Chapter 577
The First Heir
Mila hid behind Anne when she saw Marthaâs raised hand.
Philip ran over quickly and kicked Martha on her back heavily.
âOuch!â
Martha yelled in pain. Then, she fell forward and landed on the floor.
âWhoâs that? Do you want to die?â
Martha was lying on the floor face down. Her nose was broken. She yelled while turning around and
holding her nose.
However, when she saw the person standing behind her, she shuddered.
Oh no, it was Philip!
Oh no!
Last time, he taught Joel a lesson right here in this living room.
Martha started trembling when she recalled what had happened last time.
Philip was livid. He bared his teeth as he glared at Martha. Then, he turned around and walked to Mila.
He asked while squatting down, âAre you okay? Did Grandma hurt you?â
Mila was terrified. When she saw her father, she jumped into his arms and bawled. âDaddy, boo hooâ¦â
Philip was heartbroken. He could not distinguish the flames of anger in his heart.
He lifted his head and looked at Anne. He noticed that her hands and chest were red. It was obvious
she was burnt.
âWhat happened?â
Philip asked in a frigid tone.
Anne wanted to conceal the truth. She peered at Martha and forced out a smile. She said, âItâs fine. I
accidentally burnt myself.â
Martha sat on the floor while holding her nose. Her eyes were darting all over the place. She was
worried that Anne would expose her.
When Anne said that, she let out a sigh of relief. However, she was not grateful for Anneâs kindness.
She scolded in her heart, âYou vixen, why are you pretending to be a good samaritan? Wait till I get my
hands on you!â
Howeverâ¦
Mila said in a childish voice out of the blue, âDaddy, Annie didnât burn herself. I saw her crying.â
Mila was not an idiot. She was smart.
However, she did not dare say that it was Martha out loud.
When Philip heard that, he was devoured by flames of rage.
Wynn walked over hurriedly and held Mila. She scowled at Martha who was still sitting on the floor.
If she had not seen it for herself just now, she would not believe that her mother would dare to do just
about anything.
Wynn was so disappointed.
Wynn wanted to say something when she saw Philip walking over to Martha. However, she stopped
herself.
Philip approached Martha and lowered his head. He asked in a cold voice, âMartha, did you forget what
I warned you? You keep challenging my limits. Do you really think I wonât do anything to you?â
Martha was petrified. She was shaking, especially when she saw the aura of death in Philipâs eyes.
âWhat? What? Youâre just a good-for-nothing, Philip. Will you kill me?â
Martha did not care anymore. She yelled while rolling around unreasonably on the floor, âIâm your
mother-in-law! How dare you treat me like this? I donât like you and I donât like your cheap daughter! So
what if youâre rich? Your property rights have been taken away, so youâre just a loser now! What right
do you have to be so aggressive with me?â
After Martha finished yelling, she was still angry. As such, she decided to kick Philip.
However!
Slap!
Philip slapped Martha heavily across the face.
âThis is for bullying Mila!â
Martha clutched her face and looked at Philip in disbelief. She got up from the floor and wanted to
charge at Philip hysterically.
However!
Slap!
Philip swung his hand at her again. The sound reverberated across the hall!
âThis is for bullying Anne! Iâm telling you right now that Iâm taking Anne as my sister. If you dare to bully
her again, this will not be the only thing you have to suffer!â
Slap!
When Martha wanted to say something more, Philip slapped her again.
âThis is from me to you. I endured all of your abuses back then, but tonight, Iâm telling you that if you
dare to cross me again, I will make you regret it, Martha!â
Martha was in a state of shock after the three slaps. Her ears were also buzzing.
She looked at Philip with wide eyes and a gaping mouth. He was too savage!
How dare he hit his mother-in-law!
âPhilip, are you crazy? How dare you hit me over an outsider?â
After Martha came back to her senses, she yelled hysterically. She was on the brink of a breakdown.
She glared at Wynn angrily and shrieked, âWynn, are you going to watch as your mother gets beaten
up? You thankless wench! Youâre siding with an outsider!â
Wynn was standing at one side with a frigid expression on her face. She said, âMom, you went
overboard. This is indeed your fault. Donât look at me, I wonât help you.â
Martha exploded.
She had raised her daughter for more than 20 years. Now, she was siding with Philip, the useless bum.
