Chapter 393
How My Ex Became My Next by Kirk Stanley ( Gilda Lynch )
After coming out of the police station, Gilda was in a bad mood.
Jackson followed her closely and handed her a bottle of water. âDrink some water and have a rest.â
Gilda shook her head slightly.
Jackson, I want to be alone.â
After saying that, Gilda walked alone along the path. Jackson stood there and stared at her back.
Owen went back and walked up to him. âWhy donât you follow her? What if something bad happens?â
âGive her some space, and weâll just follow her.â After Jackson finished speaking, he stepped forward and followed up. Owen shrugged his shoulders and helplessly shook his head to keep up with Jackson.
âAfter all these years, how could you havenât made any progress?â Owen looked at Gilda not far away, âDonât hesitate! If you hesitate again, she might run away with someone else.â
Before he could finish his words, Jackson glared at him.
Owen shut up obediently, pondered for a moment, and then said, âIâm just kindly reminding you. There are some things you donât have to hide. You should tell her.â
In Owenâs view, Gilda also liked Jackson. It was just that both of them seemed to be deliberately avoiding this relationship and never faced it squarely.
âAfter so many years of waiting, thereâs no harm in waiting a little longer.â As Jackson spoke his eyes softened a little. He looked at Gildaâs figure and said affectionately, âAs long as itâs her in the end, even if
itâs a little later.

Owen shook his head helplessly. Only when facing Gilda would he see a touch of tenderness from
Jackson.
And he couldnât say anything about such things as feelings.
Jackson asked, âDid you bring the computer?

Owen replied, âIn the car.â
âGive it to me for a while.â Owen then waved his hand, and the driver drove over. The two got in the car,
and Jackson said, âHelp me pay attention to her safety.â
Owen said, âDonât worry. Iâll keep an eye on her for you.â
Then Jackson picked up the laptop and typed quickly on the keyboard.
Gilda walked along the road alone. The leaves of sycamore trees had turned yellow, and pieces of golden leaves were blown away by the wind.
Itâs autumn again.

Pedestrians come and go hurriedly on the roadside. Gilda shuttles through the crowd alone, immersing in her thoughts.
At this moment, a figure rushed towards Gilda. She slipped and lost her balance. Then she fell to the ground.
Just then, a figure rushed out from behind and grabbed her arm.
Gilda fell into a strange embrace.
They looked at each other. The man was wearing a mask and hat, only revealing a pair of deep eyes.
He stared at her face and said in a magnetic voice, âDonât investigate it. Go back home.â
Gilda was stunned and looked confused.
Before she could react, the man let go of her and walked away quickly.
Gilda hurriedly followed up, âWho are you? What do you mean by that?
But the manâs pace was fast, and he threw Gilda away very soon. When Gilda looked around again, he had already disappeared.
