Sharp
Up in the Stars
Hello!
I'm back!
I'm so sorry for the long wait.
Finals week was incredibly stressful and then I went away for the weekend with my family.
However, the semester is over and that means I'll hopefully have more time for writing!
I hope you're all well.
Enjoy!

A small girl watched a bird watch the world.
Etched in the morning light reflecting through the window, she was unaware until he spoke.
"Ready?" Alexander asked and she turned.
With a smile and a nod, she laced her fingers with his.
Enid hadn't known there was an underground portion to the estate.
A narrow metal staircase behind a locked door that led down and down.
It is more modern than she expected, a contrast to the museum-esc quality of the rooms upstairs.
The walls are white and blank but for black, sleek doors each with an electronic lock about the handle.
They walk to the right, into a more open space where glass windows showcase a line of targets.
"This is the gun range." He explains as he walks to another locked door with a keycode.
As he pushes open the door, a small gasp falls from her lips.
The room is filled with guns, large and small.
Alexander enters the room with a graceful ease and pulls one of the smallest guns down from the closest wall.
"I think this will be a good starting place for you. It's small and cute like you." He winked at her as he grabbed the corresponding ammunition and locked the room back up.
"I don't know anything about guns." Enid admitted, eying the silver weapon with unease.
"That's alright, angel. Here, let's start with how to hold it." His warm grin eased her nerves some.
The metal was cold in her trembling hands.
"The safety is on, so don't worry about it going off." Alexander slipped behind her to help position her arms.
For a while they worked on holding it and practicing firing it without taking the safety off.
He also gave her a lengthy lecture on gun safety.
She tried to keep a straight face as he looked down at her sternly.
It was strange to see him so serious.
Then they got to the real deal.
Enid shook with nerves as he removed the safety and showed her how to load the bullets.
He placed the protective earmuffs and gear on her with a small chuckle.
"We'll have to order some smaller gear for you, little one." Alexander tugged the earmuffs up to fully cover her ears.
He lined them up in front of one of the targets and ran his fingers across her tense shoulders.
"Relax." He whispered in her ear and she sunk against him.
Calmly, he guided her stance and walked her through the steps.
She bit her lip as she squeezed the trigger, her arms shaking from the rebound.
His arms held hers steady, his firm chest pressed against her back.
Her ears were protected from the loud noise by the earmuffs, but she still felt it in her bones.
"Good girl." Alexander gave her a proud smile, pressing a kiss on her temple.
The shooting lesson continued for a few hours until she finally managed to get onto the target.
"Alright, let's call it a day." He said finally and she sighed in relief.
He took the gun from her and secured it before putting it away.
She tugged the protective gear off and looked at it in annoyance.
Suffice to say shooting wasn't her new favorite hobby.
Her father had given her a gorgeous bow and arrow for her thirteenth birthday.
He had spent that summer with her in the field behind their home, teaching her the right pressure and angles for hitting a bullseye.
Enid had loved the feeling of power it gave her, the burst of energy as the bow flew.
Handling a gun was different.
It was louder, more dangerous.
Deadly.
Taking a sip from her water bottle, she stretched her limbs.
Alexander turned back to her, a flash of something dangerous in his eyes as stared at the exposed skin at her waist.
A plain white shirt was stretched across his toned torso, highlighting his strength.
Watching him wield such dangerous weapons was strangely attractive.
A rosy flush spread across her cheeks as she tugged the material of her top down.
"How did you learn so much about guns?" She asked, half curious and half in need of a distraction.
He had been spouting off facts all morning, drawing from a seemingly endless well of knowledge.
It reminded her of her musical lessons with him.
"I've always been interested in weaponry. I started reading about World War II guns when I was ten and I got really into it. I just like how many options and types there are. It's like musical instruments, there are so many different varieties and each one is played a different way. Wielding guns makes me feel powerful in the same way that playing music does." He explained sheepishly, a light pink dusting his sharp cheekbones.
"It's very impressive." Enid beamed at him.
She took a step closer, reaching up to pinch a fallen eyelash that was resting against his golden skin.
He stared down at her, his ember eyes flickering.
"Make a wish." She whispered, raising her fingertip with the eyelash to his lips for him to blow.
"I've already gotten my wish, angel." His voice was low, carnal.
He moved even closer to her, erasing the inches between them.
She sucked in air, pulling oxygen into her suddenly empty lungs.
And then he was upon her, his lips slanting perfectly over her own.
His fingers laced through her curls, tugging lightly to get her lips to part.
She did as he wished and was rewarded by a low groan from him.
Alexander pushed her against the wall behind her, his hips pressing firmly into her own.
His lips left hers as he pressed searing kisses down the column of her neck.
Strong hands gripped her hips, tracing the waistline of her leggings.
She exhaled at the sting as he nibbled on the soft skin near her erratic pulse.
He soothed it with his tongue, whispering sweet words to her.
"I adore you. I adore you. I adore you." He punctuated each with a heart wrenching kiss.
His hand slipped beneath her leggings, now dancing along the lacy top of her underwear.
"May I touch you?" His question nearly a plea.
"Please." Her voice was breathless and unfamiliar to her ears.
He slipped beneath the soft material and suddenly she was gripping his arm.
Gasps and soft moans leaving her as he drew maddening circles.
Liquid heat building in her as he pushed her more firmly against the wall.
His fingers rubbing against her in perfect patterns.
There was something about his hands.
So skilled at playing instruments, shooting guns.
Making her come undone.
She writhed against him, her eyes opening to find him watching her with heated eyes.
"You're a real-life angel." His voice melted her.
Wisps of adoration brushing against her forehead as worship fell from his lips.
She shattered, her legs shaking as he held her up.
For a few minutes, all was silent but for her soft pants and his loving assurances.
Enid straightened her top as she regained full awareness and smiled shyly up at him.
"Can-can I make you feel like that?" She asked nervously, nibbling on her lip.
He groaned and leaned his forehead against hers.
"God, I wish I could take you up on that. I've got to get to an appointment, though. I'll take a raincheck." He winked and grinned wolfishly.
"Raincheck." She agreed with a nod.
And a mental note to get on google and do some research on making him, them, feel good later that night.
Enid always was an overachiever.
