Chapter 35
Pampered By Power: The True Heiress Returns
Chapter 35 Elysia sat there, taking the scolding. Her brow furrowed just a bit She thought, âWhen they tried to shove me into Class 6, Grade 7 they didnât say squat about losing face. Now Iâm just dipping out of Class 1, Grade 12, and theyâre all bent out of shape âBella said I was using tricks. Seriously? Would a mom say that to her own kid? They always hear Emmaâs side of the story, no matter whatâ
Over on the couch, Logan looked like heâd bitten into a lemon, especially when Bella started ragging on Elysia.
+23 He used to think Bella was the understanding type. She showed her preference for Emma, but he figured she could tell right from wrong. Now, he realized he was way off base.
Elysia hadnât even gotten a chance to explain herself since she walked in. They just started hollering at her, and not in a nice way.
Logan couldnât believe a mom would talk to her kid like that, wondering what Bella was thinking. Scott was a whole other story;
heâd always been like this.
Logan could see Elysia was getting the shaft. Heâd been at the Rosewood residence for a while and noticed Elysia wasnât exactly having the time of her life there.
âBella, even if Elysia messed up, you shouldnât chew her out like this. Sheâs still your own flesh and blood,â Logan said, his voice as steady as a rock.
Elysia glanced over at Logan on the couch. In this family, he might be the only one whoâd stick up for her without a second thought.
Bellaâs temper flared the second she heard that, and she retorted, âMy daughter isnât like that!â
âWhatâs she getting at?
anything like this. Halling me not her daughter? How stupid is that? Emma made a million mistakes, but she never said anything like this. Her favoritism is so obvious,â Elysia thought to herself.
She sauntered over and plopped down on the couch, giving Bella a teasing look and saying coldly, âSo, what kind of person is your daughter? The kind that frames people or plays the pity card?â Then she threw a pointed glance Emmaâs way.
Emmaâs face went beet red with anger as she thought Elysia was trying to embarrass her in a sneaky way.
âWhat nonsense!â Bella bellowed.
âIâm not spouting nonsense. These are cold, hard facts. I donât have the knack for making up stories on the fly like your daughter does,â Elysia retorted, her voice unwavering.
âElysia, why are you saying those things about me? I just heard it from my classmates, and you know, where thereâs smoke, thereâs fire. If it wasnât true, why would everyone be talking about it?â Emma said, her eyes getting all misty, looking all wronged.
Bella wrapped her up quickly, whispering comforting words. âEmma, Mom and Dad are on your side. Donât cry, honey.
Elysia snorted inwardly, thinking, âThey believe her? Figures. These are, my soâcalled parents. Emma pulls her usual tricks and Bellaâs right there, eating it up.
11:59 Wed, Jan 29 Chapter 35 +23 âMaybe Bella knows better deep down, but she picks Emmaâs side, and she believes her no matter what. What am I to Bella?
Some outsider? Or worse than an outsider?â
âBella, what do you mean by believing Emma?â Logan was seeing red now. He was just a guest at the Rosewood residence, but seeing them bully Elysia like this, he couldnât keep his mouth shut.
âLogan, this is the Rosewood familyâs business!â Scott piped up, his voice tinged with irritation.
He was clearly ticked that Logan was butting in and wanted to remind him that to the Rosewood family, Logan was just some outsider who had no business getting involved in their family drama.
Logan was about to say something again, but Elysia gave his arm a little tug and shook her head, signaling for him to lay off. She didnât want him to get sucked into the Rosewood family drama or help her clean up her messes.
âYou heard it from your classmates?â Elysia scoffed, giving Emma a teasing look. âYou seriously believe all that gossip? Have you been living by hearsay all these years, never bothering to check the facts, Emma?â
âI just said, thereâs no smoke without fire. If it wasnât true, it wouldnât be spreading around school,â Emma said, her voice firm.
Elysia looked at Emma like sheâd lost her marbles, her tone dripping with sarcasm. âYou gotta use your brain, not your ears, Emma. Youâre an adult now, right? How come you donât have any backbone of your own? Believing rumors over truth? Thatâs pretty pathetic.â
On the surface, Elysia was talking to Emma, but she was also taking a swipe at Scott and Bella. They were just as guilty of only listening to Emmaâs side of the story.
Scottâs expression soured. He was a sly old fox whoâd been in the business world for years, and he knew a good line from a bad one.
Though he was ticked off, he couldnât blow up right now. If he started yelling, heâd be admitting that he was just as spineless, relying on rumors to figure out the truth.
All he could do was swallow his anger and ask Elysia, âIf this isnât the truth, then what is?â
Elysia chuckled. She knew Scott would ask this because he cared about his image. âI wanted to go to Class 6, and it had nothing to do with the test.â
âHow can you prove that?â Scott said, frowning.
âYou can call Levi,â Elysia said, her voice steady.
Just hearing Leviâs name reminded Scott of the last time. If he called again, Levi would say something harsh. Scott was the chairman of Rosewood Group, and he didnât need Levi putting him down. He quickly dropped the idea.
Emma also remembered the last incident. If Scott called Levi, he wouldnât get any answers, and Levi might even side with Elysia.
She suspected there might be some shady deal between Levi and Elysia.
But then she had a brainwave and said, âDad, the monthly exam results are coming out tomorrow. Weâll know if Elysiaâs lying just by looking at her scores.â
Scott nodded, thinking this was a great idea.
Seeing Scott agree, Emma was over the moon, thinking, This time, Elysiaâs going to fall right into my trap. I donât believe a dropout like her can get any good grades.

Chapter 35 She looked at Elysia and asked, âElysia, what do you think of this plan?â

âWhatever makes you happy!â Elysia thought to herself, figuring as long as Emma didnât regret her decision tonight, sheâd play along with whatever game Emma wanted.
Seeing Elysia didnât object, Emma was ecstatic. Sheâd been waiting for this day for so long. She just couldnât wait for Elysia to be taken down, and the sooner, the better.
Once the issue was settled, Scott didnât feel like sticking around and went back to his study. Bella and Emma, each with their own schemes, couldnât sit still either and went straight to their rooms.
For a moment, the living room was left with just Logan and Elysia. The air suddenly grew quiet.
âElysia, Iâm heading back to Shecrity tomorrow,â Logan said, his voice a bit heavy.
âReally? That sudden?â Elysia asked, her voice showing a hint of surprise.
âNot really, Iâve been out for a while. Itâs time to.head back,â Logan said, letting out a sigh. âOnce Iâm gone, there wonât be anyone to look out for you.â
