Chapter 2050 - Just the two of us
The 99th Divorce
Shen Manting was slightly taken aback.
Although she had seen the child several times over the course of her stay at the hospital, she struggled to come to terms with the fact that this chubby boy had emerged from her belly.
Shen Manting bent down and looked at him.
Shen Yuexiao was staring back at her. Both mother and son exchanged gazes for a long time, before the latter extended his arms and shouted, âI want a hug, Mommy.â
Shen Mantingâs heart suddenly softened. She smiled affectionately and reached out to lift him into her arms.
âManting is finally home,â Nanny He muttered with reddened eyes. âItâs good to have you back.â
Shen Manting blinked at her with a bewildered look on her face.
Shen Luoâan noticed her confusion and pointed out, âThis is Nanny He.â
Shen Manting greeted Nanny He politely. Then, she followed Shen Luoâan into his room with the child in her arms.
âThis is our room.â Shen Luoâan pointed to a small bed inside. âThe child sleeps there.â
Shen Manting nodded.
âAre we sleeping here?â She walked over to the large bed and glanced at it as she spoke.
When she turned around, she noticed a strange expression on Shen Luoâanâs face.
Shen Manting thought she had blundered. She shuddered and whispered warily, âArenât parents supposed to sleep together in the same bed?â
She didnât have parents growing up, but she knew that the parents of other children slept in the same room, in the same bed.
Shen Luoâan looked at her tenderly and nodded. âIndeed,â he replied.
Shen Manting heaved a sigh of relief and sat down on the bed with the child in her arms. She gushed excitedly, âThis bed is huge! Iâve never slept in such a large bed before. Itâs so bouncy and comfortable!â
âIs Manting back?â Shen Manting heard an old womanâs voice that sounded comfortingly familiar.
Shen Manting set the toddler down and stood up from the bed. When she walked out of the room and saw the old woman approaching, she shouted, âGrandma.â
Old Mrs. Shen gasped and rushed forward to embrace Shen Manting. She was teary-eyed. âItâs good to have you back. Youâre finally out of the hospital. Take a stroll outside with Luoâan later.â
Shen Manting nodded and chuckled, âMy husband promised to take me out for a feast today!â
She called him her husband...
Nanny He paused and turned around in surprise upon hearing that.
Meanwhile, the rest of the family werenât the least bit surprised as everyone was well aware of the extent of Shen Mantingâs memory loss.
Old Mrs. Shen nodded and said, âAll right, go ahead, then. Take care of Manting, Luoâan.â
âAll right.â Shen Luoâan smiled. âWe wonât be bringing Little Moon along. Please look after him.â
âAll right.â Old Mrs. Shen broke into a grin.
Now that Shen Manting was finally letting her guard down, she was more than glad to create more opportunities for them to be alone together.
Shen Luoâan took Shen Manting for a walk in the neighborhood. She was fascinated by the sights and sounds around her.
She didnât resist when Shen Luoâan held her hand.
Her palm felt soft and warm.
But she was too skinny.
âLetâs go.â
âOkay!â Shen Manting responded cheerfully and entered Shen Luoâanâs car. âOnly the two of us, hubby?â
âYes,â Shen Luoâan answered as he looked at her affectionately. âJust the two of us in our world.â
Shen Manting blushed and whispered, âAre we going on a date?â
Shen Luoâan chuckled. He leaned closer to her and said, âMove closer.â
Shen Manting leaned over wide-eyed. Then, she closed her eyes and pouted her lips.
