Chapter 897
Man With Super Medical Skill (Matthew)
Chapter 897 Itâs Love, Not Subsidy Tate was stunned. âI donât have that much money, Minnie. This is a big project.â
Minerva waved him down. âIâm not talking about investment money. I just want to get him a good hotel so he can focus on R&D. Heâs living in a cheap motel just to save money right now, and Iâm worried about his health.â
âMinnie, y-youâre subsidizing him?â he asked.
Minerva shot him a glare. âWhat are you talking about? This is true love, not a business deal. Heâs trying to create a business, but since I donât have enough money to invest, at least I have to show some support. Tate, youâll only be appreciated when you help someone in need. Peterâs not that successful, but itâs just temporary. If I donât help him now, he wonât give back to me once he makes it in life.â
Tate nodded. âYouâre right, Minnie. Thatâs what my friends told me as well. A friend in need is a friend indeed. Only those who help you when youâre in need are your true friends. I donât have much, but here, take my two grand.â
Minerva was delighted. âI knew youâd understand me, Tate. Donât worry. Iâll tell Peter to secure a great position for you once his project is done.â
Tate nodded with a smile, looking forward to a bright future.
A while later, Minervaâs phone rang, and she took the call. But after she was done, she looked upset, much to Tateâs surprise.
âWhat happened, Minnie?â
Minerva teared up. âPeter just called me. He⦠He said his friend in Wall Street got into a car crash, so the money wonât come through. He sought Timothy out earlier for assistance, but Timothy said he would only purchase the project with a measly thirty million. Peterâs distraught, a-and he criedâ¦â
Tate stared at her in disbelief. âW-What? Heâd only pay thirty million for a project thatâs worth ten thousand times more than that? Is he a monster?â
Minerva sighed. âThatâs just how sharks are. What should we do, Tate? This is his lifeâs work. Are we just going to let it end like this?â
Tate didnât want to let it end just like that either. He thought about it for a long time and asked, âHow much more does he need? How about we try helping him out?â
Minerva shook her head. âWe canât. He still needs about seven million. Where on earth can we get seven million for him?â
Tate was petrified. He could ask his friends for help if it was a few hundred grand, but not when the money was in the millions.
âOh, dear god. This is just not our day. A hundred-billion project, but Timothy is only willing to pay thirty million for it? How are we supposed to get our revenge like this?â Minerva lamented.
Tate was flushed with anger. He clenched his fists, frustrated and powerless about the situation.
However, he kept thinking, and he finally got an idea. âSay, Minnie⦠why donât we ask Aunt Helen to help us out? Sheâs handling the pharmacyâs funds, and she told me she has about twenty million left.
We can ask her to lend us seven million. Once Peterâs project is finished, weâll pay her ten times what we owe her. Thatâll do it. Aunt Helen has always been nice to us, so this is just us paying her kindness back. What do you think?â
All at once, Minervaâs eyes shone. âHey, thatâs a great idea! Aunt Helen loves us. Sheâll help us! I just know it!â
