I can't help thinking you are the star
today i set you as the wallpaper on my phone.
i did it so that you'd be the first thing i saw when i opened my eyes in the morning
and the last thing i said goodnight to
even when you are not here with me, and this is
only another way of saying i want to
be closer to you all the time and i do not expect you to physically fill
every last empty void but when you are elsewhere i will recreate statues in your absence.
they will all be of you, of course,
each one memorializing one of the many things i adore about you.
it will take a miracle for the marble to speak
back to me the way you do
it is only a sparkless imitation of your magic after all,
but it will have to suffice until you return.
in the meantime, i do not mind
being a museum filled if i am
a museum filled with you.
