Pampered By Power: The True Heiress Returns
Chapter 3 69%
Elysia was completely disappointed in Bellaâshe valued an adopted daughter more than her own flesh and blood. Elysia couldnât believe there would be such a mother in the world.
âAre you saying you donât want me anymore? My health isnât great, so I need to stay in the sunny room. But just because Emma wonât give it up, youâre making me move out on my own, right?â Elysia asked.
Emma was worried about looking bad in front of their parents. She quickly explained, âNo, itâs not that I donât want you to have the room. Itâs just that...â She was about to say Bella wouldnât allow it, but caught herself before saying it.
Elysia laughed. âSo, youâre okay with giving me your room?â
âI... Emma hesitated.
âNo?â Elysia pouted and turned to Scott. âDad, youâre wrong. Sisters donât always support each other.â
Scott frowned. âEmma, choose another room. Let Elysia have this one.â
âThank you Dad,â Elysia said sweetly, putting on her obedient act.
Scott didnât say anything else and left the room.
Emma finally broke down in tears. Bella felt heartbroken. She gently comforted her, saying, âDonât ery, sweetheart. There are still plenty of rooms in the house. Iâll find you the biggest one and make it just right for you.â
Emma nodded, her eyes red. âThanks, Mom.â
âWhat a loving mother and devoted daughter, Elysia sneered silently.
Mary never imagined that Emmaâs room would end up going to Elysia. She stood there in shock, watching as Emmaâs things were moved our box by box.
Given how much Bella cared for Emma, Mary couldnât believe she would actually give Emmaâs room to ElysiaâEven Scott agreed too. Mary realized that Elysia was not someone to mess with.
After everything was settled that evening, Elysia took out her phone and videoâcalled Jack.
The call connected quickly, and Jack greeted her with a big smile âHey, Elysia! How are you doing? Is the Rosewood family treating you well?â
Elysia hesitated. Jack always wanted her to be with her parents like other kids, enjoying their warmth and support. She didnât want him to worry about her. âThey treat me really well,â she finally said, turning the camera around. âLook at my room. Itâs not too shabby, right?â
âWell, it looks okay. Itâs a bit plain, though. Iâm sorry youâre going through this. We just hope that when weâre not someone will take care of you,â Jack sighed.
around.
Tears filled Elysiaâs eyesâthis was what family really meant. Eighteen years spent together meant more to her than what âbiological parentsâ could offer in this big, cold house.
She missed Silverstream, Jack, Leo, and... But it wasnât time to ge back yet. She had a more important mission to handle with the Rosewood family.

Once the video call ended. Elysia tossed and turned, unable to sleep. After some thought, she realized that the pink tones in werenât her styleâsheâd change it up tomorrow.
The next morning, the three Rosewoods were at the dining table, but Elysia was still missing.
âWhy isnât Elysia up yet? Has she been in that awful place so long that sheâs started sleeping in?â Emma asked.
Bella snorted. âAnd thatâs not the only bad habit sheâs picked up.
Emma quickly reassured her, âMom, please donât be upset. Elysih just got back. It might take her a little while to adjust. I promise Iâll help her out more.â
âYouâre so understanding, Emma, Bella said. She looked at Emma with warm eyes, thinking that sweet Emma deserved to be her daughter.
âGood morning, everyone, Elysia chimed in, dressed in sporty clothes with her hair pulled up in a high ponytail. The morning sun lit her up, making her look stunning.
Gone was the floral dress from yesterday. Now, her athletic wear highlighted her curves perfectly. She definitely didnât look like a typical girl from the countryside. Instead, she resembled a young lady raised in a prominent family.
Emma was seething with jealousy âHow could she be so lucky? Sheâs not only the biological daughter of the Rosewood family, but it seems like fate has smiled on her with good looks and a great figure.
âShe was raised in the country, and yet she doesnât seem like a country bumpkin at all. Her poise is even more refined than mine, while Iâve grown up in the Rosewood family âSorry, I have this habit of going for morning runs. I hope Iâm not late?â Elysia said with a smile.
âNo, thatâs a great habit. Come on and have breakfast, Scott replied, momentarily taken aback by Elysiaâs beauty. Honestly, sheâs even prettier than Emma. If we nurture her right, she could be a real asset to the Rosewood family, he thought.
âSo, you went for a jog. I thought youâd gotten used to sleeping in after being out in the country for so long. But the Rosewood family isnât just any family. You should dress well and avoid anything that looks cheap, Emma said.
Elysia looked down at her unbranded sportswear and just smiled, not bothering to respond.
Scott pulled out a card from his bag and handed it to Elysia. âUse this card for anything you want. No need to save money.
Emmaâs jealousy bubbled even more. âDad used to micromanage my allowance every month. Now, with Elysia around, heâs giving her a secondary card and telling her not to worry about costs. He never treated me like this!
Thanks, Dad, Elysia smiled as she accepted the card.
âEmma is right. Our family is significant. You should head to the inall and get some dignified clothes you like.â
âOkay, Dadâ
âBy the way, is there any school youâre interested in? I can help range it Elysia frowned. âNo, not reallyâ
Emma caught the change in Elysiaâs expression and saw her chance. âI heard you dropped out before you finished elementary school. If you go back, doesnât that mean you have to start from seventh grade?â

Dropped out of elementary school? Who told her that? Oh, right. Iâve altered iny records after graduating from Harfard University.
Looks like the Rosewood family has done some digging, but none of it is true, Elysia thought.
She had zipped through a private school, knocking out elementary to high school in just four years. She got into Harfard University at ten and wrapped up with a dual Masterâs degree by fificen.
This made the Clusian newspapers, but since she shied away from the limelight, her picture never showed up in the papers.
Thinking about it made her chuckleâJack and the other had even worried that she was too smart and might go bald in middle age.
âWhy not think about the school Emma went to? Itâs a combo middle and high school, Bella suggested.
âBut getting into my school ainât a walk in the park. Back in the day, I had to nail the grade ten piano exam and I was runner- up in a national speech contest. You got any special skills, Elysia? Emma asked.
âNope.â Elysia replied flatly.
Emmaâs smirk grew wider. Just as I expected, this country bumpkin has beauty, but no brains or skills to back it up.
âBut Iâll pick the same school as Emma.â Elysia had initially wanted to stay out of it, but seeing Emmaâs smug grin got under her skin. Suddenly, she was all set to push back.
