When they left the community, it was already dinner time. Jiang Tingzhou turned on his mobile phone and called a cab. He looked back and said to Su Meng, “Let’s find a place to eat first.”

The place for dinner was suggested by Jiang Tingzhou, which was different from the small roadside restaurants that they ate at noon.  It was a hotel that looked very classy. Even though the items placed in front of her were all valuable delicacies, Su Meng had no appetite for dinner. She held the chopsticks, but didn’t move them for a long time.

Getting  Xiao Mei out was only the first step, and the other things were harder to deal with. The middle-aged man adopted Xiao Mei through formal procedures, so it was unreasonable for them to take her away. If he called the police, there would be a lot of trouble. Su Meng realized that her original plan to come to Shanghai alone was too impulsive. Otherwise, the man who came home early that afternoon was enough to disrupt her plan.

While Su Meng was lost in the past, chopsticks which had sweet and sour fish poked her, “You are so short. Why don’t you eat well?”

Su Meng raised her head and glared at Jiang Tingzhou when she heard the words, “I am not short.” She was only 1.5 meters, she knew that she would grow to 1.65 meters after the age of 18. Although that height was nothing great, she was satisfied.

Jiang Tingzhou sighed, “Dwarf, can’t you admit that you are short. Eat more vegetables to grow taller, understand?”

Su Meng bit her lower lip. She was 1.5 meters tall. It seemed that she was indeed a bit short in front of Jiang Tingzhou, who was 1.8 meters. But she was a girl. Her height was in the normal category. Should she grow up to 1.8 meters like Jiang Tingzhou? Xiao Mei raised her head from and said, “Sister Mengmeng is not short. And it doesn’t matter how tall she is, she looks good.”

Su Meng couldn’t help but smile when she heard that pleasant sentence. She added sweet and sour pork ribs to Xiao Mei’s bowl and said warmly, “Eat slowly.” Jiang Tingzhou was attracted by those words. He sneered and joked, “Then how beautiful is your Mengmeng sister?”

Su Meng said softly to Xiao Mei, “Don’t pay attention to him.” But Xiao Mei raised her head and said seriously to Jiang Tingzhou, “She is very good looking. My Mengmeng sister is the most beautiful girl.” Jiang Tingzhou’s eyes were full of interest, “Most beautiful girl? Then tell her to show her face to me, and let me judge.”

Su Meng looked down and pushed the dishes in front of Jiang Tingzhou a few times, “Quickly eat, stop talking.” Jiang Tingzhou looked at Su Meng with peach blossom eyes, “When will you show me? Huh?” Su Meng ignored him and started to eat. Jiang Tingzhou chuckled and put the topic aside. After dinner, Jiang Tingzhou booked two rooms in that same hotel.

The room numbers were 2103, 2105, just adjacent to each other. Before she entered the room, Su Meng stopped Jiang Tingzhou, who opened the door and was about to enter. She looked at him seriously and said, “Thank you for what you did this afternoon.”

Jiang Tingzhou leaned lazily on the wall with one shoulder and hands in his pockets, and looked at her lazily, “Kid, you are so polite to me?”

Su Meng was silent for a while before she asked, “I… Will it cause you any trouble?”

Jiang Tingzhou raised his eyebrows, “You are worried about me?”

Su Meng hummed softly. Jiang Tingzhou changed his posture and leaned forward. He didn’t take what happened in the afternoon seriously, “Don’t worry, there will be no trouble.”

Although Jiang Tingzhou’s words were somewhat careless, they were inexplicably convincing. Because Su Meng knew he had that ability to give her the guarantee. She smiled at him, “Thank you. Then I’ll go in, good night.”

“Good night, kid.”

After Su Meng entered the room, she chatted with Xiao Mei for a while. The child went to bed early, and after Xiao Mei fell asleep, Su Meng went to the toilet. She had an intuition that her space was upgraded again.
