The Lingering Sounds of Blooming Flowers
Lu Chenfeng opened his mouth and didnât say anything. Lin Chaosheng noticed his hesitance and narrowed his eyes under the sunlight, âYou can tell me if you have any requests.â
Lu Chenfeng replied, âNot really requests, I just thought it may be offensive.â
Lin Chaosheng heard him and leaned back, âIâll be the judge of that, do you want to tell me first?â
Lu Chenfeng paused for a while and asked, âWhat do you usually do?â
âMe?â Lin Chaosheng smiled, âBathe in the sun, drink some tea, take a stroll, enjoy the beauty of flowers.â
Lu Chenfeng was amused by his answer as it rhymed.
âDo you think that Iâm wasting my life away?â Lin Chaosheng asked.
âLife doesnât have a template you have to follow, and no one can judge or define what your life should be.â Lu Chenfengâs low voice scattered in the wind and the sunlight started to warm up, âIt is meaningful as long as you like it.â
Lin Chaosheng looked at Lu Chenfeng with complicated emotions in his eyes as he curled up his fingers in his woolen jumper, âI suddenly want to know what your last job is.â
Lu Chenfeng turned to him, âWanna have a guess?â
Lin Chaosheng asked, âIs it easy to guess?â
Lu Chenfeng pinched his nose, âProbably⦠Not that easy.â
âNo hurry,â Lin Chaosheng said, âI have another week for this.â
Lin Chaosheng headed to the fence and stretched lazily, changing the topic, âJian Yi charged you an extra dayâs fee. We have discounts during March and April; stay for six days and we give you another day for free, Iâll refund it to you.â
Lu Chenfeng refused, âItâs okay, I donât eat outside anyways, take it as money for food.â
âOr money for a tourist guide,â Lin Chaosheng put his arms on the fence and a smile could be heard from his voice, âBut Iâm not professional, donât complain about that, Mr. Lu.â
Lu Chenfengâs feelings were like the wind. The clouds scattered away and the sky was bright. He asked gently, âWonât I hold up your time to bathe in the sun, take a stroll, drink tea and enjoy flowers?â
Lin Chaosheng reminded him, âIâm the owner of this place after all, providing service to my guests and earning money comes first.â
Lu Chenfeng nodded, âThen I wonât feel guilty.â
In the front lobby, Jian Yi was handling the procedure for newly arrived guests. Someone knocked on the counter and he looked up, âBrother?â
Lin Chaosheng stretched out his hands, âGive me your motorbike keys.â
âFor what?â Jian Yi pouted protectively, âWhat are you planning to do to my dear bike?â
âBorrowing it for a day,â Lin Chaosheng stuck up his index finger, âIn exchange for dinner tomorrow. Iâll make you pineapple fried rice tomorrow.â
Jian Yi was a foodie and he willingly gave the keys to Lin Chaosheng without a second of hesitation, âAwesome, deal!â
