Chapter 133

Fight Night

The Twin Dragons Series: Requiem City

LOCH

I stand arms crossed in the viewing box, watching the stage lights illuminate the fighting arena.

There are bloody cage fights, and then there’s what we’re about to do.

Thousands in the stadium seating roar with anticipation.

~Let’s get this fucking thing started already.~

I need to see how he performs.

I must learn his style.

That’s the only way I can defeat him.

~Rex. ~

No other has come close to embarrassing me the way he did.

No other will ever come that close again.

Maddie appears beside me, holding a glass of champagne. Even her incredible body in that skintight little red dress isn’t enough to distract me.

“Will you cheer up, grumpy?” she asks playfully, nudging her hip into mine and offering me the champagne.

“I’m peachy,” I reply.

From the corner of my eye, I see her large smile drop.

“Will you at least tell me what’s on your mind?”

Hael’s voice attacks my ears from the corner of the viewing box.

“Give it a rest, mouse,” Hael laughs. “He’s too far into his own head.”

My brother is propped up on a couch with a perfect view of the fight.

His snow-white shirt is unbuttoned down to his chest, and he’s wearing leather pants just like I am.

Maddie curls up beside him.

~They don’t understand. ~

How could they?

I’ve got a beast inside me that Hael could only dream of, and one so strong not even Maddie’s singing could tame it.

~Lochness~.

Rex was right.

He walks down the alley leading to the arena to a thunder of cheers. I don’t take my eye off him.

He throws a few mock punches in front of him, dancing down the alley in an impressive show of footwork to rile up the crowd.

I hate how well it works.

“Here it is, brother,” Hael calls out. “Now we’ll see if we made the right investment with this one.”

Hael’s voice is a scratch against my ears.

Next comes a seething slash.

“Oh,” Maddie says, as if she’s seen the most amazing thing ever, “I think he was well worth the contract.”

I suck at my teeth and pound a fist down on the table in front of me. A glare cuts their laughter.

Maddie sighs and dashes over to me.

“Will you stop this?” she pleas, tugging at my wrist. “You’re like an insecure little boy right now. Come sit down with us. Enjoy the show!”

She guides her hand down to the zipper on my groin, and I swat her hand away.

“I’m watching,” I reply.

Maddie’s heel clicks as she returns to Hael with a scoff of disgust.

I don’t care.

The match is about to begin.

Rex is shirtless in the arena and is taking on three massive men at once.

I know because I signed them on. Rogue dragons who wanted to earn a little money.

I lean forward as they rush Rex.

~Now’s their chance. ~

Rex flips one of the bulky men over his shoulder, then launches a lightning-fast, bare-knuckle punch right in the face of another.

I grit my teeth.

~His speed is remarkable. ~

Rex pivots, and before the man holding his bleeding nose can fully recoil, Rex grabs the man by the back of his pants and throws him into the only other contender still fighting.

~Unbelievable. He’s toying with them.~

Rex raises his hands above his head, and the crowd erupts with thunderous applause.

Hael wraps his arm around Maddie and says, “I can already see the dollar signs.”

I snap my head away from the two and focus back on the fight. The sound of their slobbering kisses drives me mad, but I’m too locked on to say anything.

Rex flurries a blow against a combatant’s chest in a dangerous combination. The man flies to the floor, a twitching wreck.

~Rex is going easy. He could have killed that man. ~

This is for sport. This is for spectacle.

~And this is only a fraction of his power. ~

My hand curls into a fist.

Strength. I need it.

~Now. ~

Rex flings another battle-weary contestant to the arena floor with the ease of swatting a dying fly.

Every eye in the arena is glued to him.

I glance over my shoulder. Maddie and Hael have started to open-mouth kiss on the couch.

Here’s my chance.

I’ve been taking small doses. At least to start.

I reach inside the breast pocket of my suit jacket and pull out a flask. The coppery scent of blood fills my nose.

This is Rex’s secret, and now it will unlock my true potential, too.

I swig from the flask, relishing the sweet taste of mage’s blood.

MADDIE

Hael plays with my breast and I roll my tongue into his in a long French-kiss.

~This is the life!~

Who knew a girl from the streets could live the lux life like this!

Now only if I had my grumpy mate with me here, too.

Rex may be a wildcard who is driving Loch nuts, but I think even Loch will forget about Mr. Muscles once the dollars start to roll in!

Hael bites down on my lip, sending rockets of arousal to my core. He gets up and I paw at his hand.

“We need more champagne,” he says with a wink.

~What a tease!~

I sit, waiting and horny.

Loch is still as tense as he was before. Look at him in those pants. The way they accent his ~everything~.

Why can’t he get over himself and come share in the fun with us?

I’m about to call him over when I see a red drop plop by his feet. Hael is over at the bar, popping the cork to another glass of champagne.

“What’s that?” I ask, darting to Loch’s side, my heartbeat accelerating.

The coppery smell off Loch’s tongue is intense. His teeth are stained crimson as he smiles, his eyes wide.

~He can’t be serious. Drinking blood again? Really? ~

“Don’t look down at me, street rat,” Loch barks.

I know how much of a brick wall Loch can be, so I switch up my tone to something light, sweet, and loving.

Tilting my head, I ask, “Why are you doing this, Loch?”

I take his hand.

~Just come join our little trio of fun!~

Loch tears his hand away and takes another sip from his flask.

~Uh, gross.~

A drop of blood trickles down his chin, and he wipes it away with the cuff of his suit jacket.

I shake my head and roll my eyes.

“Fine,” I say, strutting away and lifting the hem of my dress so it cusps the bottom of my bare ass cheeks, “if this is how you’re going to be. I’ve got someone much more interested in having a good time ready and waiting.”

Hael hands me a glass of champagne, and I loop my arm around his. His stiff cock presses against my hip.

I want Loch to know what he’s missing out on.

“Loch’s all tense because another man is stronger than him,” I tease, unbuttoning Hael’s shirt.

“No one is stronger than me,” Loch snaps. ~“No one~. Rat.”

Rex knocks out another man in the arena.

Hael half-laughs. If he wasn’t so horny, maybe he’d be more worried about Loch.

“He’s not the only one who's tense,” Hael says, grabbing a handful of my ass. “Time to relieve some stress, little mouse.”

And with that, Hael and I make for the bedroom.

Loch doesn’t even glance back at us.

~Forget him. ~

The crowd’s hemming and hawing grow softer as we approach the bedroom. Something’s put the stadium in a frenzy, but it doesn’t matter.

It just means more tickets for the next show!

I grab Hael’s bulge.

~Time for some quality time! ~

Sometimes one brother is better than two!
