Chapter 83

Waking the Dead 🌶🌶🌶

The Twin Dragons Series: Requiem City

ZAYDA

~Another late night at the lab.~

It was becoming my daily routine: meet up with Xander at the laboratory to take blood, then go home feeling like a zombie.

Yesterday Xander had claimed that he’d taken all the blood he would need.

And I found that I didn’t want to be home anymore.

There was really nothing else that occupied my attention from my own worst thoughts.

It was bad enough that my friendships had taken a hit in recent weeks. Sure, I still talked with Darshan and Thea. But it wasn’t the same without Maddie, no matter how much she pissed me off.

Our lives were all on different trajectories, and the only one that seemed to get me was…

My stomach lurched at the recollection of Xythor.

All I wanted was to be held in his arms…to smell the sweet aroma of his body…to feel the soft touch of his lips…

I stood up from my station and thought about leaving. But where would I go? Back to an empty apartment, haunted by the ghosts of my memories?

It seemed better to be stuck in the depths of XU, consumed with work.

I’d finally gotten some energy back after feeling like a husk of a person after all the blood loss. With the prospect of another sleepless night looming, I decided to make my way to the lab.

Before heading to my workstation, I stopped by the kitchen. The lights flickered on, and I looked around at the empty table and chairs.

Apparently I was alone wherever I went—home or work.

I went to the coffee machine and turned it on. It buzzed to life as it warmed up the water and poured out a steaming stream of coffee.

I sipped the bitter liquid. It would taste better with some milk and sugar, but I was too damn tired to care.

The coffee moved slowly down my throat and into my stomach, warming my body. As I looked down the empty hall, I felt the sudden urge to explore.

It seemed no coincidence that the caffeine was already hitting me.

Instead of heading back to the laboratory, I walked in the other direction. It wasn’t long ago I’d found a room with secret blueprints.

~What other secrets could be hiding in these rooms?~

I wandered down the halls, listening to my footsteps echo off the tile.

Turning a corner, I realized that I’d come to a dead end.

I was about to head back to the laboratory when a familiar jolt of electricity surged through my body.

~Holy shit…~

The energy reminded me of what I used to feel in the presence of Xythor.

I shook my head, trying to wake up my brain.

Maybe I did need to go home…or at least cut back on the caffeine.

I took another step and nearly stumbled. There it was again! That spark was unmistakable. But why was I feeling it now?

The hairs on my arms stood on end. They pointed in the direction of an unmarked door, like an explorer’s compass pointing north.

I walked toward the unmarked door, and the gravitational pull grew stronger.

Something was behind that door…something strange and yet…familiar.

To my surprise, the door was unlocked. I turned the knob and pushed it open.

The lights flickered on. It took a moment for my eyes to adjust to the sight.

~What the fuck is going on?~

Before me, on a large metal table, lay Xythor’s body. His face, chest, and arms were exposed, while the lower half of his body was covered with a white cloth.

I knew that Xander was bringing him back to life…but I had no idea he’d already finished.

Why hadn’t he told me?

Xythor looked like the real thing. But it was hard to ignore the parts of his body that were covered with metal.

Something in my body told me to turn around and run…to get as far away from him as possible.

I just couldn’t force myself to leave.

He was the Xythor I knew—the one I’d grown to love. There was no mistaking the familiar energy surrounding his body.

It was his face, the arch of his brow and the bones of his cheeks. Each muscle of his chiseled body was exactly what it’d been before.

When Xythor had died, his body was gaunt. His muscles rapidly deteriorated, leaving behind only skin and bones.

Metal coils wound around his arms and legs, reminiscent of the blueprints I’d seen days earlier. Was this to strengthen his frail remains?

Or did Xander intend to use Xythor as some sort of prototype for his robot army?

I moved forward and reached out my hand.

I flinched as I touched his cheek. It was surprisingly warm.

Suddenly, the table began to rumble, and I jumped back.

Then Xythor opened his eyes.

At first, I wanted to scream, but there was no voice in my throat. I backed up and bumped into the wall, watching in horror as Xythor sat up.

His head turned and looked at me.

“Zayda?” he said.

It was hard to believe, but it was his voice. And those were his blazing blue eyes that recognized me.

He held out his hand and waved me toward him. Should I believe what was happening? What if it was merely a dream, and I reached out only to wake up at my desk?

Xythor had died. I’d lain at his side as his heart had ceased beating in his chest. But Xander, a man I’d grown to hate, had kept his word.

Somehow, with my blood and the process of alchemy, Xythor was resurrected.

“Please,” he said meekly, “don’t be afraid.”

I moved toward him and placed my hand in his.

“Xythor,” I said. “Is it really you?”

He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me closer. I reveled in the sudden burst of energy transferred between our bodies.

I’d thought I’d never feel this way again. And yet, it was happening!

“Who else could it be?” he asked.

I didn't know the answer to that, and I didn't want to know.

My hands touched his face, feeling every contour of his jaw. His blue eyes were still staring at me, and I couldn't help but notice the confusion.

He was just as lost as I was.

I bent down and kissed his lips, unable to stop the desire growing in my body. I’d spent too many nights longing for my man. And here he was in the flesh…and metal…

My hands ran down his bulging biceps and touched bits of cold metal. Contrasted with the warm skin, it shot bolts of chilled passion through me.

I removed the cloth covering the lower part of his body and gasped at the sight.

His cock was growing erect before my eyes. Somehow, it seemed bigger than it was before.

It just. Kept. Growing.

I touched his tip and gasped with pleasure. He rubbed my ass and squeezed gently.

I couldn’t deny this carnal passion anymore. I quickly unbuttoned my pants and kicked them off—my panties were next.

Xythor couldn't wait any longer. He grasped my shirt in both hands and with a firm tug, split it down the middle, ripping it off my body.

I unfastened my bra and let it fall away. The cold air of the room instantly made my nipples hard.

Xythor leaned forward and licked each breast. Shivers went up and down my spine as his warm tongue lapped at my skin.

I felt his heavy hand touch my legs, and I moved them apart. His finger rubbed against the crease of my pussy, stroking me softly.

I kissed him hard, our tongues dancing madly.

His finger slipped inside me, and I moaned with ecstasy.

Who knew that a robot’s finger could feel so damn good? I grasped his hand with my own and held it firmly against my clit while his finger fucked me into a near orgasm.

This was it…everything I’d been wanting—found right here in the depths of this godforsaken university.

Wasting no more time, Xythor grabbed my waist and lifted me up in the air, setting me down on top of his throbbing cock.

“Holy fucking shit!”

My body shook with unbelievable rapture as I felt every inch of his gigantic erection.

I looked into his eyes as I kept sliding down, wondering if I would ever reach the end of his shaft.

I finally stopped at the hilt of his dick but wanted more. I wrapped my arms around his shoulders and pushed myself tighter against him.

“Jesus fuck, I’m gonna cum!” I cried out.

Xythor’s hips rocked back and forth in gentle motions. He was sitting, holding my quivering body as his pulsing dick seemed to venture all the way up into my stomach.

~It feels so damn good.~

My grip grew tighter and tighter as I continued to bear hug Xythor. He didn't seem to mind, and in return, his hands wrapped firmly around my ass.

He pushed and pulled as his hips continued to gyrate. My legs dangled off the sides of the table and gravity kicked in, pressing me tighter against my man.

I felt as if I’d reached some type of blissful state only experienced by disciplined monks in remote mountain monasteries.

Tears streamed down my cheeks as I continued to cum over and over, soaking the table with my juices.

He came inside me, and I felt every burst of hot, sticky seed. It was as if a cannon had been released in my belly.

Finally, slowly, I stood up off his redwood cock. I lay down on the table beside him.

I looked into his beautiful blue eyes and wanted to tell him everything I was feeling. He was my one true love, and this was my second chance. I couldn't let him leave me again.

But if I told him everything—that would mean explaining the child growing inside.

Was I ready for his reaction so soon after we had been reunited?

If I didn’t tell him now, I wasn’t sure when I’d get another chance.

“Xythor,” I whispered, “I have to tell you something.”

“What is it?” he asked, kissing my cheek.

“I didn’t think I’d ever get you back.”

I burst into uncontrollable tears, overwhelmed by the realization that I actually had my man back.

Xythor embraced me in an unbreakable bear hug. I never wanted to leave his arms.

“I’m here,” Xythor said. “And I’m never going anywhere again.”

“Do you mean it?” I asked.

“Of course,” he replied. “I would never lie to you.”

More tears streamed down my cheeks. Xythor gently wiped them away. I couldn’t hold back my secret any longer.

“I’m pregnant,” I whispered.

Xythor smiled, and for the first time in days, I was whole.

I laid my head on his shoulder and stroked my hand down his chest. He kissed me on the forehead. I felt like a burden had been lifted off of my shoulders and tossed into the deepest ocean, never to return.

My eyes grew heavy with sleep, and within a few minutes, I could no longer hold them open.

***

~The sun’s orange glow bathed the clouds in the sky with its fiery light.~

~Wherever I was looked like a war zone.~

~Shattered glass and twisted metal from smashed cars littered the streets. I tried to find my way through the maze of destruction, but there was no safe path.~

~Every direction I looked was the same…nothing but ruin.~

~I tried to head toward a line of trees that outlined the beginning of the forest. The metal and glass crunched under my feet.~

~The closer I moved toward the trees, the worse it smelled. Burned hair and overcooked barbeque wafted in my nostrils.~

~I was unfortunate enough to look down and see the origin of the smells…charred bodies…dozens of them.~

~They were burned to blackened crisps.~

~I opened my mouth to scream, but my voice was drowned out by something else.~

~A roar rumbled from the sky, forcing my eyes to the now blood-red clouds.~

~Dragons soared high in the air, fighting with one another. After a few more moments, I realized that they weren’t fighting among themselves, but with another foe.~

~As the dragons twisted and turned, I could see metal glinting in the dying rays of the sun.~

~Robots! The dragons were fighting robots!~

~The two enemies took a nosedive toward the ground. I gasped as green, red, and blue fire erupted from their mouths.~

~Everything in their paths exploded with the unbelievable heat of their flames.~

~And then the dragons and robots turned toward me.~

~I looked around once more but was racked with fear. There was nowhere to hide.~

~Soon, I would be just like the bodies beneath my feet…a lump of charcoal…another victim to the war of the dragons…~
