Chapter 144 Odalyn’s face lit up with joy. “Elysia is not only beautiful but also incredibly understanding.”

One woman chuckled and said, “The more you praise that girl, the more I want to meet her. By the way, our son still doesn’t have a girlfriend. If she’s suitable, I wouldn’t mind reserving her in advance.”

Odalyn replied with a gentle smile, “Such words cannot be taken lightly. After all, I’m not her mom and hold no authority.”

Later that evening, the tour ended. After escorting Elena back to the bar, they headed back to the Jackson residence.

Elysia, who was sitting in the back seat, caught a glimpse of Logan grinning in the rearview mirror and teased, “You seem to be in a good mood.”

Elysia said, “I don’t mind you liking Elena, but if you dare to hurt her for any reason, even though you’re my cousin, I won’t let you off.” Elysia spoke with utmost seriousness.

Originally, she wanted to share these feelings after Logan won Elena’s heart, but seeing his sincerity, which felt far from a fleeting whim, made her feel it was necessary to express them sooner.

Regardless of what the future held, one thing was certain–Logan must not harm Elena. If he did, she would make sure to uphold her promise to protect her.

Logan observed Elysia’s earnest expression through the rearview mirror and nodded solemnly. “Don’t worry, Elysia; even if it costs me everything, I will not hurt her.”

Fate is a curious thing, much like his connection with Elena. In the past, he had been surrounded by many women, yet none captured his interest; he felt no spark—rather, he found them off–putting.

Upon hearing his vow, Elysia simply nodded. When the car reached the Jackson residence, Elysia stepped out. As she entered the house, she immediately spotted several noble ladies chatting on the couch.

As soon as Odalyn noticed her, she waved her hand with a bright smile. “Elysia, come here.”

After hearing this, Elysia approached the ladies. Odalyn took her hand and pulled her down to sit beside her, introducing, “This is my niece, Elysia, who I often mention.”

Then, turning to Elysia, Odalyn explained, “I’ve told my friends about you, and they have wanted to meet you for a long time. You weren’t here this afternoon, but they waited until now.”

“Good, just remember to take those clothes I bought for you.”

Elysia was startled. Odalyn wanted her to take them all. She imagined her suitcase overflowing and worried whether she could carry them all the way.

With that thought in mind, she quickly linked her arm with Odalyn’s and, in a tone like a pouting child, said, “Odalyn, let those clothes stay here; I plan to return and wear them.”

Pouting even more, she added, “Or are you saying I am only allowed to visit you once?”

“Not at all. If you enjoy here, I would be delighted for you to visit every day.” Odalyn tapped Elysia’s forehead playfully.

“Odalyn, you are so nice.”

“Alright, you can leave the clothes here for when you come back.”

“Thank you, Odalyn.”

Elysia caught herself feeling surprised by her own playful behavior. ‘Is this Ava’s influence?‘ She quickly dismissed the idea, thinking perhaps it was just that Odalyn was so caring that she momentarily saw her as a mother figure.

Only those who are loved could act this way. Over the years, she had imagined being held by her mom, playfully seeking affection, but she had never known that feeling; not in the past and not now. Though she felt it a little with Odalyn.

Thinking of Bella, a bitter smile crossed her lips. She was a woman who loved her adopted daughter more than her own. But wait, her true daughter remained uncertain. Once Elysia returned to Sivro, everything would be clear.
