Chapter 486
The First Heir
Fabio wiped the cold sweat on his forehead and was secretly relieved. Fortunately, Chairwoman
Johnston was here. Otherwise, he would have been unable to cope with the situation.
Philip shrugged with indifference. Just before he could answer, Houston, who was in a state of rage,
pointed at him and yelled, âWynn! Do you know what your good-for-nothing husband just did to me? He
hit his boss in public! Is this the employee we hired? Is this your assistant? Who gave him the nerve?
How dare a deadbeat do that!â
Wynn frowned a little while her expression was cold. She icily opened her mouth and said, âWeâre at
the company, Mr. Michaels. Please call me Chairwoman Johnston!
âAlso, heâs my husband, not a piece of trash! If you say that again, not only will my husband hit you, Iâll
also hit you.â
Wynn said coldly.
Houston was stunned and looked at the crowd around them. He scolded them for onlooking, then
gritted his teeth and said, âAll right! Chairwoman Johnston! As vice-chairman, I propose to fire Philip
and this gang of security guards who seem to have come out of nowhere!â
âWell, I hired the guards. Why, does Mr. Michaels have a problem with that?â
Wynn coolly replied. She did not like how Houston used his position to bully others.
Besides, he just insulted her husband.
Wynn was annoyed and said, âBesides, please be informed that I wonât fire Philip, Mr. Michaels.â
âYou!â
Houston was stunned by Wynnâs reply. He angrily pointed a finger at Philip and Four. âI wonât let this go
easily! You wait and see, Wynn! Iâll report this to the board!â
Houston left and was escorted out of the company by the security guards.
Wynn gave Philip a cold look. Frowning, she looked at Four and the gang who was standing around.
She said, âFollow me to the office!â
Philip knew it was not that simple. He asked Four and the gang to wait in the company and casually
followed Wynn upstairs.
As soon as he entered the office, Wynn grabbed Philip by the ear and said, âDo you realize that what
you just did was too much? I canât protect you if Houston wants to hold you responsible.â
Philip pleaded for mercy and said, âHey, hey. Let go, honey. Itâs my fault, all right?â
Wynn rolled her eyes at him and said, âAll right! Go back and write me a 10,000-word report on todayâs
incident.â
Philip was startled. His face was sulky. He immediately begged for mercy, saying, âThe report is
unnecessary, honey. As you saw, it was that bastard Houston who insulted my brothers. Iâm just trying
to get them justice.â
âNow that you mentioned it, I have a question. Is that a couple of brothers? Theyâre obviously a gang of
thugs!â
Wynn rolled her eyes at him and continued. âAs for the security team, Iâll inform them. You can ask your
brothers to go home for the time being.â
âCanât you do something, honey?â
Philip was a little worried. After all, he had promised Four and the gang.
âCall me Chairwoman Johnston when weâre in the company.â
Wynn said. She looked at the figure behind the glass walls who was eavesdropping, then she winked
at Philip and scolded. âDo you hear me? Even if youâre my husband, Iâm your boss in the company.
Houston is also your boss. Go back and write that report.â
Philip massaged her shoulders and hollered, âAll right, Chairwoman Johnston.â
The couple looked at each other and smiled, feeling empathic.
After sitting around for a while, Philip left the Chairwomanâs office and ran into a group of
acquaintances.
Noah did not expect to run into Philip here. Especially at the sight of his disapproving face, his heart
burst with anger.
He immediately stood in Philipâs way and pulled his expensive suit cuff before sneering. âHey, isnât this
the deadbeat Brother Philip? We havenât met up in days since we left the hotel. Are you free tonight?
How about having a few drinks with me?â
Philip looked at Noah with a frown and asked suddenly, âDo we know each other well?â
âDo we know each other well?â
It echoed in Noahâs ears, and the ears of his secretary, his assistant, and his bodyguard behind him.
Everyone looked at Philip like he was a fool. âWho is this man to talk to Young Master Anderson like
that? Is he asking for a death wish?â
The corner of Noahâs mouth fell as his expression sank immediately. With a gloomy voice, he asked,
âWhat do you mean, Philip?â
âIdiot!â
Philip rolled his eyes at him. Then, he walked right past him without looking at him.
He just ignored him!
Noah gritted his teeth in fury. His fists were blue from him clenching. He gloomily stared at Philipâs
back. âIâll just let you strut around for a little while before weâll see if you can survive tonight!â
More than half an hour passed.
Philip was waiting for Wynn downstairs at the company. As he recalled, Wynn said they had an
important guest visiting tonight.
âHello, Mr. Clarke, Sir Mitch from the fraternity wants to treat you to dinner.â
Philipâs reverie was interrupted by a forceful voice.
He looked up and saw two large men in black suits, ties, and dark glasses blocking his way.
Sir Mitch from the fraternity?
Philip wondered. âWhoâs this?
âWhatâs the fraternity? Thereâs an organization like that in Riverdale?â
âDo I know him well?â replied Philip, ignoring them both.
âPlease donât give us a hard time, Mr. Clarke. Chairwoman Johnston is already on her way.â
The two men opened their arms and blocked Philipâs way, threatening him.
âWynnâs already on her way?â
Philipâs eyes flickered. There was a chill running through his body.
These people were bad news.
