Since then, I have decided that I will be living in a house in the capital.

However, I won’t be living alone. It was decided that I would also be living with someone who would be keeping an eye on me.

I didn’t have any luggage or anything. I only moved to my new house with just the clothes I had on me.

“If you have anything that you need, I will have it prepared for you. So please don’t hesitate to let me know.”

Makoto politely said.

As usual, she’s wearing comfortable looking clothes.

Now that I think about it, I haven’t seen her wear a skirt.

She’s always wearing pants.

Inside the room, there were changes for clothes, but only pajamas.

These were the same sets of pajamas that I used when I was staying in the royal palace.

For the time being, I asked for just the bare minimum of cosmetics; it should be enough for now.

I can’t exactly stay inside all day after all, and I can’t have Lord Edward taking care of me for the rest of my life.

So I can’t rely on him all the time.

Lord Edward is Rachel’s husband, as well as my assassination target. And every day, I need to remind myself of that fact.

If I don’t, I fear that I might go insane with all of these warm memories I have of Lord Edward thanks to Rachel.

The one that Lord Edward loves is Rachel, not me.

Even though I just moved to a new house, I don’t really have any baggage with me. I decided to quickly go into town and look for a job.

For now, I’m under supervision, so before I left, I told Makoto; but, it seemed like she was busy was something and just gave a half-hearted answer in response.

But, she still replied to whatever I said, so I left on my own.

I really have to wonder if it’s fine to be this lenient on someone who’s supposed to be under surveillance, but Makoto is probably keeping watch with some magical tool or something. The tools that she makes are pretty amazing, after all.

As an assassin, I have experience doing several things to blend in with the environment, so I should be able to do any job.

But the job I have the most experience working on is being a servant in a mansion.

Since a lot of assassination targets were people with money or power, I used to blend in as a servant for their mansions.

However, to be a servant, you typically have to live in the mansion you’re working in. So this time, I can’t work as a servant.
