Chapter 220

Pampered By Power: The True Heiress Returns

Chapter 220 Hearing Vincent’s words, Elysia was momentarily taken aback. It hadn’t crossed her mind before. It was indeed time for her grandfathers to meet Vincent. She had taken Vincent as her mentor but had never mentioned it to them. In hindsight, it was her oversight.

“Vincent, I’ll take you there right away,” she said.

Vincent nodded and stood up, looking pleased. After changing into appropriate clothes, he headed out with Elysia.

Yuna was waiting outside the whole time. Seeing the two coming out, she quickly opened the car door.

Vincent glanced at her, feeling a flicker of recognition, but he couldn’t quite place her. Shrugging it off, he allowed Elysia to help him into the back seat.

“Take us to the Scented Garden,” Elysia then instructed Yuna.

“Yes, B–Noticing Elysia’s expression, the words “Boss” got caught in Yuna’s throat. She looked at Vincent, knowing what Elysia meant.

Elysia had no intention of revealing her true identity as the Owner of Arcanum House to Vincent. The title of Arcanum Master conjured images of an elderly, wise figure–someone with a long white beard, perhaps.

She knew Vincent would be shocked to learn that the Arcanum Master was actually a young girl. Besides, the idea of the Arcanum Master being Vincent’s apprentice sounded almost comical.

It was better to let him keep his original impression of her as an ordinary young woman. The revelation of her true identity would be far too jarring, and it might not even matter to him in the end.

The car pulled up to the entrance of the Scented Garden. Nicole had been waiting there for ages, having gotten the heads- up earlier. She quickly opened the door for Vincent. “Mr. Hartley, this way, please.”

Vincent nodded with a warm smile. “And you are?”

“I’m a friend of Elysia’s. She told me you were coming, so I thought I’d wait for you here. The others are already waiting for you in the private room. Let me show you the way,” Nicole said, leading the way.

Elysia had texted Nicole as soon as she heard Vincent wanted to meet her grandfathers. The Scented Garden was the perfect spot since they were there on a routine inspection.

They hadn’t been idle during their stay in Sivro, visiting nearly every business they had a stake in. Today just happened to be the Scented Garden’s turn.

Up in the most luxurious private room on the top floor, They were already gathered. Leo was fussing over his clothes, tugging at his sleeves and smoothing his jacket. He couldn’t seem to find an angle he liked. “Guys, what do you think? Do I look okay?”

Jack glanced at him sideways, clearly exasperated. “What are you so nervous about?”

Max snorted, “Come on, Leo. With our looks and style, do you really think we need to impress anyone? Elysia’s mentor is just another guy.”

“Yeah, when did Elysia even get a mentor?” Max then grumbled. “And a traditional painting master, no less. She’s been painting since she was seven. Does she really need someone to teach her?”

Leo said, also dissatisfied, “I’m with Max this time. Another old man by Elysia’s side? Don’t you want her to have just the three of us?”

Just then, Nicole opened the door and ushered Vincent in. “Mr. Hartley, please come in.”

Jack stood up quickly to greet him. Vincent looked to be in his sixties, a bit younger than the rest of them.

Elysia stepped forward, beaming, “Jack, this is my mentor, Vincent Hartley She then pointed to Jack. “And this is Jack. Her eyes flicked to Leo and Max, who were still sulking at the table. “And those two are Leo and Max”

Leo and Max turned their heads away, pointedly ignoring the introductions.

Jack gave them a stern look before turning back to Vincent. “Sorry about them. They can be a bit... eccentric.”

Vincent waved it off with a smile. “No worries at all.”

Leo and Max exchanged glances, clearly unhappy with the situation. They stood up, about to say something, but Jack’s glare made them sit back down.

“Do either of you have anything to say?” Jack asked, his tone carrying a clear warning.

They shook their heads quickly, and Leo quickly tried to smooth things over. “Uh, Mr. Hartley, have a seat. Make yourself comfortable.”

As everyone settled, a waiter rolled in a cart filled with the Scented Garden’s signature dishes.

Jack turned to Vincent. “We didn’t have much time to prepare, but we hope you enjoy these dishes. They’re some of the best here.”

Vincent looked at the spread and smiled. “Mr. Lewis, you’re too kind. I’ve been wanting to meet you all for a while now. Today’s finally the day.”

Jack laughed, “Let’s skip the formalities. Call me Jack. And you can call them by their names, too.”

Vincent chuckled. “Alright, then just call me Vincent.”

The tension in the room eased a bit as everyone started chatting. Leo and Max seemed to relax, realizing Vincent wasn’t as bad as they’d imagined. In fact, he seemed younger than they were.

Leo couldn’t help but ask, “Vincent, you’re not even sixty yet, are you?”

Vincent laughed. “I’m actually seventy–seven. Turning seventy–eight next year.”

The room fell silent for a moment as everyone processed that. Leo was stunned. ‘How does he look so young? It’s almost unfair.

He looks so good. What if Elysia likes him more than she likes us?‘
