Chapter 120

Pampered By Power: The True Heiress Returns

Chapter 120 Chapter 120 The few students in the back quickly quieted down, “There’s an exam this afternoon. Now is not the time to discuss answers. If it affects our mood, it will be completely unhelpful, Elysia said firmly 57%

The others nodded in agreement, but they also looked eager to see if their answers were correct. If they were right, it would be fantastic. But if they were wrong, it would surely ruin their mood.

Thinking this, they started to leave, some linking arms as they went.

“Elysia, are you going to the cafetería?” Ava asked.

“Yeah,” Elysia replied, standing up as Ava quickly bounced to the door.

However, just as they got to the doorway, Ava suddenly stopped. “Justin, what brings you here? Are you looking for Elysia?” she asked, tilting her head.

“Is she here?” Justin asked, looking around.

“Yes,” Ava said. Almost right after she spoke, Elysia appeared in the doorway.

Ava stepped aside quickly. “You’re looking for me?” Elysia asked, taking a step forward and smiling warmly at Justin.

“Congratulations on becoming Vincent’s final disciple,” he said, grinning.

When he first heard about this from other students earlier that morning, he was a bit surprised. It was unexpected that Vincent’s last pupil would be Elysia.

“Thank you,” Elysia replied, her smile widening.

“Are you going to the cafeteria?” he asked.

Elysia nodded, “Would you like to join us?”

“Sure,” Justin said.

The group headed to the cafeteria, catching the attention of many other students along the way.

“Look, that’s Elysia, Vincent’s disciple,” someone whispered.

“Wow, I didn’t notice before; she’s beautiful.” another exclaimed.

“She’s not just talented; she also does really well in her studies and is Vincent’s apprentice–how amazing.”

“By the way, has she ever submitted any artwork? I haven’t heard about it.”

“Grace switched the artwork of Ava and Elysia, and Vincent chose Ava because of Elysia’s piece, which made a big mess. That’s why Grace got into trouble.”

“Ah, I get it now.”

“Even though the school didn’t talk openly about it, the gossip spread all over.”

“Breaking news: Grace’s mom came to the school early this morning and took all her books and things. She probably won’t be back.”

“Why not?” someone asked, looking puzzled.

“Are you not paying attention? Grace’s family is really poor, and without her being a top student, her parents can’t afford for her to stay.”

Bianca and a few classmates stood nearby, listening in on the conversation while their eyes were fixed on the trio not far away.

Elysia walked in the center, flanked by Ava and Justin.

Her charming face radiated confidence and energy, stirring growing jealousy in Bianca. ‘Why can Elysia always be so much better than me no matter how much I tried?

‘Why does Elysia have such unshakeable confidence, drawing Justin to her side? Vincent’s disciple, really? It is so unfair?

At first, Bianca hadn’t thought much about it, as she never intended to compete. She hadn’t heard Elysia express any desire to be a painter either. Even if Elysia did, as a girl from a poor village, she shouldn’t paint well enough to be chosen by Vincent.

When the announcement went out that Ava was chosen, Bianca stayed calm. But moments later, when they announced that Elysia was the one picked, panic set in. She knew that Elysia with this new title would catch more of Justin’s eye.

Indeed, barely half a morning had passed since the announcement when she saw them walk side by side. Bianca felt resentment boil inside her.

Before Elysia showed up, Justin never really seemed close to anyone. He always kept to himself. Back then, Bianca felt confident, certain she was the standout girl in class and that she deserved Justin’s attention.

But ever since Elysia arrived, each event chipped away at her confidence.

Not only had Elysia taken the top academic spot from Justin, but her skills in basketball had also made her unforgettable to many–an image no one could shake off. And now, she had become Vincent’s disciple.

Bianca felt jealous. As she watched Elysia walk away, her expression turned icy.

A classmate, noticing Bianca lost in thought, gently nudged her. “Bianca, are you okay?”

Only then did Bianca snap back to reality, realizing she had lost her focus. She forced a smile. “Let’s go.” She marched ahead, ignoring her friends beside her.

They exchanged confused glances, wondering what was bothering her. Before they could think more, Bianca had already moved on, making them scramble to catch up.

When they reached the second floor of the cafeteria, they found a table by the window. Almost immediately, a waiter came over with a smile. “What would you like to order?”

The girls looked especially nervous, exchanging awkward smiles with the waiter. “We’ll order in a bit,” one of them said. The waiter left. None of them came from wealthy families, and the second floor’s prices at Milton School’s cafeteria were well–known for being high. They usually stuck to the first floor, but today, they followed Bianca upstairs.

If their cards had enough money, it wouldn’t be a problem, but they were almost out of funds. Bianca kept her eyes on Elysia and her friends at a nearby table, completely unaware of what was happening around her.

At this moment, one of her friends quietly tugged at her sleeve and whispered, “Bianca, should we head back to the first 019 1558 Thu, 13 Feb Chapter 120 floor instead?”

Bianca frowned slightly. Now that they were on the second floor, it felt silly to go back down. If Elysia saw her leaving, she might think Bianca couldn’t afford food, and Bianca would never let that happen.

Plus, she really wanted to keep an eye on Elysia and the others; she could not leave. “I want to eat here,” Bianca replied, her tone a bit sharp. She felt her friends often tried to pull her back.

Upon hearing this, the girl nodded, “Alright, how about we go to the first floor, and you stay here to eat?”

Bianca furrowed her brows deeper at this idea. If others saw her eat alone here, they’d surely think she had no friends.
