Chapter 266
Meet My Brothers
Mia tenderly placed a hand on her abdomen and turned to Connor, Inquiring, âConnor, howâs Felix
holding up? He got injured trying to protect me.â
âFelix sustained a head injury and a concussion, but itâs nothing too serious. Heâs currently in the
hospital.
âConsidering the injuries he endured while trying to rescue you this time, I suppose he just about
qualifies as a hero.â
âConnor, my relationship with Felix isnât what you might think. Besides, Iâm pregnant, and it seems
unlikely any man would accept me in this situation.â
Upon hearing this, Connor couldnât help but frown.
âMia, please donât let the presence of a child make you feel inadequate. Your brothers are here to
support you, and together, your circumstances are anything but a hindrance.â
Connor went as far as belittling Felixâs abilities, dismissing them as merely average.
Mia chose not to engage in further debate with Connor on this matter. Instead, she purchased some
fruits and proceeded to the hospital ward to check on Felix.
To her surprise, she found a middleâaged woman in the room, presumably Felixâs mother.
With a pang of guilt, Mia questioned, âFelix, how are you feeling?â
âMia, are you okay? I was genuinely concerned that something might have happened to you.â Felix
expressed.
A warm smile spread across Felixâs face upon seeing Mia, though his head was still wrapped with white
bandages.
Beside Felix, Janice swiftly steadied him, cautioning, âFelix, be careful. The doctor emphasized that
you shouldnât be moving around too much with that concussion. It could impede your recovery.
âAlthough Mia seems unharmed, your injuries are quite severe.â
âMom, Iâve already briefed you on the situation, havenât I? Mia, donât pay too much attention to her. As
long as youâre okay, Iâm at ease.â Felix reassured Mia.
Mia had already discerned that the middleâaged woman was Felixâs mother.

She glanced at Janice and offered a sincere apology. âMrs. Quilter, Iâm truly sorry. This time, Iâve
undeniably caused trouble for Felix.â
âItâs good that you acknowledge your mistakes. Felix is usually treated like royalty, and heâs never
experienced such a serious injury, especially to the head.
âIf there are any lasting consequences, Felix might end up remaining single,â Janice remarked, her
tone infused with displeasure.
Mia drew in a deep breath before responding earnestly, âFelix sustained injuries because of me. If any
lingering effects persist in the future, I am fully committed to taking responsibility for them.â
Upon hearing Miaâs words, Janice appeared somewhat satisfied.
âThatâs more like it, Ms. Bowen. You have to understandâIâve been watching over and caring for Felix
with utmost dedication.
âIf anything were to happen to him, it would be difficult for me to face his deceased father, who
entrusted him to my care.â
Mia quickly stepped forward to comfort Janice. âMrs. Quilter, I hold no blame toward you. I understand
the depth of your concerns for Felixâs wellâbeing.â
âMs. Bowen, you strike me as a sensible and compassionate soul, one who knows how to
acknowledge and repay kindness,â Janice said, clasping Miaâs hand.
Despite feeling a bit awkward, Mia chose not to pull away, maintaining her seat with a smile that
seemed forced.
âMs. Bowen, Iâve heard that you work at Felixâs studio and have even achieved some noteworthy
awards. He often speaks highly of you in my presence,â Janice continued.
Mia offered a somewhat awkward smile. âYes. While Felix has been generous with his praises, I
must admit that Iâve caused him some trouble. Nonetheless, heâs been remarkably patient with
me.â
âIndeed, Iâve seen Felix consistently demonstrate kindness and generosity toward others. Ms. Bowen,
Iâm curious to hear your perspective on Felix. How would you describe your opinion of
him?â
H
Mia blinked, considering her words before replying, âWell, I think Felix is a nice person.â
âI must say, Felix has been remarkable since childhood, garnering quite a bit of attention from the
ladies. Back in his school days, he used to receive love letters quite frequently.â Janice added.
Felix interjected. âMom, why are you bringing up those moments?â

âFelix, thereâs nothing wrong with recalling fond memories. Ms. Bowen, pardon my directness, but are
you currently single? Do you have a boyfriend?â Janice asked, getting straight to the point.
Mia felt a surge of awkwardness. Was Janice trying to act as a matchmaker between her and
Felix?
