Chapter 121

Free at Last?🌶🌶🌶

The Twin Dragons Series: Requiem City

MADDIE

I scrambled into my underwear and skirt as Loch and Hael snored quietly on the metal floor of the vault.

I approached them and reached into Loch’s pocket, pulling out the tiny key for my handcuffs.

After unlocking the one attached to my wrist, I pocketed the golden rings ~and~ the key, just in case.

Harry rushed into the vault.

“Oh my ~God~,” he whispered when he saw the pile of treasure.

“If you look at me while I change, I’ll poke your eye out,” I joked as I pulled on my tank top.

“Don’t flatter yourself, Mads. We got work to do.”

“Carts?” I asked, finally dressed and ready.

“Right outside. With the shovels.”

I strode over to my friend, and we gave each other a hard high five. Harry gripped my hand for a second after.

“Let’s fucking do this!” he rallied.

I assessed the pile for a moment longer while Harry wheeled a large metal cart into the vault and passed me a shovel.

I set to work immediately, digging into the pile as rubies and emeralds tumbled to the ground.

I threw the heaping mounds of riches into the cart.

Our work was noisy, but we didn’t have to worry about waking up Loch and Hael. They were still snoozing peacefully.

“Just don’t, like, step on them, okay?” I warned, which made Harry chuckle.

I started to laugh too. It was pretty funny that my dragon-lord mates, who were ~always~ in control, were now dead to the world…

While we were making off with their treasure.

We continued to load up until three heaping carts were full.

Harry held up a huge, black, diamond-cut stone between his fingers.

“What ~is~ this?”

“Uh, Harry, that’s onyx,” I replied, figuring he would know that.

“Maybe I’ll take ~this~ as my cut,” he mused.

“Sure,” I shrugged. “But let’s figure that out later.”

“Yeah, of course…,” Harry mumbled, still transfixed by the black gem.

The pile was diminishing as I continued to load it up by myself.

“Harry!”

“Sorry, I’m coming.” Harry placed the onyx carefully back on top of a gold-filled cart.

We finished the rest of the work quickly, until we had ten carts full and only a small number of coins remained scattered on the ground.

“I know we don’t have time to get these too, but I wish we could totally clear this place out,” I said wistfully.

“I thought of that too,” Harry smirked. He ran into the hall and returned with a vacuum.

“No way. That thing works on gold?” I asked.

~“Oh yeah.”~

Harry sucked up the very last bits of gold in the vault and loaded the machine into the final cart.

“I have to say, Harry, you’ve outdone yourself.”

“Right back at you,” he replied, gesturing to my snoring mates.

I stood for a moment, admiring Loch and Hael.

“Sweet dreams, darlings.”

I blew them a kiss before shutting the massive door of the vault and spinning the metal handle to lock it.

In the hall, I beamed at Harry…and all our hard work.

“I can’t believe we pulled that off,” Harry said, shaking his head.

“Yeah, well, we’re not done yet,” I replied, pulling out my cell phone. “Is Onyx ready?”

Harry turned on his phone screen and confirmed: “Yep.”

I nodded to myself. We really ~were~ pulling this off.

Maddie

You’re up, Darshan.

Darshan

Let’s roll.

HARRY

“This way,” I told Darshan, steering the cart as he pushed beside me.

The carts of gold had been covered with tablecloths so that they now resembled dining carts.

Darshan whistled, and his employees appeared from the dining room, each grabbing a cart and pushing behind us.

When we approached the security detail waiting at the door to the loading dock, I started to sweat. I nudged Darshan discreetly.

~Is this really gonna work?~

“Big wedding this evening!” Darshan called.

The two security guys nodded.

“Good luck,” one said, smiling, his arms crossed over his bulletproof vest.

And then, finally, we were out in the open. I sighed with relief.

Onyx was waiting outside with a mischievous smile.

While Darshan dismissed his workers, I walked over to my mate. I gave Onyx a quick kiss because I couldn’t contain my excitement.

“You owe me for this one.” Onyx smirked. “Big time.”

“I’m ready to pay up,” I replied seductively.

Onyx took a step back. He disappeared in a cloud of black mist and was replaced by his massive dragon.

“Let’s do this!” Maddie called, running to meet us from the main entrance. Onyx kneeled down and we loaded up his back with our spoils.

When we were all set, Maddie and I secured the load with rope, and finally, we climbed onto Onyx’s neck.

“Let’s go!” I called to Onyx, patting his neck affectionately.

“Let’s. Fucking. Go,” Maddie replied.

As Onyx took off into the air, Maddie hugged my waist and squealed.

~We actually fuckin’ did it.~

LOCH

I woke up, scrubbing the sleep from my eyes.

~When did I fall asleep?~ I wondered.

~And where am I?~

To my right, Hael was yawning. My tired brain slowly registered the metal floor…

The vault.

But something wasn’t right…

Because the vault was ~empty~.

I sprang up onto my feet.

The vault was fucking ~EMPTY~.

“Hael.” I held the wall for support.

“What the ~fuck~?” he asked.

I shook my head. Everything was starting to make sense.

“Maddie really did it,” I announced.

“She really did,” Hael replied.

We looked at each other incredulously, both thinking the same thing. We should have been furious.

But then Hael smirked, and I realized I wasn’t angry either.

Honestly, I was kind of impressed.

The mouse had really pulled off the heist of a lifetime.

MADDIE

I stared up at the large ceiling of the orphanage supply room.

I’d had enough time to make myself comfortable atop the pile of riches ~and~ to set up some mood lighting.

When I heard the flapping of Loch’s and Hael’s wings, my stomach filled with excitement.

I couldn’t wait to see the looks on their faces. And also, I just couldn’t wait to see ~them~.

A moment later, they misted into the room, fully naked in their human forms.

I rolled onto my side and smiled down at them from my massive tower.

Loch and Hael didn’t even try to look mad. They looked almost ~proud~.

“Well played, mouse,” Hael said.

I replied by blowing them a kiss.

Then my mates ran up to me, sending gold cascading down the pile.

We sat up there, on the top of the world, smiling at one another.

“The treasure looks so nice here, don’t you think?” I asked, letting some gold coins fall through my fingers. “Maybe we just ~leave~ it here, at the orphanage. Permanently.”

Hael shrugged, then nodded.

“I think that’s a good idea, mouse,” Loch agreed.

My heart swelled in my chest. Who knew it felt so ~nice~ to do something good?

Plus, it was a relief not to be mad at Loch and Hael anymore. Now I could stare into their dreamy eyes all I wanted.

“Sorry I left you guys with blue balls back there,” I purred.

“You can still make up for it,” Hael reasoned.

The next moment, my mates were on top of me.

I lay down on my back as they kissed my neck; Loch played with my hard nipples, and Hael’s hand reached under my skirt.

I opened my legs wide, and moaned as he pushed his finger inside me.

“You guys feel…so fucking good,” I panted.

Loch growled, covering my mouth with his and kissing me deeply, romantically.

In fact, the whole encounter was feeling pretty ~romantic~, which was not something I could normally say about our sex life.

Then Loch kissed his way down my body, biting my nipple and making my inner walls clench with desire.

As Hael stroked me, perfectly hitting my G-spot every time, Loch kissed my clit, and then settled his tongue on top of it in a steady rhythm.

“Fuckkkk,” I moaned. My body felt like an open flower.

I bucked up into my mates’ touch, feeling my orgasm building up inside me.

“Don’t stop,” I demanded.

And for the first time ~ever~, they didn’t fucking stop. Loch and Hael continued to give me what I wanted, and I came.

As pleasure racked my body so intensely that I momentarily became blind and deaf, I felt ~so happy~.

The riches were exactly where they were meant to be.

And I was too. With Loch and Hael.

A moment later, they came and then rested their heads on my chest.

As I ran my fingers through their hair, we all sighed.

I didn’t know what was in store for us, but it was hard to feel worried about anything after climaxing on top of a pile of money.

I was satisfied.

My mates and I had built a casino together, and I wondered what we would build next. An empire?

I wasn’t just their plaything anymore, and Loch and Hael knew it.

I was their equal, and there was no going back.

STORM

When the disturbance hit, I woke from my slumber with a start.

Silver was beside me on the shady hill next to the flowing stream. Everything was in gray scale. This was our favorite place in the Shadow Realm.

Silver’s beautiful eyes fluttered open.

“What’s wrong?” she whispered.

How could I express what I was feeling?

It was like a low ceiling had fallen away, and above me was a massive, starry sky.

It was like I had only been able to see in black and white, and now my world was in color.

The feeling had been gone for so long that it took me a moment to place it.

“Freesia’s Curse…,” I whispered.

Silver gasped.

“Can you feel it too?” I asked her.

“I’m…not sure,” she replied.

I was specially tuned to the shifts in our universe, and I had been waiting for this one for ages.

“There’s only one way to check,” I whispered.

She nodded and I took her hand. When I opened my eyes, we’d left the Shadow Realm and the world really was in color. We were in the woods, and the sun shone yellow through the changing leaves.

We were at the boundary. The boundary of Requiem City.

“If the curse is broken, we’ll be able to step through,” I told Silver. I kissed her deeply. I wanted her to know that no matter what, I was with her.

And then I did what I had done so many times before. So many times, unsuccessfully.

I strode up to the boundary that kept me within Requiem City like a bird in a cage.

I tried to cross it…

And this time was different.

I expected to find that invisible wall. Closing me in, forcing me to retreat…

But I met no resistance at all.

I stepped right over the border, my bare foot falling onto foreign soil.

I turned back to my mate as tears formed in my eyes.

“We’re finally…~free~.”
