Pampered By Power: The True Heiress Returns
Chapter 213 62%
Emmaâd never experienced the hardships of the working class, but sheâd witnessed enough to know she didnât want that life.
Sheâd seen people working tirelessly, living paycheck to paycheck, and constantly at the mercy of others. It was a life she wanted to avoid at all costs.
When Scott had come to take them in, she hadnât hesitated. Sheâd chosen him, knowing he was her path to success. As for Bella, she had never shown much drive or ambition. Emma would never allow herself to depend on her uncle just like Bella.
But as Scott noticed her greed and joy, a flicker of disdain crossed his faceâgone in an instant. âFoolish girl, he thought. âThatâs just some placebo. You really believe Iâd hand over my lifeâs work to you?
I work so hard to build this empire; Iâll never let it fall into the hands of an outsider. Iâm still young and I can handle this. And later, I can get a son, perhaps someone with my name, my ambition. But you? Never.
But for now, all of that is on hold. Iâve got more pressing matters to deal with. If I canât resolve the current situation smoothly,â
Scott thought with a cold, inward sneer, âall my hard work and achievements might end up being for nothing!
âMake yourself presentable,â he said and tossed over his shoulder, disappearing into the house.
Emma stared after him, her resolve hardening with a nod. This was her chance. Sheâd dazzle the client, prove her worth, and secure her place at the top. âI wonât let you down, Dad,â she vowed.
Lost in the promise of a brighter future, Emma was completely wrapped up in the grand life she imagined ahead. She was too blinded to see through Scottâs words. For now, she had no other choice anyway.
At 7 PM, Emma swept into the hotel, her arm looped through Scottâs, the fabric of her elegant gown rustling softly. But the moment they crossed the threshold, she frowned and thought, âThis should be a business meeting, no? Why here in a hotelâ?
She shot Scott a puzzled look, raising an eyebrow. âDad, weâre supposed to meet a client, right? So why are we at a hotel?â
âOur clientâs here,â Scott said, his voice clipped. âJust keep your cool and donât blow this.â
A shiver ran down Emmaâs spine as suspicion gnawed at her. She trailed Scott to the penthouse suite, her mind racing. âIs he planning to hand me over?â
The thought left her breathless. She stole a glance at Scott, her eyes flickering with dread. âHow could I be so gullible? I believed heâd let me take the reins of his business. Now it feels like a setup, a trap Iâve walked into blind.
She stared at Scott, her heart hammering. The man sheâd called âdadâ for eighteen yearsâcould he really do this? She didnât stop him from ringing the bell. She needed to see if her worst fears were true.
The bell chimed, and Emma squeezed her eyes shut, her pulse racing. She heard the door creak open and forced herself to look, praying this was all a mistake.
However, there stood a middleâaged man, his bald head gleaming, and his gut straining against his shirt. The moment he spoke, a wave of stale smoke and booze hit her, making her stomach lurch.
The last time sheâd felt this cornered was in a hotel, when Elysia had lured her into a trap. And now, it seemed Scott was playing the same game.
The man was Dennis. His eyes lit up as he sized Emma up.
âMr. Ludwig, this is my daughter, Emma,â Scott said, his tone smooth.
Dennis waved him off. âScott, now that youâve brought her, why donât you beat it? Iâve got things to do.â

Dennis reached for Emmaâs arm, but she yanked it back, her heart pounding. Dennisâs face darkened, and he shot Scott a glare.
âScott, whatâs the problem here?â
âMr. Ludwig, sheâs just shy, Scott said, grabbing Emmaâs wrist. But instead of shoving her toward Dennis, he hesitated. âMr.
Ludwig, about that money you promised...
âYouâll get it when the dealâs done. You trust me, right?â Dennis said, his impatience clear.
âOf course, Mr. Ludwig. I trust you completely, Scott said, finally pushing Emma toward Dennis. âEmma, please Mr. Ludwigâ
Emmaâs chest tightened as Dennisâs meaty hand clamped down on her arm, his grip bruising. Panic surged through her. She watched Scott turn to leave, tears blurring her vision. âDad, Iâll do anything! Please donât leave me here, she cried, her voice cracking.
But Scott didnât even glance back. He walked away, his footsteps fading. Emmaâs last sliver of hope dissolved, leaving her alone with Dennis, trapped in a nightmare she couldnât wake from.
Dennis held Emma tightly, and her movements only seemed to fuel his desire. With a strong grip, he picked her up and kicked the door shut behind them. In the bedroom, he threw the squirming beauty onto the bed, ready to make his move.
Tears slid down Emmaâs checks, and she realized that doing nothing would be her downfall. She wiped away her tears, looked into Dennisâs eyes, and tried her best to hide her fear. âMr. Ludwig, no need to rush... Iâm all yours tonight.â
Emmaâs change in tone and attitude, especially her soft and gentle voice, made Dennisâs heart leap with joy, and he immediately smiled.
Seeing his expression soften, Emma gave a sweet smile. âMr. Ludwig, I just got back from Shecrity and havenât had a shower yet. They dressed me in these clothes and brought me here. I hope I donât smell bad and offend you.â
Dennis, intrigued, let his hand slide over her lovely and enchanting face. âSo youâre suggesting a shower, honey? Would you like me to join you?â
âNo need, Mr. Ludwig. Iâll be out soon after I freshen up. Iâll be lying here obediently, ready for you. Are you worried I might run away?â she smiled.
âIâve always been a sucker for beautiful women,â Dennis said with a grin. âGo ahead and take your bath, darling. Weâve got plenty of time later.â As he spoke, Dennis couldnât resist giving Emma a firm squeeze on her bottom.
Emma fought back her nausea and hurried to the bathroom. She turned on the shower and fumbled for her phone. While debating who to call, she saw Robertâs name in her contacts.
Without thinking twice, she dialed him. The phone kept ringing with no answer, and her anxiety grew. She prayed that Robert would pick up, but it seemed like fate was against her, as the call went unanswered.
She had no choice but to keep trying, as she couldnât think of anyone else besides Robert to call. Natalie? Mia? They wouldnât be of any help in a situation like this.
It will did the fresh me that âWI 11 Gell.
