Sanaya whispered something in his ear. He said, “Okay.” We didn’t hear what she told him. We didn’t even ask her. She started talking very friendly to us. She started talking about our studies, our family life, she began cracking light jokes while discussing the latest web series and movies.Within ten to fifteen minutes, she made us very comfortable with her. I said, surprised, “Oh gosh! I am not feeling like I met you for the first time. By the way, what’s the name of your school.”She answered, “Gurukul public school.”Vaishali - And your class? Sanaya - Plus one. Divya - Oh, you are two years older than Nikhil!Vaishali frowned at me cuing me that I said a very stupid line. I stuttered, “Oh.. I .. I am sorry.”Nikhil and Sanaya both chuckled. She said, “There is nothing to be sorry about. Age doesn’t matter when it comes to true love. Nowadays, it’s very very difficult to find a good boy. So, we should ignore age.”I said, confirming, “You are absolutely correct. Nowadays, it’s really very difficult to find a good boy. All are jerks!”Sanaya - Hmm… you are right.Hearing that, she started looking at me in a different way. Perhaps, trying to look into my past.I felt I made a mistake by confirming her statement. I thought, “What will she think of me? She must be thinking now that I must have tried many boys in my life and I found all of them jerks. Well, it’s true to some extent but I don’t want to expose myself before her. Moreover, she is two years older than me, much more experienced than me. She can easily smell what’s going in my mind.”The dish that Nikil ordered came on our table. The dish was Kahadi paneer along with butter naans. A word escaped from Vaishali’s mouth, “Awesome.” Both of them started smiling and looked at each other sneakily. We enjoyed the very delicious dish and filled our tummies to the brim. Meanwhile, normal light conversation also continued. But they didn’t pamper each other or tried to show that they loved each other very much. They behaved just like friends. Obviously, that made me and Vaishali more comfortable with Sanaya. After the lunch, now it was time to depart. Sanaya said with a very pleasant smile on her face and said, “Divya, you are really a very cute girl. Can I get your number?”I smiled and said, “Of course.‘ I gave my number as well as Vaishali’s number to her. She gave her number to us. They bid goodbye to us and exited the restaurant. We also came out of the restaurant. Vaishali said to me, “Divya, please don’t feel bad but Sanaya really seems to be a great girl.”I felt a little jealousy in my heart but admitted the fact somehow, “Yeah, she is good and knowledgeable too.”Vaishali - Nikhil is very lucky na…I said, twitching my lips, “Sanaya is far luckier than Nikhil.”She understood my hidden feelings and preferred not to say anything else than that. But her face was clearly telling the story that she was very impressed by her personality.I said in a straight tone, “Let’s go home now. We are getting late.”She said, “Yeah.” She got on her scooty and I on mine. We started our scooties and reached home while thinking about Sanaya. The whole night, I kept on thinking, “I left a diamond for the stones. I left Nikhil for Vicky and Sahil. I am the biggest fool on the earth. If he rejected me, I should have waited for him. And what did I do? I immediately started finding other boys. They trapped me and ruined my life.”“Now, I will never be able to bring Nikhil in my life. He has got a new girl now. The truth is that Sanaya is better than me. In looks we may be equal to each other but she is more intelligent than me.  Perhaps, I may become very intelligent too in plus one class. But anything may happen by then. As my life is moving, I don’t think I will reach even near her in intelligence.”Tears pooled up in my eyes. I started weeping, “I have lost Nikhil. I have lost him forever. Sanaya is a very good girl. She will never leave him.” I closed my eyes. Tears were still trickling down on my pillow. I said to myself within my mind, “Divya, time has changed. You have missed your time. Now, you should accept the new reality. You have to learn to see Nikhil in somebody else's arms.”On Sunday MorningI woke up at about 6 a.m. I got off my bed and walked upstairs to reach the terrace. I walked to the corner of the terrace and started looking in the direction where the sun was about to rise. The sun was behind a small cloud. It was about to come out. I started focusing on it. Perhaps, I wanted to forget everything else. Soon, the sun started coming out and the beautiful rays of its light began to soothe my skin. I wanted to forget about Nikhil, Vicky and Sahil. I wanted to start a new life like the new rising us.I stood there for about five minutes. I thought, “Nature is really very beautiful. It really has a great healing power.” I prayed to the rising sun, “I pray to you please give me energy to live a life peacefully. Please guide me. Please help me in making my life a bit smooth.”My mobile phone rang. I took out the mobile phone from my lower’s pocket. I was surprised to see that it was a call from Sanaya. I felt a bit better when I read her name on my mobile’s screen.
