Chapter - 8

"So you met her at the hospital?"

"Yes"

"And you heard her voice? Which you followed and it ultimately led to her?"

"Yes"

"So, she was singing in a hospital, where people are required to maintain silence but still she was singing like a damn pyscho. Maybe trying to heal people with her voice because as you said her voice is magical. It healed you." Angleo says in a sarcastic manner.

"You know you are making it sound really bad that's not how I told you and that's not what happened."

"First of all I am not making it sound weird, it is weird."

"Second, that's what you exactly said."

He is getting on my nerves right now.

"No, I mean yes I said that but not like the way you are describing it."

"Oh well I think he described it perfectly fratello ( brother )."

Luca interjects

"Luca you stay out of it."

"No, he is right and I am right too. I know capo it's difficult but you have to understand it's been really hectic for you. This ball event, the fight, the russains and you haven't really been following doctor's orders it sometime happens."

He says cautiously

"Wait a second." I interude angelo

"You think it's all just my imagination. A hallucination, just something I created.

I say exasperately

"It's not an imagination whatever I said has happened. It's all real you shit heads."

I yell, my patience running out by dealing with these stupid assholes.

Fratello, I know it can be difficult to understand but you need to face the truth. You know with insomnia, anxiety issues and the stress you have been dealing with for the past few days it's normal to be a little delusional.

Luca says in a consoling tone

"Luca you too. Why don't you two fucking believe me?"

I yell in desperation to make them understand my point.

"Okay capo calm down. We get it. Everything is true, that singing girl is true, you meeting her, everything." Angleo tells me trying to calm me down his face full of caution as he passes me a glass of water.

I grab it and gulp it down.I know these shitheads still don't believe me and probably think I have gone crazy but I don't have energy left in me to make them understand and there are other pressing matters that need my attention.

"Okay leave all this and tell me the news you wanted to inform me."

"The russian mafia today is going to visit the hospital."

"What's new I know that."

"The new thing is that through our sources we came to know that he is looking for a girl here on our island. He has appointed a spy searching for her and has found her too and will probably meet her at the hospital."

Angleo says

"Who's she? Is she someone that important that he is willing to take the risk of exposing his spies that too on his enemies land."

"Well that's where it gets weird. She is a normal girl who is a doctor at our hospital. She just joined the hospital and has absolutely nothing to do with mafia. She's not suspicious at all. I don't know why he is taking such a big risk of appointing a spy in his enemies land for mere girl."

He says his face full of confusion.

"Hmm that's not like him. There must be something. Do have a photo of that girl?"

I inquire

"Yes actually I do have a photo of her. I did all the required research on her but nothing came out."

He says as he pass me a folder.

I open the folder and I what I see makes my mind numb.

It's her the singing girl, my singing girl my symphony.

"Her name is Kuhu Oberoi. Just came to Italy and now is working at orthopedic department of centarl hospital."

I can hear angleo say but am not paying attention to him.

All I can see is the photo in front of me.

"I dont think that she even know Xavier but he for sure know her and now that I think back, I think he is arranging a visit at the hospital only to meet her."

"May be he wants to see his men."

Luca interjects

"You are right but he wouldn't have cancelled his meeting with mexican mafia just for the sake of his men. In mafia business people get injured all the time, it's not a big deal but with him really pressing on making this visit happen. All this is really suspicious."

Angelo explains

"Are you sure that she is the girl he is searching?"

"Yes 100%."

"Fuck"

I curse loudly

"What happened capo are you alright?"

Luca asks concerned

"no non ho ragione, cazzo

(no I am not fucking right )."

"But what happened?"

He probes

"She is the girl I was telling you guys about. She is the one who was singing and who unknowingly helped me. She is the one who I want. She is the one."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes I am fucking sure."

"But then why is xavier searching for her?"

I hear luca ask

"I dont know but you have to find out why."

"Okay okay we will do that but first you have to calm down."

Angelo intervene quickly seeing that I am on edge after hearing all this.

"Calm down how am I supposed to calm down? That fucker is after the girl I desperately want and we dont even know the reason. It's absolutely ridiculous but knowing him it must be something big."

"Didn't you said that he is going to the hospital today and that girl works at the hospital too. Maybe we can stop their meeting and it will make him desperate. He may take a step revealing his intensions." luca says

Something he talks like a sensible person.

"When is his visit scheduled?"

I ask angelo

"It's in an hour."

"Get ready we are going there too."

"What if that girl is also involved with them?"

Angleo speculate

"Aren't you the one who did whole ass research on her and still didn't find anything."

I spat at him tired of hearing him trying to paint her shady.

"She is a normal girl who has no idea of all this mafia shit. I have met her and I can validate that for her."

"Capo I don't trust her. First she sings at your door, then during your visit at hospital. Now Xavier is looking for her."

"stai zitto ( shut up )."

I interude him.

"You are going too far First that hallucination thing, now this. So just stop before I punch you."

I say tried of all his spewing about me being mentally unstable, imagining everything and now her being a dangerous person.

"And it doesn't really matter what you and Luca think. I am the boss and I will make the choice. Now drive fast."

I tell him. He is my friend and Luca is my brother I have given them the freedom of speaking their mind but still I am the boss here and they are subservient to me. Them not believing me is a disrespect and I can't tolerate that.

"Yes capo."

He says with all seriousness knowing better than to push my buttons right now.

"But what will we do there?"

Asks luca from behind

"We will stop him from meeting and seeing her. We need to make sure that he thinks that the information he got is false and she doesn't work there.

Angleo says

"What if xavier has got address with him too. We can stop them from seeing her in hospital but what about her house."

Angleo suddenly points out

"Also if xavier is searching for her maybe other mafias are looking for her too."

"What do you mean other mafia are looking too?"

Luca asks

"I mean if xavier is taking the risk of finding her and making his spies active in his opponent land then it must be something big and there are still 2 days left for the final ball to occur. So other mafia might be looking for her too." Angelo explains

"Well what will we do now?"

Luca asks

"Don't worry I'll take care of everything and will make sure that she is fine."

I say with solemnity in my voice leaving no space for questions.

"Well it's quite weird for the great mafia Lorenzo to himself come and assist me in my visit to MY injured men."

Xavier the bastards says while emphasizing on my.

"It's not that wierd, seeing you cancelled your meeting with mexican mafia just to meet some of your men." I retort back

"That's because I care deeply for my people unlike someone else."

"I can see how deeply you care for your people but do know one thing that I don't care for many people unlike you,

I care for only a few and the one I care for are the one for whom I am ready to stop wars and ready to begin them too if required."

I say with my voice deeping with each word.

"I am not the one to back down from wars either."

He says while stepping in my direction

"We will see who is the one to back down."

I say taking at step in his direction to show him who assert the power here.

"мастер (master) I think we have met all the patients here we should make a move."

His men comes besides him and say.

"Yes you are right. We should move."

He says knowing it's useless to waste anymore time here.

I will not let him do what he wish as long as I am present here.

"Well then nice meeting you."

He says and extend his hand forward

"My fucking pleasure."

I say as he takes my hand for a shake which is far from friendly.

"See you at the ball."

I say

"See you at the ball."

He repeats and makes his way out

"You know after my meeting here that day, I didn't thought you would be of any use Mr Ricci."

I say while extending him a cheque.

"It's my pleasure that I can be of use to you."

He says while taking the cheque.

"If you don't mind sir but why did you ask me to stop Miss Oberoi from briefing today?"

"Mr Ricci it's better not to know somethings for your own good."

I tell him with a smile.

"Yyyyyy yes sir I II am sorry. I wwwill take my leave."

He says and rushes out.

"What's next you stopped them from seeing her at the hospital but you can't always be there around her."

Angleo asks

"Looks like I have to pay someone a visit."

I say with a smirk on my face

"Fratello, this is crazy you can't make her do all that."

Luca says trying to make me revert my decision

"Luca I can make her to do whatever the fuck I want."

"But capo you know she won't agree to all this."

Angleo says stating the obvious

"I will make her agree."

"I have made up my mind already and you both know better than to argue with me."

I tell them before they make any stupid statements.

"Capo we are here."

I heard the driver say as he got down and opened the door me.

"Either you both do what I say or go back."

"We will do as you say."

Angelo says

"Good now follow me."

I make my way inside hospital going straight towards the lift.I press 4th floor and get in with angleo and luca by my side.

Ding sound resonates in air indicating we have reached 4th floor.

We get out of the lift and in front I can see the board which on it's written.

Department of orthopedics

I quickly make my way inside towards her cabin my body filled excitement on finally being able to see her again.

When we were about to reach her cabin I stopped and turned around to addresses the two fools which are here with me.

"You both don't need to follow me inside stay outside and make sure noone enters the cabin until I come out."

They both were about to protest but with a sharp look from me they shut their stupid mouth and nod.

"And give me that."

I say while grabbing the bouquet of roses I bought for her from luca's hand.

With a deep breath I move further and reach the door of her cabin. I don't know why but I'm feeling nervous. I never in my entire fucking life have felt nervous that too for just a stupid meeting.

Shaking all the jitters I move in and am greeted with her beautiful site.

She is sitting on the chair with her hands on the desk holding some papers, too engrossed in reading them and not noticing me at all.

Her hair are tied back but still a few strands have slipped and are resting on her pretty face. She turns the page and puts the pen with which she was marking something between her luscious lips.

I don't know why but this site is more erotic then it should be. She still has the pen trapped between her cherry stained lips while she is trying to move the strands of hair which have escaped from the rubberband and are resting on her face.

My focus is still on that pen which have the privilege of touching her lips.

God what would I not do to be that pen in this exact moment. I can't believe it but I am really envious of that fucking pen.

Suddenly reminded of our first encounter in which I was staring at her like a fucking creep. I fix my stature look staright avoiding the site of the pen between her lips and fix the bouquet in my hands.

I clear my throat to get her attention.

With that sound she looks at me with those gorgeous eyes of her.

She sports a look of surprise like she didn't expect me here and still can't believe I'm here. She sure looks surprise but from the look of her face I can tell it's a pleasant one.

Now this makes me smirk seeing that may be even I have the ability to put her in a trance.

To break her out of her reverie I ask her

"Am I invited?"
