Melanie, who was arranging the documents, froze. She looked at Eugene, but he had already retracted his gaze and was flipping the pages of the contract.

“Is there anything you want to take?” Walden spoke to break the awkward atmosphere. He asked Eugene cautiously, “Why don’t | go and get it? I've asked Miss Smith to make a table. She might have to proofread it now.”
