Chapter 217
Pampered By Power: The True Heiress Returns
Chapter 217 Logan stood by, unsure of what to do. Bella had only told him to protect Emmaâs honor. She hadnât prepared him for this âAs long as Emma isnât raped, a little lesson wouldnât hurt her he thought.
Just as he was pondering this. Thorne suddenly shoved Robert aside and lunged for Emma.
But as soon as his hand touched her, Robert charged back. In a flash of anger, Thorne grabbed a knife from somewhere and stabbed Robert, Blood trickled down the handle, turning the white shirt red. Robert clutched his stomach, collapsing to the ground.
Thorneâs face turned pale with shock, and so did everyone elseâs. No one could believe heâd actually hurt Robert Melissa rushed over, her face pale with fear. She wrapped an arm around Thorne and took the knife from his trembling hand.
âThorne, are you okay?â she asked, her voice shaking.
âI killed him. 1-1 did this,â Thorne muttered, his face drained of color.
âDonât worry; as long as heâs still breathing, weâll be fine, Melissa said, glancing at Robert on the floor. Cold sweat was beading on his forehead, and the blood pooling around him was growing larger by the second.
Everyone stood frozen, rooted to the spot. Emma had retreated to the corner, her eyes wide with terror, and her body trembling uncontrollably.
Dennis, who had also been taken aback by Thorneâs impulsiveness, quickly snapped out of it. âWhat are you all standing around for? Call an ambulance!â he barked.
Melissa fumbled with her phone, finally dialing 911. After giving the address, she tried to press her hand against Robertâs wound to stop the bleeding, but she was so panicked she didnât know where to place it.
âYou... just hang in there. The ambulance is on its way,â she stammered, her voice barely steady. Despite her age, she had never faced anything like this before, and fear was only natural.
Elysia, on the other hand, watched the chaos unfold with a cold, unyielding expression. What a bunch of heartless hypocrites,â
she thought to herself.
She walked over to Robert, crouched down beside him, and sneered, âNow do you know what happens when you meddle in things that donât concern you?â
Her words hung in the air, and no one dared to speak. They just stared at her, waiting to see what she would do next.
Yuna, who knew exactly what Elysia was thinking, stepped in. âEveryone, letâs step outside and give them some space,â she said firmly.
Melissa opened her mouth to protest, but Dennis gave her a warning look. She quickly shut her mouth and helped Thorne out of the room.
Once everyone had left, Emma was still huddled in the corner, too terrified to move. Yuna walked over, grabbed her arm, and pulled her to her feet, dragging her out of the room.
The room was empty, and Elysia toyed with her fingers, a playful smirk on her face.
Robert stared at her, a tear slipping down his cheek. âAm I... going to die?â
She met his gaze, her eyes cold as steel. âWhat do you think?â
Robert looked at her, surprisingly feeling no discomfort. Instead, a warm smile spread across his face. âIâm dying, and youâre still so cold. Elysia, if you hadnât been taken away and had grown up as a Rosewood, would things have turned out differently for us?â

She lifted his head with a flick of her wrist, her expression indifferent. âYouâre overthinking. Save those questions for later.â
âStop kidding.â Robert whispered. âI donât have any time left...â
+5 âDo you really think youâre going to die that easily?â She pulled a pill from her pocket and popped it into his mouth. âDeath isnât ready for you yet. Youâre living because I want you to. A little pain is goodâbe smarter next time.â
Robert didnât fully understand, but her words brought him a strange sense of comfort.
The ambulance whisked Robert into the operating room, and Rachel and Nora finally arrived, their faces etched with anxiety.
They stood outside the OR, hearts pounding.
The last time theyâd been here was for Matthew. And they were back so soon, this time with Robert inside. The Davis family did face so many crises in such a short time and they couldnât help but wonder why.
Rachel was sobbing uncontrollably, and Nora held her up, barely holding back her own tears. She glanced at Dennisâs family standing off to the side and Emma, who was huddled in the corner. Noraâs brow furrowed in anger.
âCan someone explain what happened?â Noraâs voice was icy as she looked at them, demanding answers.
Melissa was already panicking and explained, âIâm so sorry... Um...â Her eyes landed on Emma as she shouted, âItâs because of her! If Robert hadnât stepped in front of her, Thorne wouldnât have stabbed him.â
Hearing Emmaâs name, Nora snapped. She lunged forward, grabbing Emma by the collar and yanking her up. âListen up! If anything happens to my brother, Iâll make you pay.â
But Emma just looked dazed, devoid of any reaction. She couldnât even cry anymore.
Nora glared at her, fury boiling inside. Sheâd known from the start that Emma was trouble. She wanted to slap her, but she held back. Robert was still inside, fighting for his life. Any reckoning would have to wait until the surgery was over.
They waited outside the operating room for what felt like an eternity. Finally, the light above the door went out, and they all rushed forward. âDoctor, howâs my brother?â
Dr. Tommy nodded reassuringly. âThe surgery went well. He just needs to focus on recovery now.â
At his words, everyone breathed a sigh of relief, the tension in their hearts finally easing. It was going to be okay.
Emmaâs tense body relaxed, and she let out a long, shuddering breath. All her pentâup emotions spilled out, and she began to cry. Nora noticed, but she was too preoccupied with thoughts of Robert to pay much attention.
The waiting room was empty except for Emma, who sat alone outside the operating room, her head buried in her arms. She felt like the weight of the world was crushing her.
âYou really are pathetic, arenât you?â A cold voice cut through the silence.
Emma looked up and there stood Elysia, leaning casually against the wall with a smirk on her face. âWhat do Emma snapped, wiping away the tears that still streamed down her cheeks.
âJust here to enjoy this dramaâ Elysia replied, her tone dripping with sarcasm.
âIâm down and out now. You happy?â Emma said.
Elysia sneered, âYou think youâre so important? Newsflashâyouâre not.â
you want?â
Emma felt humiliated. She narrowed her eyes and thought, âNot that important? So she really thinks so little of me?â
2/3 14:15 Wed, 5 Mar Chapter 217 Elysiaâs smile widened, revealing a glint of cruelty. âOh, this is just getting started. Want to hear something really interesting?â
Emmaâs breath caught in her throat. âWhat are you trying to say?â
âYour real father,â Elysia said. âYouâve always wondered about him, havenât you?â
+5 Emmaâs mind raced. Her real father? Could Elysia possibly know something she didnât? Her eyes widened with a mix of fear and curiosity. âHow could you know anything about that?â
Elysia let out a cold laugh and crouched down in front of Emma, her face inches away. âYou really think everyone is as clueless as you?â
