Pampered By Power: The True Heiress Returns

Barry quickly opened the door, hopped in, and pressed the accelerator, driving off without a second thought.

Meanwhile, Phoebe was lazily sprawled out on a tree branch in the Arcanum House, using her hands as a pillow and looking relaxed. As she turned her head, she saw Yuna. A flash of joy crossed her face, and she leaped down. “Yuna!”

“What’s wrong, Phoebe?” Yuna asked, her voice distant. She was always like this–apart from Elysia, she never got close to anyone and wouldn’t take orders from anyone either.

“I need you to take me to Royal Bay,” Phoebe said.

Yuna gave her a scrutinizing glance. Seeing this, Phoebe quickly added, “It’s Elysia’s request. She wants me to wait for her there.”

“Ms. Rosewood faced some gossip at school, and Mr. Evans has taken her away. She probably won’t be going to Royal Bay. If you still want to go, I can take you there,” Yuna said.

Yuna looked indifferent, and Phoebe lost interest instantly. She lazily said, “If Elysia isn’t going, then why would I? Forget it, I’ll just take a nap.”

She climbed back onto the tree branch and closed her eyes, pretending to nap. Yuna, seeing this, stepped into the house.

Only after hearing the door close did Phoebe open her eyes, muttering, “Yuna is so boring. She always keeps a distance from everyone.”

She reached into her pocket, pulled out her phone, and found Elysia’s number. Holding the phone to her ear, she listened as it rang for less than ten seconds before Elysia answered. “Hey, Phoebe. What’s up?”

“I heard you were getting some flak at school. Who dared to mess with you? Do you want me to teach her a lesson?” Phoebe said.

“It’s already solved,” said Elysia.

Phoebe said, “That’s boring. By the way, Elysia, I heard that Mr. Evans came to pick you up. Are you with him?”

Elysia nodded. “Yeah, he’s right here beside me.”

“Well, I guess I’m stuck alone in the Arcanum House again,” Phoebe replied.

“I’ll can someone come pick you up,” said Elysia.

“Don’t!” Phoebe quickly interjected, “I’m not a three–year–old who needs a babysitter. You know what, I’ve been quite happy while you’re gone. Anyway, enjoy your time with your brother. I’m taking a nap.”

Before Elysia could respond, Phoebe ended the call, holding the phone to her chest with a smile. “Guess it’s another night on my own.”

A thought crossed her mind, and her gaze shifted to the door of the storage room. “It seems like she’s the c make this fun.” She flipped over, jumping down from the tree once again.

Then she walked over to the storage room and pushed the door open.

ne who can The room was bathed in sunlight, and Zoe, standing in silhouette against the backlight, looked up at Phoebe. Her lips were pale.

“What do you want?”

Phoebe crossed her arms over her chest, thinking, ‘Why do you sound like Yuna? Can’t you show a little emotion?‘ She said, “Of course, I have a reason. What do you think I’m doing here?”

“What is it?” Zoe asked, glancing down at the floor. She looked fragile as if she might collapse the moment the ropes were undone.

“Wait, you’re not dying, are you?” Phoebe asked, stepping forward. She quickly untied the ropes binding Zoe and steadied her with one hand. Once she was sure she could stand, Phoebe reluctantly let go.

“I’m not that weak,” Zoe muttered.

“Really? Stop pretending to be tough. If you weren’t weak, you wouldn’t have been tied up like that,” Phoebe said, then reached out to feel her pulse.

“Do you know about medical skills?” Zoe asked.

“A little bit,” Phoebe replied casually, letting go of her wrist. “You’re fine. You’re just a little dizzy from being tied up for so long.

You probably just need some fresh air.”

Phoebe turned around and walked toward the door. However, she paused after only a few steps. She turned back and looked at Zoe with a serious look. “It’s really bad luck that you crossed paths with Elysia. After all, you’re defenseless in front of her Zoe didn’t say anything.

Phoebe, not even bothering to notice Zoe’s expression, turned around and walked out, plopping down on the steps outside.

effort, she dragged herself outside and sat down next to Phoebe. “Won’t she be This time, Zoe didn’t hesitate. With grear mad that you let me out?”

“Elysia?” Phoebe asked.

Zoe nodded. “Yeah.”

Phoebe yawned and stretched out her arms. “Nah, she won’t. Elysia said last time that getting some fresh air was good for you.

Besides, you can’t escape anyway, right?” Her tone turned serious as she looked at Zoe.

Zoe lowered her head. Phoebe was right. She was drugged, and no matter how lucky she got, she had nowhere to go getting out of there. The only place she could be was the Arcanum House.

after Zoe smiled bitterly as she looked at the scars on her body. She thought back to the medicine Yuna had brought her earlier and the latter’s cold words, each sentence meant to defend Elysia.

Zoe thought, ‘Why are there always so many people willing to do everything for her and to risk everything without hesitation? It’s the same case both in Silverstream and the Arcanum House. What kind of person is Elysia exactly?‘

Thinking back on her own past, Zoe remembered how, if she didn’t complete the tasks Ryan gave her, she would end up with no food, sometimes even fighting with dogs for scraps, or worse–getting a beating.

The wounds she had back then were far worse than the ones she had now. The feeling of her skin being torn open still caused her pain when she recalled it.

There were times when she thought she couldn’t hold on any longer, but every time, Ryan would send her micine to keep her alive.

Ryan was the person she had spent the most time with over the years. Even if he was harsh with her, she would always bear it and convince herself that it was her fault and that she deserved the punishment.

Then she would take care of her wounds herself and live on.

Before she met Elysia, Zoe thought this was just how life worked. However, after meeting Elysia, she began to think that maybe this wasn’t how people were supposed to live.

Zoe said, “I overheard your call earlier. She faced some criticism, right? How’s it going? Is it settled?”

Oh, this thing Phoebe’s face lit up as if she just realized something, and she casually replied, “Don’t worry, there’s nothing #lysis can’t handle Then she suddenly seemed to catch on to something and stared at Zoe in shock. “Wait, were you concrmed about her?”

Zoe didn’t respond, she just kept her head down. Phoebe, though, seemed to get the point.

Didn’t you always want to kill Elysia? What’s going on? Have you been tied up for too long and lost your mind?” Phoebe asked in a playful tone.

Zoe pursed her lips and remained silent. She had only been carrying out Ryan’s orders. As for why she was supposed to kill Elysia, she had no idea.

Seeing Zoe still quiet, Phoebe lost interest and lazily looked at the wall ahead of them. “Well, how about we spar? I’m so bored!

She just felt that she was as boring as Yuna.
