Chapter 168

Pampered By Power: The True Heiress Returns

Chapter 168 Ethan took a few steps forward, leaning half against the railing, and looked at Elysia. “How’s the Honor Guards situation going?”

Elysia said, “It should be settled now.”

“Great, keep up the good work!” With that, Ethan turned and walked away.

The students from Class 6, who had been eavesdropping, rushed out as soon as Ethan was gone. “Elysia, tell us how you managed to get them to back down!”

“I get so mad just thinking about it. Who spread those rumors about our Elysia? She’s jealous!”

“I know, right? If I find out who spread those rumors, I’ll make sure they regret it!”

“Exactly. If it weren’t for Elysia’s smart trick, who knows what would have happened!”

Ava finally managed to squeeze through the crowd. She almost stumbled to the floor but was saved by Elysia, who quickly reached out to steady her, preventing her from falling.

“Are you okay, Ava?” Elysia asked with concern, still holding her.

“I’m fine,” Ava said and wrapped her arms around Elysia, her voice full of joy. “I knew you could do it!” However, soon, a tinge of guilt crept in. “I’m sorry... I couldn’t be there with you at such an important moment...”

When Elysia rushed out of the classroom earlier, Ava had planned to follow, but she was stopped by Ethan just before reaching the door, who insisted on supervising them.

Looking back, Ava realized Ethan had done it on purpose for he didn’t want them to go to watch Elysia defeat those troublemakers. They knew Elysia was amazing, and when the notice came out, they were certain she would win. The result proved them right.

Ava’s little pout was so exaggerated. Elysia couldn’t help but chuckle as she looked at her, reaching out to gently rub her hair before saying, “It’s fine.”

Hearing that, Ava’s face lit up with a smile.

They crowded around Elysia as she entered the classroom, eager to hear the details of what had happened. Once they heard the story, they all gave her a thumbs–up. “Elysia, you’re amazing! Not only did you humiliate Thorne, but you also broke his hand!”

After school, Elysia went straight to Iskoria Villa. As soon as the door opened, Faelan saw her and greeted her with a joyful expression. “Come in, Elysia!” he said, ushering her inside.

Vincent, who had been pacing anxiously, immediately sat down on the couch as soon as he heard the noise. He picked up the newspaper on the table and pretended to be unfazed.

“Mr. Hartley,” Elysia greeted him gently.

Hearing her voice, Vincent didn’t respond. He continued holding the newspaper, taking a sip from the teacup.

Faelan, puzzled by Vincent’s behavior, scratched the back of his head.

He thought, ‘What’s going on with Mr. Hartley? He has been talking about Elysia just a moment ago, but now that she’s here, 1/3 Dreame–Read Romance...

Unable to hold back any longer, Faelan couldn’t help but remind him, “Mr. Hartley, your newspaper is upside down.”

Elysia noticed it too but didn’t say anything. She could imagine how flustered Vincent must have been when he hastily grabbed the newspaper. To be honest, it was quite cute.

Vincent glared at Faelan, put down his teacup, and closed the newspaper with an air of pride. “I like reading it upside down.” he said.

Faelan just felt speechless.

Vincent continued, “Elysia, I’m glad you haven’t forgotten your study.”

Elysia chuckled. “Thank you, Mr. Hartley.”

Meanwhile, in the Ludwig residence, Thorne sat in the living room, crying with his face red and swollen as he recounted the events at school. Melissa frowned deeply as she listened.

She gently patted Thorne’s back, her expression full of concern. “Dennis, that girl from the Rosewood family is completely out of line! How dare she bully Thorne like that? You can’t let her off so easily!”

Dennis’s face darkened as he frowned, appearing deep in thought.

“I’m talking to you, Dennis!” Melissa snapped when she didn’t get a response, tapping his arm with a little more force.

Finally, Dennis snapped out of his reverie, shaking his head slightly. His tone was resigned and weak. “We can’t touch that girl.”

Melissa was furious when she heard this. “What do you mean? How could a small family like the Rosewood family be a match for the Ludwig family?”

Dennis shook his head. “You don’t understand the point. Remember? During the birthday party of that girl, the two major families from Jorlandia, along with the most powerful figure, all came to celebrate.

“Besides, I’ve heard that she’s now Vincent’s last student. With that connection, even if we want to go after the Rosewood family, we have to think carefully.”

Melissa’s anger simmered down slightly as she listened. Although Dennis made some valid points, she still couldn’t swallow her frustration. “Maybe it’s not as serious as we think. In the business world, there’s a lot of acting for appearances.”

Dennis waved his hand. “It’s not that simple. And what about the Hayes family? The Owner of Arcanum House stepped in for Elysia. Do you know what that means?”

Before Melissa could respond, Dennis continued, “It shows their connection runs deep. Think about it–who in our circle could be on such terms with the Owner of Arcanum House? Yet, Elysia has managed it.

“Whether or not it’s just an acting for appearances, Elysia is connected to far too many powerful forces. We can’t move against her. If it were the old Rosewood family, we wouldn’t have to worry, but now, it’s different.”

Dennis sighed deeply. Although the Ludwig family was indeed powerful, they understood the situation well. If they hadn’t, they wouldn’t have remained strong and unshaken all these years.

Thorne, who had been listening to their conversation, grew increasingly uneasy. He quickly stopped crying. “Dad, Mom, are you not going to teach that girl a lesson?”

Melissa reached out to comfort him, ready to say something. However, before she could, Dennis snorted and said, “Blame yourself! Every time you’re bullied, you go back home expecting us to fix it.

“How could I have such a useless son? Just swallow it and don’t bring it up again!”

Hearing that, Thorne cried again. Seeing this, Melissa’s heart ached even more. She shot Dennis a glare. “Why are you being so harsh on him?”

“Why can’t I? He’s completely useless. We’ve been spoiling him!” Dennis pointed an accusatory finger at Thorne. “Listen, from now on, your allowance is halved. If you dare cause any more trouble, I’ll kick you out of our family!” Without waiting for their reactions, Dennis stood up and stormed out, leaving Melissa and Thorne to process his words in silence.
