37. My Prince!

The next few days passed much the same, with me waking up to breakfast and finding notes scattered around the house from Jai. We spent all our free time together, and it felt good to see this version of Jai. He was more carefree, and he openly shared his thoughts and opinions with me, even seeking my advice, which made me feel special.

I had almost forgiven him. I knew I might have forgiven him easily, as Varsha said, but I couldn't resist him after everything he'd done for me. He was making an effort, and I couldn't ignore that.

The other day, he took me out to dinner, and it felt really good to see him being possessive and protective, moving around me like a lost puppy. Jai acted tough at work, but when it came to me, he was all soft and caring.

Or maybe I was just living in a delusion.

The girls had decided to go shopping the next day, which was a Sunday, and I had the day off today. Jai, being Jai, only took Sundays off.

It was already 9 am, and I was having breakfast. I decided to implement a cute plan today because Jai had been working hard for a long time, which was mentally draining him. I wanted to make the day special for him and give him the prince treatment today. It wasn't much, just the things I usually did for him every day, but I wanted to make it official today.

Since Jai hadn't left for the office yet, I had the perfect plan.

"Hey Jai?" I knocked on the bathroom door.

"Yes, princess?" he responded.

"Are you busy today?"

"For you? Not at all." he replied, making my cheeks turn red.

"I wanted to ask you something," I said.

"You are allowed to come in, you know," he said, his smile evident in his voice.

I missed that – taking showers together, kissing until we were breathless.

We were back on track, but physically, I didn't want to rush into it. 'Because you want it to be love, not lust' my mind said.

"Ahmmm" I left the place with a red face, sitting on the bed, waiting for him.

When he finally came out of the bathroom, only with a towel around his waist, all those muscles popping, it was illegal to be this hot.

"That's for the compliment, wifey" he winked at me. Did I say that aloud? What the hell.

"You know you're hot, Jai" I rolled my eyes and tried to play it cool.

"That I am." he smirked.

"So, you wanted to talk about something?" he asked, placing his hands on either side of his waist, still in a towel.

I wanted to kiss him so bad.

"Get dressed first!" I threw his shirt on his face and left the room with a smile on his face. I just knew resisting him was hard now. I wanted to give in.

"Jo aap bole ma'am." he teased me.

"Dress casually" I added.

I went and got dressed because I had planned a lot of things today.

I put on a dress that was not too revealing but looked cute. It was more like a summer dress, not the kind I usually wore. I did a little makeup and put on my heels.

I had ordered flowers online because there were no flower shops around our apartment. I would have opened one; the sales would definitely be high.

As soon as Jai walked out of our bedroom, I blocked him.

"To the prettiest man ever" I handed him the bouquet of flowers, and the look on his face was the cutest thing ever. He smiled widely; it was one of those moments where I wanted to click a picture and keep it with me for a lifetime.

"Thank you, baby. You're the best." he took out a single rose and gave it to me.

"Thank you," I blushed.

"How do I look?" I did a twirl.

"Like mine," he winked. Real smooth.

"So, what's today?" he tried to recall. Every day was special when I spent time with this man.

"Nothing."

"Then?"

"A day out with me. You down, Mr. Singhania?" I smiled at him.

"Let's go, baby," he placed his hands around my waist, his scent surrounding me.

"You're not going to ask me where?" I was curious.

"I know you aren't going to tell me anyhow." he returned my smile.

"True" I winked at him.

"Let's leave?" I asked, and he nodded.

"What do I need to do? I need a little information here, miss," he sighed.

"Nothing. Just follow me."

"I do that all the time." Jai winked. He was such an idiot, but in a cute way.

"Let's go," I intertwined our hands and headed towards the lift.

As soon as we got down the elevator, I took out the keys to his 'least-priced' car, which was an Audi – not a shocker. I wanted to drive us around today.

"Get in, mister. We have places to go," I opened the door for him, and I got into the driver's seat.

"Are you sure we're going to live?" he taunted.

"Haha. Funny," I rolled my eyes. I knew how to drive, and I was a safe driver.

First, we headed to his favorite restaurant for brunch.

"It's been a long time since I came here," he said with a smile. I knew he hadn't had the time to.

"I know," I placed my hand on his, and he intertwined our hands. We headed inside the restaurant and took a seat.

We had our food, with me chatting about how excited I was for the trip and him listening to me and asking questions in between. I loved that he was such a good listener.

When we were done, I paid the bill. It was finally my turn today. Jai never lets me pay the bill. Never.

We headed to the nearest movie theater. Jai loved watching movies. He had been a fan of movies since college and even now. So I took him to one of his favorite movies.

Let me rephrase. I bought out the whole theater for ourselves and played his favourite movie 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara'.

Jai had no idea about anything. He thought we were here with everyone and we were watching one of the latest movies.

"Why is nobody here?" he asked curiously.

"I don't know," I shrugged.

"It's that boring?" he eyed me.

"Hey, it wasn't boring according to the reviews," I replied.

"Sure," he rolled his eyes.

When the title got revealed, the happiness on his face was unmatchable. He looked like a kid who got his favourite chocolate.

"You did this for me?" he said to me with the biggest smile ever.

"I'd do anything for you," I replied with a smile that matched his.

Then throughout the movie, my head was on his shoulder, and his head was on mine. Our hands were around each other. This was what I'd always wanted, and I would always want. Just us. Together.

We watched the movie and danced together whenever the songs played. It felt good to see Jai loosen up when he was away from the workload. He looked happy.

"Let's head home?" I asked after the movie ended.

"Sure," he replied.

Then I drove us home. The day didn't end here. I'd planned a skincare session for us. Jai didn't have an opinion on skincare, but it was relaxing, so I added it to the day.

"My favorite part of the day." I grinned as soon as we entered our living room.

"Why do you sound like that?" he asked.

"Like what?" I grinned harder.

"I'm scared, Ani" he said, as if I was going to make him eat his goldfish. He didn't even have one.

"Don't worry. It's going to be fun."

"Our ideas of fun are different," he answered back.

"If you say so," I rolled my eyes.

I brought out the box containing our skincare products and placed it on the sofa beside Jai.

"Skincare time!" I grinned.

"I love my skin, thanks," he put on a straight face.

"You'll love it."

"No, thanks."

"Please, Jai." I put on a cute sad face.

"Nope"

"Pretty please?"

"Not falling for this again."

"Ugh, leave it," I took up and decided to leave. He caught my wrist and made me sit back in my place.

"Let's do skincare?" Jackpot. The plan worked.

"Sure" I smiled, and he understood that he fell for it.

"How do I always fall for your trap?"

"I'm irresistible."

"That you are," he placed a kiss on the side of my neck.

Then I did his skincare with a couple of serums, ending it with a face mask. It was cute watching Jai with a face mask on, matching with me, but it was funny nonetheless.

Then I decided to make dinner for both of us.

Both of us were craving Italian, so I decided to make pasta for us. I collected all the ingredients and started cutting the vegetables.

"Hey Siri, play 'fav' playlist," Jai said loudly. Then the living room filled with songs.

"Will you dance with me, princess?" Jai held his hand forward.

"Sure, my prince," I placed my hand in his.

I danced in the kitchen, laughing at stupid jokes, having my favorite food with the best man on the planet.

We were so close to each other, one moment we were dancing, and the next moment Jai pinned me against the counter. I felt his breath near my neck, and slowly he came up to my ear and said, "I just need one more thing now," and brought his lips closer to mine.

Guess who's finally back? Yep, it's me. I missed y'all so much!

And yes I'll try to update every week from now on. There are only a few more chapters left, and I'm going miss these two a little too much.
