had been about twelve or thirteen, but she looked more like a sevenâyearâold, so tiny and fragile. Olive had been afraid to hold her too tightly, worried she might break her.
Oliveâs heart ached for Lindsey. She had never been loved by her own mother, and after her mom passed away, Ashley took control of her life. From such a young age, she had faced so much pain.
Olive sighed deeply, Back then, sheâd been living with Edward. Lindsey, soft and quiet, never talked about her struggles.
Sometimes, she would even avoid Olive. It wasnât until Olive overheard a few rumors that she went to Jim to ask what was going on.
Javier had brushed her off with a few words, and Lindsey had said nothing. She insisted she was fine.
Then, when Lindsey was twelve, she had cried and knelt before Olive, begging her to send her abroad. That image of Lindsey, crying uncontrollably, had stayed with Olive all these years. Every time she thought about it, her heart broke.
Lindsey had been so young, and yet she had already endured so much.
At first, Olive had wanted to bring Lindsey to live with her and take care of her herself. But Lindsey refused.
Eventually, Olive couldnât change her mind and reluctantly agreed to send her abroad.
In the years since Lindsey left, Olive often woke up in the middle of the night, worrying about how she was doing on her own.
She couldnât help but feel that Lindsey had faced too much hardship for someone so young.
Lindsey gently wiped the tears from Oliveâs face. âGrandma, please donât cry.â
âI wonât, Lindsey,â Olive replied, wiping her eyes, her voice shaky with emotion.
Lindsey took a deep breath, her voice soft but determined. âGrandma, Iâm not leaving this time. I bought a villa in Jorlandia, and I want you to move in with me. Please?â
Olive blinked in confusion, trying to understand. âMove in with you? You want me to live with you? And youâll take care of me?â
Olive reached out, gently patting Lindseyâs head, a warm smile on her face. âIâm okay here, sweetie. Moving around is too much trouble. And I donât want to be a burden to you.â
âYouâre not a burden!â Lindsey teased, sticking her tongue out at Olive. But then her face grew serious. âGrandma, even if you donât move in with me, I still donât want you living here. You should go live with Edward instead, okay?â
Olive raised an eyebrow, clearly puzzled. âWhatâs going on today? Why canât I stay here?â
Lindsey hesitated, looking down for a moment, clearly struggling to find the right words. After a beat, she spoke quietly. âItâs 1/3 Chapter 375 not that... Jim and Ashley donât get along. If you stay here. I wonât feel safeâ
Lindsey wasnât being completely honest. She knew Jim wasnât trustworthy, and Ashley and her daugther had a thorses or being troublemakers. If Olive stayed here, Lindsey feared a confrontation could spark even momen But the bigger issue was that Jim was Oliveâs son, and Lindsey didnât want to hurt her feelings Oliveâs expression softened as she sighed, her eyes meeting Lindseyâs with understanding get. Linder the sand for voice full of compassion. After a long pause, she nodded. âAlright, Iâll do it?
Lindseyâs face brightened with relief and happiness. She reached out, wrapping her arms around One bugging her face her chest. âThank you, Grandma.â
Olive chuckled softly, shaking her head. âSilly girl, no need to thank me? She patted Lindseyâs back gently. T talk to your father and tell him Iâm moving to Edwardâs. But Iâm going with you. Iâm still worked about you and your falle Lindsey understood exactly what Olive was worried about. She had only just come back home and if she met on done. that would be one thing. But taking Olive with herâwould Edward even agree And Jim, be would make a Lindsey was ready to confront Jim, but that would mean cutting ties with her father for good And even if the managed as push through all of that, there would be rumors.
Olive had two sons, both wellâknown figures in Jorlandia. If Lindsey took Olive and moved out people would feimney mak They might think Edward and Jim werenât taking care of their own mother.
Lindsey looked up at Olive, meeting her gaze. âGrandma, Iâll take you to Edwardâs tomorrow She was just relieved Olive wouldnât be staying at Jimâs house anymore. That was all that mattered As Lindsey stepped out of Oliveâs room, she almost ran into Esther, who was walking toward her. Lindsey ignored her pretending she hadnât seen her.
But Esther wasnât about to let it slide. She stopped right in front of Lindsey, crossed her arms, and gave her a sing challenging look. âWell, well, if it isnât my dear sister. Whatâs up? Still showing off Off to grandmaâs to complain again?â
Lindsey didnât even glance at her. She just kept walking, brushing past Esther without missing a beat A couple of steps later, she felt a hand grab her wrist. Lindsey turned, her gaze cold, to find Esther glaring at her, her face flushed with anger. âLindsey, do you have any manners? Iâm talking to you!â
âManners?â Lindsey raised an eyebrow, not slowing down. âYouâre talking about manners, but you canât even call me sis properly?â
âSis? You think you deserve that?â Esther scoffed, but her grip on Lindseyâs wrist didnât loosen Lindsey glanced down at the hand holding her, her expression dripping with disdain. âIf you donât let go, I swear Iâll make you regret it.â
Estherâs eyes widened. âAre you serious?â
âYou can try me,â Lindsey said, her tone flat and calm.
There was no threat in her voice, but Esther felt a chill run down her spine. After a beat, she hesitated, then slowly let go of Lindseyâs wrist, though she clearly wasnât happy about it.
But Lindsey wasnât done. She turned to a maid standing nearby. âGet me a tissue.â
âYes, Ms. Lindsey Evans,â the maid replied, nodding quickly before walking off.

Lindsey shrugged casually. âIsnât it obvious? I just think youâre filthy.â
âYouâ Esther opened her mouth to yell, but Lindsey cut her off, a sly smile playing on her lips. âAm 1 wrong Lindaryâs voice dropped, her words sharp. âA mistressâs daughter turning out just like her mother The words hit hard, and Lindseyâs grin made Esther freeze for a moment, her expression torn between disbelief and rage Just then, the maid returned, handing Lindsey a tissue and saying politely, âHere you are, Ms. Lindsey Evans Lindsey took it, dramatically wiping her wrist as if something filthy had touched her. She shot a quick glance at Esther, who was still standing there, frozen in shock. Lindseyâs smile grew wider. She thought Esther looked like a pampered princess.
Lindsey turned to leave, but then she stopped as if an idea just hit her. She looked back at Esther. âEsther, hereâs some advice.
Watch your step. Youâd better keep a low profile. My temperâs not something you want to testâ
