Chapter 224 - Master Luo’s Odd Actions

Just as Cao Zhibai’s words made Ling Chuxi look at him in a different light, Fu Chengyu was equally shocked by his words.

Cao Zhibai started to chat with Ling Chuxi again while Fu Chengyu turned his head slightly to look out of the carriage window. Just watching over someone constantly without being a couple also works? Fu Chengyu felt his heart become a little chaotic. It seemed like there was even such a method of liking someone?

“My family’s Wen Qing is the gentlest. She is a woman that is as gentle as the calm waters in a deep lake. Chuxi ah, when you meet her, you will definitely like her.” Cao Zhibai’s fair face was blushing as he spoke. The more he talked about Wen Qing, the more excited he got and the happier he was. During the chat, he seemed to have grown closer to Ling Chuxi and was directly calling her by her first name now. And he was comfortable sharing personal things with her, describing to her Wen Qing’s hobbies, her favorite food, how she liked to nap and whatnot.

“Really? She actually likes to eat roasted chicken that much? I like it too!” exclaimed Ling Chuxi when she heard of the beginnings of such an interesting topic and got into a fervent discussion about it soon after.

Along the way, though the journey was long, Ling Chuxi did not find it boring and very quickly, they arrived at Cao Zhibai’s hometown smoothly. It was a quiet little town. Cao Zhibai’s house was at the border of the small town, near a stream and a bamboo forest. The environment was very elegant, it made one immediately take a liking to it the moment one saw it. Wen Qing’s house was another wooden house near Cao Zhibai’s house.

After Cao Zhibai made arrangements for where everyone was to room for the next few days in his house, he sat down restlessly and looked towards the wooden house nearby. Ling Chuxi naturally understood his intentions. First of all, he was missing his lover. Secondly, he wished for Ling Chuxi to immediately go over to perform a diagnosis on Wen Qing’s legs, but he thought that asking Ling Chuxi and the rest who had just arrived to immediately go over there without having a break was a little too much.

Ling Chuxi coughed deliberately to get Cao Zhibai’s attention. “Big Brother Cao, please bring me over to take a look at Miss Wen Qing.” Ling Chuxi looked at the restless Cao Zhibai and said this with a smile.

“Ah? How could this be a good thing to do now? You have just arrived and have yet to rest even a little,” replied Cao Zhibai. Though he said so on the surface, his earnest gaze gave away his inner thoughts.

Ling Chuxi could practically see a row of words forming through his blazing gaze that said, “Quick, let’s go, Chuxi, quickly follow me to take a look at my Wen Qing! Hurry!”

Ling Chuxi smiled wordlessly. Then she said, “It’s all right. Let’s go, Big Brother Cao. Big Brother Fu, you can stay here and rest.” Fu Chengyu nodded, thinking that there shouldn’t be any major problems. Luo Li on the other hand, immediately stood up. “I’ll go with you guys.”

Of course, Luo Li wanted to tag along. He wanted to see what exactly Ling Chuxi would do to cure Wen Qing’s legs!

Ling Chuxi was noncommittal toward Luo Li’s attitude. Towards Luo Li, Ling Chuxi did not have much ill feelings. After all, Luo Li did have the capital to be proud, and additionally, Ling Chuxi did not really hate the way he did things. He only saved people he wished to save. Such a reckless person. Although, perhaps that wasn’t so bad either. As for his contempt and doubt towards her own medical skills, it also wasn’t that odd. Any normal person would have had this same reaction. Cao Zhibai brought Ling Chuxi and Luo Li out the door. Fu Chengyu sat by a window he could observe them all from and thus he did not have to worry about not keeping watch over them by not tagging along.

When they were near the other wooden house, Luo Li suddenly stopped and stood just outside the door.

“Master Luo? What’s wrong?” Ling Chuxi looked hesitantly at Luo Li who had suddenly stopped. Wasn’t he dubious of her medical skills and wanted to personally verify them? If so, then why was he not entering alongside them?

Luo Li coughed. “I will be standing here for a bit, just to feel the breeze blowing for a while. I’ll come over shortly,” said Luo Li awkwardly as he looked towards the sky and coughed again.
