Chapter 58
Man With Super Medical Skill (Matthew)
After they left the Graham familyâs house, Mr. Harrison let out a long sigh of relief.
âMr. Larson, thank you so much for your help!â Mr. Harrison sincerely said.
However, Matthewâs expression turned solemn. He glanced at Mr. Harrison and in a serious tone, he said, âMr. Graham is not safe yet!â
âWhat?â Mr. Harrison asked in surprise. âIs Mr. Grahamâs illness not fully cured?â
Matthew replied, âOf course his illness is cured. However, his problem isnât completely solved yet!â
âWhat do you mean by that?â Mr. Harrison asked curiously.
âThe spell that was cast on him is not that simple. Witches wouldnât simply cast spells on someone, let alone a spell that would stop one from having children, unless they are holding a deep grudge against said person!â
Mr. Harrison looked at him in shock. âAre you saying that he offended a witch?â
âYes, thatâs what I think!â Matthew replied with a nod. âThe witch will immediately know when the poisonous worm is removed. If he was cast with a spell because of deep hatred, I suspect that the witch will come back for him!â
Mr. Harrison asked, âIs there any way to save him?â
âWeâll have to wait and see.â
Not long after Matthew returned to the hospital and sat down, he received a call from Stanley. It turned out that Cunningham Pharmaceuticalsâs bank account was frozen by the bank. The deposits transferred by the people yesterday were all frozen and couldnât be used, so the company didnât have any liquidity and couldnât do anything at all. This was the reason Sasha went to the bank early in the morning.
Hearing this, Matthew frowned and asked, âWhy did the bank freeze the company account?â
Stanley replied, âCunningham Pharmaceuticals have taken many loans from the bank and they are even joint guarantors with other companies. Usually, it is a normal thing but yesterday, the bank suddenly received a list of Cunningham Pharmaceuticalsâs accounts and it showed that there was a big problem with the companyâs transaction records. At the same time, negative news about the other companies that are joint guarantors with Cunningham Pharmaceuticals were suddenly exposed. That was why the bank decided to take emergency action and freeze all the companyâs accounts.â
Matthew frowned. All of these happened at the same time so Iâm sure thereâs definitely somebody behind this.
âThere is more than a billion in Cunningham Pharmaceuticalsâs bank account so even if something happened, the money they have is enough to compensate. Why did the bank freeze their account?â
Matthew asked.
Stanley replied, âIt may sound like a small matter but it also could be serious. Under normal circumstances, the bank will not freeze accounts as long as the money in the account is enough to compensate them. However, since the bank insisted on freezing the account, it is obvious that they are targeting them. Once their account is frozen, Cunningham Pharmaceuticals will no longer have liquidity.
According to the size of the company, they might go bankrupt if their account is frozen for more than two weeks. Even though the bank is just investigating and going through a process, it is enough to ruin a corporation.â
Matthew clenched his fists. No wonder Sashaâs eyes were bloodshot today. It seemed like she felt aggrieved after her trip to the bank.
Then, Stanley lowered his voice and continued, âMr. Larson, Iâve done some investigations as well and found out that the person who is in charge of this is the senior manager at the bank called Bart Jenkins.
He has a lot of power in the bank. Even though I donât know Mr. Newman well, I believe that if heâs willing to talk to the bank, the bank will definitely stop bothering Cunningham Pharmaceuticals!â
Matthew shook his head and said, âThereâs no need to ask for Mr. Newmanâs help. Iâll handle this myself!â
