Chapter 148

Brother’s Sins

The Twin Dragons Series: Requiem City

DEVOREX

Blood rushes through my veins.

I feel washed and scrubbed clean.

I bolt upright in the hotel room bed. All eyes are on me.

One flex of my massive bicep shows me I’m awake and ready to go.

But my movements are sluggish.

My mind is foggy.

“Oh, Rex!” Hazel exclaims, wrapping her hands around my neck.

I lay a hand on her back, grateful for her closeness, and angry that I was out long enough to not be around to protect her.

Turns out it went the other way around…

“The curse has been lifted,” I say, turning to Summer, who is quite obviously drained, exhausted, and nursing her blood loss with a sugary milkshake.

“You have my thanks,” I tell her with a nod and grin.

Summer smiles, “I’m so glad that it worked!”

There’s a small clatter of celebration between the dragons and their mates. Drinks are poured. I’m given a bottle of water that I eagerly chug down.

Then I lock eyes with a woman who could be Hazel’s twin. Younger, curlier hair, but near identical faces.

“~Freesia~,” I say aloud, my vision getting foggy with memories of the young woman tied to the rock.

I stumble out of bed, spilling water from the bottle everywhere.

The woman takes a step back. My vision is half in reality, and half in the haunted memory from my evil brothers of my failure. Her face and body are a haze.

But I know that it’s…

“Freesia,” I say again, bowing my head, “I failed you once because I wasn’t strong enough never knew you… but if I had been there… just know it would ~never~ have unfolded the way it did.” I won’t fail you again.”

Hazel curls her hand around my arm. Of course, she pauses for a millisecond to feel my muscles.

~I’m almost back to 100%. ~

“This is Zayda,” Hazel explains, “Freesia’s second coming.”

My vision snaps strictly to reality. Zayda looks at me with teary eyes.

She remembers too.

“Rex,” Hazel continues, “Nautica kidnapped Zayda’s child.”

Without missing a beat, I reply, “Then we get the kid back. Zayda, you have my word, I will…”

I pause, glancing at Lochness.

“~We~,” I emphasize, “will resolve this.”

Dane and Aneurin nod. “As a team.”

Zayda offers a hesitant and soft smile.

I can’t expect much else. Not with what my family did to her in a past life.

Now, I need to fix it. This is my purpose.

This is why I was brought back.

I approach Lochness, who glares me down with crimson eyes.

“Well, well,” I chuckle, checking out the thick layers of muscle poking out from Lochness’ open button-down shirt, “looks like you finally did it.”

~He may even be able to put up a fight against me now…~

“You’re not back to your full self,” Lochness declares, looking down his nose at me. “That’s not acceptable. We’ll have one more feeding session to strengthen up, then we attack.”

Hazel catches my eye. Her breasts are pushed up by her thin black dress, and her neck appears particularly supple.

“Agreed,” I say, setting a firm hand on Lochness’ shoulder.

Addressing the group, I announce, “We take a few hours to reach our full capacity. All of us. Then I’ll lead the attack on Nautica.”

Lochness winces and his nose scrunches up.

He better have this under fucking control.

Our enemy poisoned me with blood magic through my own mate. Freesia’s child is at risk. We can’t have some fucking idiot screwing things up…

HAEL

~Great. ~

Rex just had to go and say he would lead, didn’t he?

But it’s not a bad plan. He has the most combat prowess, the most time transformed as a dragon, and the biggest score to settle.

Reclaiming peace over his past.

Honestly, he should be leading this attack.

And that’s all it is.

An attack against Nautica.

Not my brother’s fucking ego.

I need to pull out the big guns.

“Maddie,” I whisper, grabbing her wrist and leading her away.

“Yeah, what’s up, babe?”

She bats her long lashes at me.

It’s crazy, but it may work.

“I need your opinion on something,” I say with a sigh.

Maddie lights up.

In typical Maddie fashion, she booms, “It’s about time! You and Loch always want to make every decision without consulting me!”

“Don’t make me regret this,” I laugh.

Maddie takes a deep breath and rests her head on my shoulder.

“Okay, okay,” she smirks.“I mean, thank you! What’s up?”

I lead her back to our private room in the hotel.

“Do you think Lochness will really take orders from Rex?”

Maddie shakes her head and scoffs, “No fucking chance. We can’t let him ruin this for us.”

“Precisely, mouse.”

Opening up a wardrobe, I pull out a pinstripe pencil skirt, matching jacket, white blouse, and a set of flirty red panties.

“We may just be able to convince Loch to surrender power,” I say, handing Maddie the outfit, “if we give him something even greater than leading the dragons.”

Maddie bites her lip and observes the tiny skirt. I can read her mind.

“Oh my god, there’s NO way this would even cover my…”

“That’s the point,” I say, pressing my hard dick against her thigh.

She moans gently and starts to work my cock with her hand.

“Loch has always had a fantasy. It may be a longshot, but if you fulfill that fantasy during his feeding session, then it may be enough to let him see reason.”

Maddie arches a brow and lifts her dress to slide her current panties down to her ankles. I smile at the wet spot on them.

“What’s the fantasy?” she asks.

“Complete submission from his hot little secretary,” I say. “Yes, ~master.~ Yes ~sir~. That sort of thing.”

Maddie rolls her eyes and laughs. She blushes mildly.

“I can’t be there for this,” I say.

“And you really think it’ll work?”

“I do.”

Maddie sighs and slips into the hot red panties.

“Well,” she laughs, her voice becoming extremely sexy, “then I say…”

“~Yes, master…~”
