Chapter 1588
The Love that Never Really Dies
That was so embarrassing! Why did I do that just now? Vivian walked hurriedly toward Sonia and
avoided looking at that young man. She was utterly embarrassed with herself.
At that moment, her face blushed as red as a rose.
From behind, Dwayne's eyes were glued to her. However, he knew she had somebody else on her
mind. Since it was his first time facing a rejection, he couldn't help but sulk on his own at the stern
of the boat.
"Dwayne, do you mind teaching us how to cast the fishing net?â
âSure!â He put on a smile and walked over to Sonia.
The latter passed the net to him while Vivian was watching from the side.
Indeed, there was a trick behind casting a fishing net. Since the net Amelia's grandma gave to them
was a small one, they could end up with no fish at all if the net wasn't cast properly.
Dwayne handsomely cast the net into the lake.
âWow! You're good at this, Dwayne!â
âIndeed! I wonder if we can catch some fish!â Vivian praised out loud.
She was so keen on catching fish that she was lying on her belly by the side of the boat with her
head just above the water as she looked at the fish under it.
Kurt then walked toward her and lifted her by her life vest.
"Hey! What are you doing, Kurt? Why are you lifting me again? I want to see the fish!â Vivian
squirmed in protest.
However, the aloof young man didn't give her a hoot. He lifted her toward the seat on the deck
before putting her down. âSee them from here,â he instructed expressionlessly.
Again, Dwayne and Sonia kept mum awkwardly.
Although Dwayne was fuming, there was nothing he could do.
After a while, they caught a lot of fish with the net. Out of a sudden, the girls were jumping in
excitement when they saw the catch.
âWow! That's a lot of fish!"
"Exactly! There are crabs and shrimps as well! Vivi, we've got some shrimps!â Sonia squealed.
Upon hearing that, Vivian couldn't stop herself from running toward the catch and started picking
out all the shrimps.
Indeed, another of the reasons for their visit was to catch some shrimps and grill them back at the
villa.
When Dwayne saw how happy Vivian was with the catch, he felt proud of himself.
"Kurt, how about your net? Is it ready to be reeled in?â Dwayne shifted his gaze toward him. Right
then, Kurt was standing near the edge of the boat.
Much to his annoyance, Kurt didn't bother to answer him. Instead, Kurt was staring blankly at the
lake while ignoring his existence.
Seeing that, Dwayne was enraged. He glared at Kurt before noticing a fishing line at the bottom of
his own feet.
âAh!â Dwayne yelled while pretending to trip on the fishing line before tumbling down in Kurt's
direction.
The moment Dwayne thought he was pushing Kurt overboard, Kurt effortlessly stepped aside.
Suddenly, Dwayne was falling headfirst into the lake instead.
Splash!
The splashing sound was so loud it spooked the fish in the net.
Vivian and Sonia were busy picking out the shrimps when they heard the sound. They both stood
up abruptly and asked, âWhat happened, Kurt? What happened?â
âEverything's fine.â Kurt stared at the person in the water contemptuously.
Luckily for Dwayne, he knew how to swim. Otherwise, he'd have drowned in the lake.
The moment he went afloat, he glared angrily at Kurt with his bloodshot blue eyes. âHow dare you?â
âWell, who started it first? I'm pretty sure it was you.â Although the wind blew extremely strong that
day, Kurt was standing steadily on the edge of the boat.
Noticing that, Dwayne finally realized Kurt wasn't one to mess around with.
Suddenly, he remembered something. Half a year ago, he admitted that he was a bodyguard sent by
her dad to protect her. So? Are you trying to make a move on the girl? Dwayne scoffed internally.
"Kurt, are you into your princess? What's with you? Don't you remember what you said half a year
ago? Are you going back on your words?â
âWhat did you say?â Kurt was enraged by his words.
Almost immediately, a wave of murderous intent filled Kurt's eyes
While still in the water, Dwayne's expression changed upon seeing that. Nevertheless, he didn't back
down because he knew his words had hit a nerve.
âDid I say something wrong? Otherwise, what else would the interaction between the both of you
mean? To be frank, if a bodyguard from my family would act so despicably, we'd kill him right away.
Kurt, does her daddy know about this? Do you want me to tell him?â Dwayne provoked.
A moment of total silence ensued. Not a single sound could be heard on the lake.q
