Chapter 208
Pampered By Power: The True Heiress Returns
Chapter 208 Elysia looked at Logan with amusement and teased, âWere you really that scared?â
Logan said, âOf course I was! I was so worried Iâd say something wrong by accident. I canât even imagine getting my head bashed in!â
Hearing this, Elysia patted his shoulder to comfort him. âDonât worry. They are really nice. They wonât just smash your head for something small.â
âElysia, you really have to protect me.â
âYouâre my cousin. I wouldnât let you get hurt. Relax, they arenât as scary as you think,â she said.
Then, as if she remembered something, she asked, âBy the way, why did you suddenly come to Sivro?â
Logan answered, not sounding too happy, âIâm worried about you. I had to see with my own eyes that youâre okay to really feel at ease. Plus, my mom is really worried about you too. Iâm here because she told me to come.â
The smile on Elysiaâs face slowly faded, and her gaze softened a bit. âHowâs your mother?â
âAs long as youâre okay, sheâs okay. Sometimes I think youâre more like her real daughter than I am, with how differently she treats us.â
âAre you jealous?â
âNo.â
âSo what you said earlier wasnât because you were jealous?â
âI told you, thereâs nothing to it.â Logan turned his head away, while Elysia looked at him, amused. It was obvious he was jealous, but he just wouldnât admit it.
Scott had just gotten a notice that the government was taking the land in the northern part of the city.
Before he could even think things through, he got a call from the finance department saying the IRS was coming to the company for an audit.
Scott tried to stay calm. After giving a few quick orders to the finance team, he rushed to the company, only to find the IRS agents had already left.
Feeling uneasy, Scott thought it was too convenientâfrom the government taking the land to the IRS audit. It didnât seem like a coincidence; it felt like it was all planned from the start.
Frowning deeply, he carefully thought about recent events and finally realized where the problem was. Fabian had been bidding against him for the same piece of land.
At first, he thought Fabian saw the landâs potential and wanted to cut off his moneyâmaking ways.
But now it seemed Fabian had known all along that the government was going to seize that land.
Fabian deliberately raised the bidding price, forcing him to buy it at a high price, and then reported him to the tax authorities.
Now, all the companyâs money was tied up in this land, and paying the taxes wasnât going to be easy.
14:51 Wed, 19 Feb Chapter 208 <36538 Scott frowned as he realized how cleverly Fabian had set this trap, leaving him with no way out. Whether to move forward or back down, Scott didnât have any control anymore.
But Scott couldnât just do nothing. The most important thing now was to get money to pay the taxes. With that in mind, he quickly took out his phone and started calling some friends he usually got along with.
But after making several calls, he found they were either on another call or just didnât pick up. When someone finally did answer, they flatâout refused him, not giving him any room to bargain.
Scottâs hope slowly disappeared. Having been in the business world for years, if he couldnât tell he was in a trap now, heâd really be stupid.
Since Fabian had planned all this, he must have blocked all of Scottâs ways out. No one would dare to help Scott now.
A flash of anger crossed Scottâs eyes. After thinking for a long time, he finally called Fabian. Even if there was only a tiny bit of hope, he had to give it his all.
Now, besides hoping Fabian would be kind, there was no one else he could ask for help.
But the phone just kept ringing with no answer. Just when he was about to give up, a âbeepâ sound gave him a little hope again.
In a begging voice, he said, âMr. Evans, I know I was wrong. Please, be nice and let me go. Iâm begging you.â
Fabian just said lightly, âBegging me wonât work. You should have thought of this outcome when you did those things.â
Hearing this, the last bit of hope in Scottâs eyes disappeared. He laughed crazily, âMr. Evans, you really lives up to your name.
Not only are your methods ruthless, but your plan is the best, right?
âYou set me up to buy that land in the northern district at a high price, and then reported me to the tax office. Fine, thatâs one thing.
âBut you also made sure my friends wouldnât help me, pushing me into a corner. Your scheming is really something!
âArenât you afraid that one day youâll be in a situation you canât get out of?â
Hearing Scottâs crazy voice, Fabian slightly furrowed his eyebrows.
It only took a moment before he relaxed, and a smirk appeared on his lips as he taunted, âI wonder if you will live long enough to see that.â
Scott was so angry at those words that he clenched his teeth. Fabian was cursing him.
âScott, I appreciate your strange compliment, but Iâm not the one who reported you to the IRS, and as for the one behind all this, it has nothing to do with me.â
Scottâs heart suddenly skipped a beat. His mind raced, âWhat did he mean by that? If it wasnât he, then who could it be? Could it be Elysia or Zane?â
He closed his eyes and shook his head a little, thinking, âIt couldnât be Elysia. She is just a young girl.
âEven if she had shown up at the Rosewood residence that night with a group of people and made a big scene, she must have been relying on the Evans familyâs power. How could someone so young have such skills?â
Then it had to be Zane. He was close to Elysia, so it made sense that he would help her.
With no sound from the other end of the phone, Fabian hung up directly. Scott just sat there, stunned, not reacting at all.
The two big shots in the business world teamed up to take him down. Scott laughed coldly to himself. It was over for him.

Even if it was just one of them going after him, he might not be able to get away unhurt, let alone both. He didnât know what he did to make two such powerful people work together against him.
Scott ran his fingers through his neatly combed hair, making it a mess. His eyes turned red, and the veins on his temples stuck out, making him look kind of scary.
Suddenly, a name came to his mind. In times like these, there was probably only one person brave enough to help him.
Thinking about it, he immediately picked up his phone and dialed the number. After two rings, the call was answered, and a bit of relief showed on his face.
Scott begged, âMr. Ludwig, this is Scott. Iâm in a bit of trouble and need your help.â
Dennis Ludwigâs lazy voice came through the receiver. âScott, Iâve heard about your situation. Itâs clear someoneâs plotting against you! Thereâs nothing I can do.â
âNo, please, Mr. Ludwig. If even you canât help, then really, no one can.â
