Chapter 1062: A Gift for the Boss

Chi Xia could no longer sit still. She jumped up from the sofa and ran towards the bedroom, shouting as she ran, “”I’ll change and go downstairs now. Dad, I’m very busy and don’t have time to come over.”

Father Chi thought about it and agreed. “”I’ll get your mother to prepare some gifts for her. After all, she sent you to school and even gave us such an expensive gift. We have to express our gratitude.”

In the bedroom, Chi Xia’s mouth twitched. What present did she have at home? Su Chen didn’t need it at all. It would be a waste to give it to him!

When Chi Xia was done cleaning up and walked out of the bedroom, she saw Mother Chi handing her many bags of things. ” This is some bacon and sausages that we made at home. There’s also some food. Even though it’s a small gift, it’s just a token of our appreciation. ”

Chi Xia was speechless.

Chi Xia had no choice but to take it. After saying goodbye, she rushed out of the house and heard Father Chi’s voice behind her, “”I made your boss wait for so long. Apologize to him later.”

Chi Xia felt a headache coming on. When she went downstairs, she saw Su Chen’s car parked at the entrance. Through the car window, she glared at the man inside and reluctantly opened the door to get in.

The moment Chi Xia closed the door, Su Chen started the car and drove off.

Chi Xia looked at the man beside her. He was silent and his face was obviously angry.

He didn’t say anything, and she didn’t say anything either. She just sat at the side and remained silent.

Su Chen finally couldn’t help but look at the woman beside him and said coldly, “”You missed work for two days, and I came to pick you up. Is this your attitude? Do you think I can’t contact you just because your phone is turned off?”

“My phone is out of battery. I didn’t turn it off on purpose!” Chi Xia denied it. She thought about it and retorted, ” I didn’t skip work. I transferred all the money to you, but you didn’t accept it. Are you blaming me? ”

“Are you the boss, or am I the boss? Who has the final say?”

“You know that you’re my boss, but you’re still taking advantage of me. You’ve already broken the rules. Give me the penalty!”

Seeing how unreasonable he was, Chi Xia was furious. He had taken advantage of her during New Year’s Eve and ruined her New Year’s Eve. She would think of him from time to time and her mind was in a mess, but he acted as if nothing had happened!

Su Chen raised his eyebrows. ” What did I do to you? ”

His innocent tone rendered Chi Xia speechless. Did he not know what he had done to her? He actually pretended to have amnesia!

Chi Xia bit her lip and turned her face away angrily. She cursed softly, “”Rascal!”

Even though Chi Xia’s voice was very soft and she just wanted to vent her anger by scolding him, Su Chen still heard her words.

“Shouldn’t I deduct your salary if you call the boss a scoundrel?” the man beside him said calmly.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

Chi Xia was speechless.

Was he a dog? His ears were so sharp!

Su Chen looked at the bag that Chi Xia was carrying after sending her to the car and asked, “”What are you holding?”

Chi Xia then remembered the thing in her arms. She couldn’t see what was inside the black bag, so she put it in the backseat as if nothing had happened and replied, “”It’s nothing. It’s my thing.”

She would not give him the delicious food that her mother had made herself. Even if she gave it to him, he would not care. She might as well keep it for herself.

Su Chen didn’t say anything. Just then, Chi Xia’s phone rang. She saw that it was Mother Chi.

Su Chen raised his eyebrows. ” Didn’t you turn off your phone? ” Could it be a zombie?”

Chi Xia was speechless.
