chapter 8

Vivian Pov

We were taking Bella to the stables, for her to finally meet Duke, he loved staying at the stables and we wanted to ask her if she was okay with us being her caregiver before she met him

He's a fully grown German Shepherd, a pure bread obviously, not to be mistaken by his size he is actually very sweet to those who are important

I think he is absolutely going to love Isabella, he is very gentle with me and Gloria but he's just as protective as well

That's exactly why he's the Royal dog, no one can come near us while he's around, he's also a trained finder and we love him

"Are you excited to see who were meeting?" I asked, approaching the stables, she lifted her head up and looked at me nodding her head

"Sebastian, we're here to see Duke" I told the Sebastian who is our stable incharge "yes you're majesty" He bowed and left to get him

A few seconds later, I heard quick patter of feet and Duke ran out of the stable where he was staying running straight up to me

"Hey buddy" I greeted him, he sat down right in front of me, looking at Bella with a curious look, tilting his head to one side

"Baby, this is Duke he's our dog, Duke this is Isabella, she's our little princess, be nice to her" I introduced both of them and Bella was now giving Duke curious looks

Understanding what I just said, Duke gave off a small bark and wagged his tail, of course he wants some attention "you wanna say hello to him baby?"

I gently asked Bella, Duke was the most well behaved dog, but he was also a very big dog and I wouldn't be surprised if Bella was scared of him

"Puppy? Nice?" She asked, still staring at Duke with curiosity and looking at me "he's very nice honey, shall we say hello to him?" I asked and set her down after she nodded

Duke being the good boy he is, he waited eagerly for pets from me and I scratched behind his ear which he loves, I crouched down with her

"Gently honey" I said holding her hand and letting her pet him, he wagged his tail and leaned into her hand, enjoying all the attention he was getting

"Hey boy, I see you both met" Gloria entered the stable and Duke was immediately by her side rubbing his nose on her

"Hey buddy" Gloria like me gave him plenty of pets and he came back to where me and Bella were

"He loves Bella" I whispered to Gloria who had now moved closer and Bella had decided to sit down Duke's face inches away from her and he allowed her to pet her wherever she wanted

"You ready to go back in hon?" Gloria eventually asked Bella who was now sitting cross legged and Duke's head was laying on her lap

She looked up hearing her name but held on to Duke's collor, pouting slightly "Duke can come too honey, he stays in the castle" I explained

Her face lit up and she stood up nodding her head "are you feeling up to discussing our rules and punishments?"

Gloria asked holding her hand as we made our way out of the stables, Duke following us.

Gloria Pov

Duke absolutely loves Bella, I already knew that, he's the best dog anyone can ask for

We quietly walked towards Vivian's study room, it's slightly bigger than mine and i absolutely love it

"This is my study, most days you'll find me here, Gloria has one that's attached to the bedroom" Vivian explains to Bella who was looking around the room in awe

Vivian went and sat down at her usual spot behind the desk, which left the two seats opposite to it for me and Bella

As if knowing what was about to happen her grip on my hand tightened, I moved towards one of them sitting down first and pulling her on my lap

"We should probably take you shopping soon honey, at least get you some clothes from your apartment" I stated, wrapping my arms around her waist to keep her close

Duke had decided to lay down near my leg, seemingly tired from all the excitement "should I read out the rules to you? Tell us if you are not okay with anything and after that we'll do punishments and rewards"

I asked looking up at my wife to see her nodding and I got a small nod from vivi too, Vivian pulled out a piece of paper from her drawer, it was the rules we had agreed on

She gave it to me and I held it so that both me and Bella could see it, " Okay here we go

1. Always respect everyone

2. Dont be rude/mean

3. No hitting/yelling for no reason

4. Your health is important always put it first

5. Make sure to tell us what you are feeling, and if something is bothering you

6. Don't lie to us

7. Bedtime is at 11

8. Always take care of your toys and belongings

Are these okay?" I asked once I finished reading them

She gave a firm nod, we stuck to very basic ones for now and we'll change them if and when needed

"do you want to read over them for a minute or shall we move on to punishments and rewards?" I asked pressing a small kiss to the side of her head

"We can do punishments and rules please?" She asked, looking at vivian for confirmation, she wasn't feeling very little right now, and she was also quite tense I can imagine why

"Sure honey, okay here they are

Punishments

1. Time out

2. Early bedtime

3. No screen time

4. Quiet time (when you need to quiet down)

5. Writing lines

Rewards

1. Sweets/candy/treats

2. Late bed time

3. Tour in the village

Do these sound alright bub?" I asked reading it out and setting the paper back on the desk

"It's okay, but what if I can't sleep? Some days I have hard time going to sleep" She asked hesitantly, leaning back into my chest

"Call one of us if that happens, if you have trouble some days that's okay darling, as long as you go to bed and try to sleep when we ask" Vivian said reaching over and grabbing the paper

"Vivi?" She asked in a small voice, she was a big couple of minutes ago but that's completely gone now

"yes sweetheart?" Vivian asked keeping the paper safely back in her drawer and looking up "sit in the big chair?" She asked with pleading eyes

"My chair honey?" Vivian asked softly, pointing to the one she was sitting on "uh huh big chair" Bella repeated nodding her head

"Of course sweetheart, come here" Vivian replied with a smile and got up lifting Bella of my lap and placed her on the chair

"You took my cuddle buddy babe" I asked pretending to pout and looking at Vivian "hush babe, you get plenty of cuddles from me and her" She said quietly crouching down in front of Bella

"Lookie ria! M'queen now!" She exclaimed, trying to mimic my serious face, which was quite adorable "you're our little princess honey, and guess what" I explained softly

"What? But I wanna be Queen, like you an vivi" She asked with a wobbly lip, little one wanted to be just like us

"Our kingdom already has 2 Queens, but we only have one princess and that's you" I explained and watched at Vivian taped her nose gently, making her scrunch it up

"You okay with being our little princess darling? It's a one of a kind job" Vivian explained softly now leaning against her desk and looking at Bella who seemed to look even smaller in vivi's big chair

"Uh huh, wanna be princess and be wif vivi an ria" She explained reaching out her hand and making grabby motion at vivi

I watched vivian chuckle softly before lifting her up looking down at Bella and touching her nose with Bella's and I couldn't help but click a picture of that scene

"You weren't enjoying sitting on my chair little bug?" Vivian asked touching her forehead against Bella and pressing a small kiss on her nose, she's such a natural caregiver

"It cold to sit alone, an you an ria give nice cuddles, warm an safe" Bella whispered it to Vivian just loud enough for three of us to hear it

"I'm happy you like our cuddles bubba, and you're absolutely correct it's no fun sitting alone" Vivi said in a whisper as if she was speaking a secret

"Babe what's the plan for tomorrow?" I asked moving close to them and giving them each a kiss

It's the annual meeting conference tomorrow and we both are the ones hosting it this year, all the rulers from four neighbouring kingdoms are going to come

"Can we talk about that later?" Was the only thing Vivian said and judging by her tone, she's not happy I bought it up in front of little Bella

Seeming to sense the tension in the air, Bella glanced at me curiously and then back at Vivian "what tomorrow?" She lisped out, somehow her thumb making it's way into her mouth

"We should get you a paci honey, that's yucky" Vivian cooed softly pulling her thumb out, she blushed profoundly and hid in her shoulder

She mumbled something in Vivian's shoulder making Vivian let out a soft chuckle and pat her back

"Let's get you that paci and see what else we can do" Vivian said glancing at me for a brief second and walking out with Bella, I followed her out, it sucks when you're wife is mad at you
